They would still be here, they just would not have the incentive to post randomb junk to just get their post count up. If they only reason they post at all is the competition of having the highest post count, then I have no problem losing them.

3800 posts in 8 months - that's more than 15 posts every day - oomph!!
typing it could use a fair 2 min's approx PLUS reading the other posts (which maybe sometimes is wishful thinking.. lol), i reckon 8 minutes - makes 10 mins per post.
15*10/60 = 2.5 hours DAILY ... man .. holy sh...

How about a cool looking summons in game that does nothing but look cool for anyone witha 5k post counter? Oh ya cant be dropped traded or sold. That will fix em.

There is only one Preacher of Doom among the MFT's so I dont think this title is a good catch all. I do like Splatters idea of linking the names to the Gods of L2. Arch Scribe is nice as well, but a bit obvious I think.
A response to the few out there who remarked negatively; I have NEVER posted merely to up a post count...sometimes a few words are better than many, and the odd irreverent quip (think SirEl, I dont have his wit) adds personality and that all important personal touch. Id also like to point out that you won't see the L2 board MFT's using offensive name-calling to get their point across, they - we - are a more responsible type than that.
To Tisirin. I cant speak for all MFT's but in the main we are adults in f/t employment, so the suggestion of yours wont fly. Sorry :p

I pondered on this question, but wanted to see the feel of the thread before I added in my suggestion(s).
The one I quoted was one I had thought about, found it rather in-tone with the game, and not too pejorative.
Frankly I've seen everybody and their Dogs complain about MFT's (Heck, even God took a stab at us). It's been to the point I was considering just trashing this account (because there was nothing left to do with it) and start fresh (And I mean 0 posts by freah, not taking a shower or anything, because I don't want to be clean), even maybe conceal my identity...
Basically, MFT's are the ones that rise above the masses, that are implicated beyond the point of no return. Yet people just brush them off as spammers, no jobbers, no lifers, RL Challenged (that was a funny one) and etc. I think SirE put it best when he said a postcount is like sex : People are just jealous if you got more than them...
On the other hand, some people suggested Darkmotion as a title (although it would be stupid, because it's my name, it's not a title), it made me smile nonetheless. This goes to show a true MFT will impact a greal deal of people, not because of a high postcount, but because of an "enhanced" personnality. MFT's are people with strong personnalities, they are volubile and social. It explains the high number of posts.
I DO Think we should get to chose our own title at milestones like these, what do you think Sarge ? Shouldn't be all that hard to maintain, I mean, how many times you get a user with 5K+ posts ?
In conclusion, my title is (and will always be) The Official Board Devil. Nobody contests it, I made this title for myself and have worked hard to maintain it. Nowadays, people don'T even challenge me over this. And the odd n00b that does is quickly put back in his place by OTHER forum members.

That was going to be my suggestion. So I vote for Board Warrior or PvB Master (PvB = Player vs Board). Or if you must, Forum Warrior or PvF Master. Whatever, you get the point. I work at home and I can't even find the time to read and post that much.
I wouldn't give a **** if post counts and titles disappeared; or even if mine was reset to 0. For those that are for this, do you truly believe that we would stop posting if that was the case? Do you actually believe that the "quest for MFT" is the reason we post? Do the boards change us or do we change the boards?

I think Darkmotions suggestion of moving the MFT title a bit up is a good one, actually AshNC made a similar thread way back and there was some good suggestions in it.
I would say that 5000 and 7500 should both have titles. What titles it should be is hard to say, with Antharas being the thing before Mighty Forum Troll, it makes it hard to continue on that line (actually I am for dropping the Mighty Forum Troll title all together and making new titles for 3000, 5000 and 7500), Maybe the various L2 gods or other dragons?

Well, moving the spread around would add logic to the system. On the human side, the 3 MFT's you will be demoting are girls, so I doubt they will mind "not" being Trolls. Somehow, we know who they are anyways. The title is just flavor.
I don't suggest you use custom titles so far as 10K. As I already stated, I won't get there. I will change accounts to post if I have to. It's just not a commitment I'm willing to make here (at ALL, not even for all the adena in Aden).
Board postscounts are a logarithmic function. As you rise in numbers, you drop CONSIDERABLY in instances.
5K posts for a custom title would be a nice wink to the people who actually make this board what it is. You can't spam your way up to 5K, it's just not possible. Not usually, very hard here specially, and since you are here Sarge, nearly impossible.

I think it would be a simple matter of submitting a title to the mods and letting them change it, if it's acceptable.

I think that keeping with the overall arc of Lineage II that once you reach 5k posts you should be given the option of either not having your post count increase anymore or having your post count reset to zero. This would mirror the in game experience of hitting 75 and 100% whereby you either subclass or stay the same ^^

Ditching the MFT title is not a bad choice in view of the alternative choices, i.e. names of gods, etc. The spacing of the levels really doesn't bother me either, even though I probably won't ever get there. :p

Remember Sarge, you basically make the rules. So if you change anything in a snap, we 3 would probably be the last to complain (We have much more important things to complain about).
My current guesstimation is you won't get anyone over 5K before 5 more weeks, then next in 3 months, then, it's just too blurry to tell.
Of course, as the board matures, the function "takes a right" or moves to show more posts/person. This is a normal effect of time on a board. But most will drop before 5K.

I have seen the comparison between the two dragons. I dont recall the new one to be smaller then Antharas. But I believe it is to be even more dangerous then the old dragon is (and he has yet to be defeated on my server) so he sounds like the nastiest mob in the game yet. Fitting for a new title if you want to replace the MFT.
Or you would have to insert another mob first. Baium for example could come right after Orfen, then leading up to Antharas and such.
Alternatively how about: Boss MFT and later Raidboss MFT? That would be a warning not to tackle a MFT unasisted :D

Yup and in the same idea I(d love to gain XP on my dwarf by crafting ! Each time I craft it would make me earn a bit of XP. Big crafters would get rewards. At last.

You'll get quantity but not necessarily the quality. Of course it wouldn't take long for Sarge to clean up the mess but would be more trouble than worth the time. I'd rather they redo the castle control section on the boards and show real time who is sieging and defending particular castles or at least have the L2 game itself update some file each time someone registers to attack a castle and their status. Then the castle control can just look at that database.
That's exactly why I was advocating the opposite.... Have post counts ++ thanks to our ingame leveling.

A postcount is a number representing the number of interventions you made on a certain forum. It's not a level you can pump up to feel good.

(Only the experience of higher hunting places would suffice to aggre about that ; ALL OTHER THINGS BEING EQUAL - and the 5 1st ones to talk about non legit toons will be slaughtered)

But in your opinion, MFT's shouldn't be rewarded, they should be shot on the spot. YEAH right, whatever. Go back to playing in-game, I vote that when you reach 75 in-game, your char's level should be reset to 0, and you should lose all your gear.

True however u notice that ALL the high posters always have a middle of the line star rating becuase with that many posts u are going to state ur opoionon and someone isn't going to like it.
