Some Leveling Suggestions 0-40

There are two threads asking for 25+ leveling advice, both are filled with contradictions, and in some cases, deliberate attempts to mislead. Therefore, I am making this post to list my own recommendations to both of those original posters along with anyone else who has the same question in the future.

One important note: these suggestions are based on maintaining a balance between earning potential and EXP gain. If you prefer to get rich, focus on easy to kill mobs that con green. If you prefer to level as quickly as possible, team up with two other people your own level and find any hunting ground with Strong (4x HP) monsters that con yellow or pink.

From 0-25, most of the available quests are set up so that you will hunt the most consistent leveling mobs for your character. In addition to keeping you in the steady growth range, the quest reward is a nice bonus, even when it's small. For that reason, I am using the quests as a cornerstone to this guide on leveling.

Level 0-15
Stay in your starter village. Run every quest (http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/quest.html) you can find, run the repeatable quests more than once. If this is your first character on the server, take full advantage of the ability to use the Equipment Exchange (http://www.lineage2.com/guide/bonuses.html) option available through the Weapon shop.

Level 15-20
This is the first point where things get tricky. Local quests become few and far between while things like Grim Collector in Giran are not anywhere near as lucrative as they once were. One good quest that any race can run is in DE starter village. Talk to the Dwarf Collette in the Warehouse, deliver his letter to Gludio, and then deliver the letter you receive there to Gludin. The quest takes about 20 mins. when you run along the roads, less if you know some safe shortcuts, and the two runs together pay over 20,000 adena. Good money at this level for a one-time quest.

Despite the fact that it is far less lucrative than it once was, Grim Collector is still not a bad way to spend an afternoon. If you don't use NG shots (the free novice shots, however, are very helpful), you can easily turn 20-25,000 adena in a couple hours. Nowadays it is better to sell the bones and everything to Samed and not bother having complete skeletons made.

Don't overlook the Level 15 Pet Quest from Martin in Gludin. It's expensive for those who have to use the boat or Gatekeeper, but for Elves or Dark Elves it's a couple hours of easy leveling. Selling the wolf collar should bring you around 25-35k You could also choose to keep the wolf. :D They are a pain to level in today's Aden, but quite fun for anyone who is not a powerleveler solely intent on hitting 52 as early as possible.

Level 19-21
Do your Class Change quest. When you finish it, hunt in the Neutral Zone between the Elven and Dark Elven starter towns, or hang out in the Langk camps south of Gludin. Once you make 20, sign up with Dusk/Dawn, get a pick up group in Gludin, and poke your nose into Necropolis of Sacrifice for the first time. Don't expect too much your first time there, but make it a point to try. In later levels you're going to be spending a lot of time in Catacombs and Necropoli all over the map.

Level 21-25
There are a couple of options here, but I personally only recommend one: Vanquish Remnants (http://lineage.warcry.com/index.php/content/db_php/questd.php?id=326). Get the quest, go to Abandoned Camp, stay right there until you make 25, then go back and turn in your badges. Try not to use shots and potions except in emergencies, and try to party with two other people near your level. A three player party of almost any make up can tear through AC with relative ease, quickly burning through levels and building up a good supply of adena and items. If you can't find a party, soloing is still possible, and downtime can be minimized if you are careful not to draw too many occurrences of multiple mobs. I have yet to find any class that cannot level consistently and make decent money doing this quest.

Level 25-30
Two choices here: Turek Orc Camps (you can get a quest for these guys from the guard at the north gate of Gludin) and the Black Lion Quest from Sophya in Dion.

True, there are other possibilities, but these are the only two that will provide a nice balance between consistent leveling and good adena earnings. Groups, if you enjoy hunting with others, are relatively easy to find in Dion. It is possible to find Turek hunting groups in Gludin, but they are not as common as they once were.

This is also a good time to experiment heavily with the Dusk/Dawn competition and start building up a stock of Ancient Adena. Necropolis of Sacrifice south of Gludin is doable solo, but you will be spending a lot of money on healing potions and shots, so you will probably lose money. Duos and Trios, especially a good balance of damage dealers and healers, can do quite well here, but finding a pick up group is difficult. I spent dozens of hours down here with a three person group: my Palus Knight and two Dark Wizards. Between 25 and 30 we could easily control any room in the Necro, and on more than one occasion successfully fended off people trying to drop trains on us.

Between 25 and 30, this would be the third week of July or thereabouts, the three of us rotated between Necropolis of Sacrifice, Partisan Hideaway, and Delu Lizardmen south of Floran. We gained a full level every other day or so, and we only hunted about two hours a day. By the time we hit 30 we were all in top D-grade weapons and armor/robes. Nice consistent leveling and income with almost no downtime at all. One of the best weeks I've ever had playing. (Partisan Hideaway Ol Mahums and Delu Lizardmen are both Black Lion quest mobs, you can change missions at Sophya in Dion quite easily.)

Level 30-35
This is another of those awkward times. Not many good quests, and not many good hunting grounds, esp. if you solo. Breka Orcs and most of Death Pass is good for solo melee fighters, but Clerics/Oracles should start sticking to groups whenever and wherever possible, preferably in Catacombs or Necropoli. Wizards and Sorcerers will probably bounce back and forth between soloing in places like Bee Hive and grouping in Cruma Tower or the Catacombs/Necropoli.

If you can get together with 4+ people in a balanced group, you might explore early parts of Dragon Valley or head through Death Pass to Leto Lizard country. Leto Overlords are excellent EXP, very good drops, and not too difficult if your group is reasonably competent. The pit beneath the Ivory Tower is not too bad either, and spellbooks are always in high demand.

At the moment, my level 33 Palus Knight is back to soloing. I've been hunting in Gorgon's Flower Garden (quest from one of the guards at the north gate of Giran, Arrow of Vengeance (http://lineage.warcry.com/index.php/content/db_php/questd.php?id=331)). The mobs are not too difficult to solo, but there is considerable downtime and I have to watch out for people running trains. I took down a train of Bugbear and Harpies the other day (much to the surprise of the dwarf who dropped it on me), but it was touch and go and cost me a bundle in potions and DSS. I'd much rather be grouping in Pilgrim's Necropolis, but my friends are 35 and busy doing their first class change quest.

Well, I suppose it bears mentioning that Cruma Tower is also doable from 30-40. Personally, and for a variety of reasons, I don't recommend it, but many players swear by it and the vast majority of people who are now 60+ spent much of their early game in Cruma Tower or in the swamp surrounding it.

Level 35-40
Focus on your 2nd Class Job Change quests. These are very time-consuming, especially if you can't afford Gatekeepers (or simply prefer not pay for them). You might also see the Pet Manager in Giran and do the level 35 Pet Quest. Hatchlings are very useful, sturdier than wolves, and if you can get them to level 55, you can take them on another quest to evolve them into Stryders.

When you hit 40 and complete your Class change the first thing you need to do is find a clan that is both online the same time you are and enjoys hunting together. Almost no one can solo effectively past 40, and when you get beyond 52, anyone other than Archers or Summoners will have a very hard enjoying the game solo.

And that's it for a quick, off-the-cuff guide to leveling and making adena in C3 for players between 0 and 40. Others will have different ideas, especially if those ideas are specific to their favorite class. Following the brief outline I've made here though, will provide a good starting point for any player of any class who does not cheat and spends most of their ingame time hunting solo or in small groups.

Naturally, if you depend on the secondary market, have top D-grade gear and can spam DSS or DBSPS to your heart's content, then you can hunt almost anywhere on the map south of Aden/Oren. However, I would hope that most of us don't utilize the secondary market. Ideally, none of us.

I like :), nice work.

One clarification: you do not need to do the lvl 35, 37, 39 class change quests in sequantial order, and can save a good bit of time/money by doing them simultaneously.
nicely written. sophia quest is very valuable in the mid lvls. dont forget to find a good manor system as well. but thats another topic.
Very Nice! Seems like what I have done, except with a few extra things that I wish I would have done. All I can say, is make sure you get that Black Lions quest...it's great.
A few notes.

- With the removal of the experience penalty, killing greens for experience has become viable even when trying to power through a levelling stage. IMO the only reason anyone should be attacking yellows or pinks anymore would be to manor. ^_-

- Quests level 15+ are very good in Elven Village and DEV at least, I can't speak for TI, Dorfland or Orcland. There are repeatable quests in EV and DEV both that are very viable: Destroy Plague Carriers (solo) for 15k a pop, and Sweetest Venom which is I believe 4.5k a pop now. My personal suggestion would be to stay and do all the quests until there are no longer any available.

Nothing else to say that wasn't already - good job on the write-up. ^_^

I think there's reason to go yellow and pink.

Teens, 20s, 30s, and 40s, if you have a decent duo and are able to pull competently, you will find if you hunt greens that the only time the healer uses more mp than he regenerates is for buffing. I find myself using battleheal instead of regular, just so I can get one extra swing at the mob, why not if you're full mp.

Relaxed hunting is okay, but you might as well press it up a notch to make full use of your mp.

Of course I've also been in groups where I waste lots of mp on root and sleep, or waste a lot of mp healing a wizzy/DD who keep pulling aggro, and of course the bigger the group the harder it is to buff and heal, so ironically your ability to take pinks and yellows diminishes. So really it will depend on your group.

Item drops: Some people claim they never get crystallizable drops. I get plenty of full item drops. The only thing I can figure is that the people without drops are either very forgetful or they're hunting the wrong things.
I have had item drops from white colored names, yellows, and pinks. I don't spend a lot of time hunting greens or light blues except for AoE groups or when I get the spoiler out, but I've not got crystallizable drops from greens or light blues. "your mileage may vary"
Drop chances are not reduced significantly until you start going into the light blue - on the other hand, they're reduced significantly on higher-up mobs also (recently introduced). I have been hunting greens~low whites since my late 20ies and have frequently received full drops.

Groups where you don't wind up resting and can buff-on-the-fly are nice, but I suppose that much is a matter of preference.
This guide rocks, and I'm going to move it to Player Guides and sticky it.

A great guide! A few things to add:

- Greens are now a viable option now because since they are green and you have the potential of a better patk/pdef than the mob, you don't need as many (if any at all) SS/SpS to kill Green thus saving loads of $. (BTW: upgrading to a better weap is almost ALWAYS better than upgrading armor parts with extra $.)

- No mention of seeding! This is the IMHO EASIEST way of getting $. You can easily take that extra $ that you just saved and put it into seeding. Before you know it, the seeds are all sown and you can trade it in when you get a chance. You can EASILY get 2x or more of the money back depending on the time you have (usually sell to shop for 2-3x) or sell to buy shops when you see them in town for BIG profits.

- STUN! IMO one of the best skills for the classes that get it for soloing. Even at higher levels grinding, the only thing that really impacts the amount of downtime is not HP (using healing pots while soloing) but MP for stun! I ONLY use stun when soloing because the less damage they do to you, the longer you can go without resting.

- Try to party up if you can even if only 1 other person. The mobs can only hit 1 person at a time making the other heal naturally AND you both get the % experience bonus of being in party. If 2 people have stun, non-stop fun!

- If a new character, make use of those free buffs from the Novice character in towns!

Doing this you should have the top weap when you level 20, 40, etc grade changes!

Hmmm missing a few good quests here:

The LE village offers two quests to all takers who are not DE. One will give you a Bone shield and some cash, the other is for killing the big boss and nets you 42k.

Another good quest is the sweetest venom quest which can be found in DE vil at lvl 18+. This one is worth 5810a each time you do it.

I just finished acts of Evil 27+ level (guard at N gate Gludin) that can be combined with the ol mahum quest (Leopold in Gludin) and the kill Orcs in Barrack quest (at the farmer house near OB). This one will have a reward of 98000a! Plus 10k from the other quests and drops. Very good money that will help you with gaining your gear.
Thanks to the OP and anyone else who added on useful info. This is just what I was looking for.
A note for your guide.

Recently I started an alt and found a great way to lvl from 20-almost 30 I would imagine.

If you have an elven jewelry set, go to dion. Right outside the east exit on the right side of the road there is monster eye's there. They are 2x mobs and do little to no dmg if you have the elven set. They give you 1500exp+ and have a very low defense. I play hardcore when I lvl, but i was managing 1 level an hour using soulshots, all the way up to level 27 so far.

Its also good because bots don't like to buy jewelry so they leave them alone. For added speed, buffs are ussually very easy to get in dion. Ussually a rec or 1-2k will get you some.

Also for mages who can't do close combat, they are very weak to wind. A bsps and a windstrike will kill them in one hit I think.

Anyways just a note.

P.S. Note that anyone can do this. I was a shamen in mith robes with a bonebreaker. So my defense was fairly low with robes on.
Thanks a ton for this guide.

I am a level 22 Warrior on Devianne, and I just started the GAME a week ago. So this is my first character. I feel I can add a few points, and point out a few things that worked well for me.

First of all, the importance of the newbie bonuses cannot be over-emphasized. The trade up option, the support magic, which at levels 17-19 practically makes you invincible when spamming the 13k newbie soulshots you get. Also the 100 lesser healing potions are great, and while you shouldn't spam them, using them to decrease downtime is fine, because by level 20 they're worthless anyways.

A couple notes to add.
After the newbie soulshot runs out, don't spam it anymore. It costs anywhere from 1/2 to 2/3 of what you make, even when using the Grim Collector quest AND the manor system. Closer to 1/2 if you're manoring. But it doesn't speed up the progress enough to make up for it, IMO. Later on, once you have some money under your belt and good equipment that will last for a good number of levels, spam away, because you'll level quicker - at least that's my guess.

The Dwarven Kinship delivery quest is an easy 22k, highly recommended. Being a human, the pet quest was more of an annoyance, but if you do both weapon quests on Talking Island, you can sell the one you won't use for 10k or so. Depending. If you're a fighter sell the mystic weapon, and vice versa.

Manor system is great, though it can be hard to buy seed and/or sell indigenous product, depending on what time you're on. Red Coda = Varnish, a good way to go, though the seed sells out quickly and the quota for produce is met quickly, too.

The Sweetest Venom quest was hardly worth it, IMO. It's a long distance to run, and being a human without an antidote ability, buying antidotes and or sitting until it wore of wasn't worth the time. Elves will have a better time with this one. As for the other quests, most of the add on quests were race specific, just FYI. Check the quest listings under the Library.

For some reason I seem to be short 100k for my new weapon, so I've been staying in the Ruins of Agony or Despair, manoring. As soon as a finish though and get it, I'll move to the Vanquish Remnants quest. I've been solo the entire time, I suppose having a party would make it go faster, as mentioned.

Other than that, I plan on following this guide fairly closely. It all seems like good advice. I have to learn to party sometime. =P

Thanks!
nice guide! thanks for posting :)
This is an awesome guide for everything except healing professions.

i feel i need to point out some few things to help anyone wanting a bishop or elder;

first off, Matk does not affect the power of your heals by a large margin. only a small one. healing with bsps, or sps will increase the total hp resored by 20-35% max, it does NOT double the power of the heal.

now some rules
1: duo. never big party. if u take anyone around 3 lvls higher than u, u wll be fine. especially if he is a pole user. when you heal, heal using regular heal when your tank is around 60% or his hp is falling tremendously fast. if you cant get an handle on the situation within 3 heals, break out the Blessed spiritshots and the battle heal and prepare for a big MP drain;

theres only one way to heal a tank thats more than 8 lvls above u: chain heal. what i mean is (to do this efficiently) automate your BSPS, and begin a heal, immediately after beginning your heal, click Batle heal. you will successfully have given your tank a nice chunk of hp to use and straightaway afterwards, you will have healed the tank for around 30% full life. it also imitates a higher power of heal, so ur tank will be thoroughly impressed. ;)

2: consider the aggro. never ever run before the tank or infront of him except to lead him to the mob hunting area if he doesnt know the way. considering aggro is especially important if you are with a pole user and you are attempting to train a bunch of mobs into a corner. NEVER PREMATURELY HEAL OR BUFF YOUR TANK IN FRONT OF AN AGGRO MOB because you will draw the aggro onto you. if you are hunting passive mobs, fear nothing except using too much mp healing your tank.

3: maximise your mp conservation. with a duo, you will need to stand almost all the time, being constantly ready to heal or rebuff. in a large group, try to sit as much as you can without being lazy. keep your group above 80% health and you will be ok in most situations. use a group heal only when necessary, and for goodness sakes, try not to group with people who are overconfident in taking on multiple mobs.

4: if you notice that your tank cannot take many hits before loosing too much hp, sleep or root those mobs that attack and arent dealt with soon enough, but be careful; sleep and root need Matk to increase how often the spell lands and how long the spell lasts. if you arent using something with good Matk on red or yellow mobs, your sleep might not land.

5: soloing with a healer: yes it is possible, but expensive. you have 5 skills as a healer that will aid you in soloing; sleep, root, disrupt undead, windstrike, and ice strike. without some powerful Matk and casting speed, you wont be able to solo effectively.

in order to solo u will need a few things: acumen, windwalk, concentration, and shield are the buffs you will absolutely need. if you are an elf or dark elf you will have empower instead of acumen, so lucky for you it is easier to solo. you humans wont have empower, so rely on speed to kill. mostly i root and either disrupt undead or windstrike until mob is dead, or if i cant do that for the grief of many mobs in the area, do a sleep, draw whatever other mobs further away and sleep them again. multiple mobs will cost you dearly in mp as a human. also because of your speed you will likely need to heal yourself in the process.

there are 3 other ways to solo as a healer; 1: get a pole and root while attacking from as far as possible (most mobs wont be able to reach you with a pole). 2: get duals and **** your way through a mob spamming ss. or 3 (and more common): get a bow. root the mob and shoot the mob. high p atk will kill fast, but low accuracy means hard to use without wasting arrows. my fav is still windstrike lol.

all in all, seeding isnt really viable as a healer unless youre constantly soloing using root/sleep. sure u can do it, and it makes you a fair chunk of change, but it takes a lot longer without a tank that will let you seed. and from my experience, not many tanks let you seed.
This is how I leveled my last charater (orc mystic) to level 20.

I grabed my main's +3 Dama w/focus, some Bss, Bronze Armor, lots of Healing Potions, and lots of Greater Swift Attack Potions.

Then I ran up to passive mobs that were 10-15 levels higher than me and kept swinging until I hit them. Then I spamed healing pots until I hit them again and they died.

Five hours later I was level 20.

P.S. Dont attack archer mobs.
I sure do wish there was a guide like this for 41-61 or something...lol I'm 49 atm and my bro is 47 and we can't find a great spot to hunt at together.
45 to 64 is pretty simple and straightforward if youre into paying 50k per week to join dawn.

apart from that there are a few fields you can go to, namely outside FG or in IT. around Aden are many good hunting spots for duo.
kill lizzies in enchanted forest good xp
From lvl 31 you can take the quest from one of the giran's guards for gorgones, harpies and wyrms. Locations with tohse also have timac orks 1 and 2x. I seeded red cobol there when mobs where white-green to me and got 1-2 return on those. Alos quests givev may be 70-100 adena per mob, while the mobs themcelf drop may be around 300a.
wow, all of this helped. thanks, i needed some guidence, especially with the money part, just died and lost my pants =P

especially with the money part, just died and lost my pants =P

Is that why the mobs are pointing and laughing?
Hi, level 35 EO, looking for a good solo spot for undead or a good duo or trio spot any type.

Also, what is this level 35, 37 and 39 quests you were referring about?

Also, what is this level 35, 37 and 39 quests you were referring about?

2.nd class change :)

Don't have any good suggestion for hunting spot for you though.
It used to be hangman trees in EG but they made those no longer undead. I've heard that Rakul in Field of Whispers is, but they are mixed in with non-undead so if you are solo, this might not work. I'm planning on trying it out when I make my Bishop...

You might want to try out Death Pass, Gorgons Flower Garden or even Bee Hive in duo-trio...you shouldn't have it that hard to find party's anymore now :)

The lvl35-37-39 quests are 3 quests that you have to do to become Elven Elder (or each class that wants his occupation changed at lvl40).
The quest you did at lvl19 to become Elven Oracle gives you a very small hint about what you will have to do for those 3 quests.
Everybody has done those, they are time-consuming, but have a great story...and if you need any help I'll be happy to help you out with Orvieta.
I loved thsi guide, but as a super newbie i have one question: (well, lots more than one, but one one that's pressing. hehe :P)

how does a pesron get from one starter village to another?

After the newbie soulshot runs out, don't spam it anymore. It costs anywhere from 1/2 to 2/3 of what you make, even when using the Grim Collector quest AND the manor system. Closer to 1/2 if you're manoring. But it doesn't speed up the progress enough to make up for it, IMO.
.....

I disagree with this. If you can get red Coda's to farm varnish and there is a return between 50 and 100 it is definetly worth spamming soulshots and doing the sweetest venom quest at the same time.
I did this with my newly picked up DE fighter (first on the zombies, since she was lvl 15) without any potions except the occasional ww1 one's.
At that lvl you should have the top NG weapon and armor or 1 below that, especially if it's your 1st char since upgrading your weapons save's you loads of money and since my char had the quest dagger while slaying the zombies and the highest dagger while on the spiders it should be pretty comparable.

Since the return rate on gustin last week was 100(2 fruits = 1 varnish) and I always got an approximate 2.5 fruits per mob, but I'll say 2 each mob to round it down (counting the half fruit for the seed cost even though it's much lower), I got 1 Varnish per mob atleast. Varnish sells for 800a to buy shops in giran, I could probably have sold it for more, but i settled for that.
So thats atleast 800a extra per mob. Now the spider quest gave me enough money to port (1800 spiders nest) plus the money for scrolls of escape, some lesser healing potions, some antidote's and I'd still have money to spare.

So here's the facts:
Using SS will approximately make me kill 2x faster, but with walking to mob, handing in the quest items etc. etc. I'd assume it would make me kill 1.5 times as many mobs per hour.
I used 5 hits with ss to kill each mob (not even counting the ss saved by specials landing), thats 5x2 = 10 ss/mob ->
10x8a = 80a/mob = 10% of 800a profit/mob
So not even counting normal adena drops I could either get:
certain profit/hour by not using ss which we will set at 100%, or
100% * 1.5 = 150%, 150% - 10%(/mob) = 140% profit when using ss.

So it depends on how much ss you would use per mob, how much money you make /mob and how much faster you kill with ss (for example the spiders are really close together, so more time spend killing), but it can definetly be worth it to use ss when using the manor.
One other point... I always see people recommend the zombie quest. That works wonderfully if you are a melee character and stinks if you are a mystic.

Disrupt Undead as lvl20 Shillien Oracle is pretty good in the Ruins.
Disrupt undead is great, but zombies are never a good choice for the spell, they have high Maigic resist and they are always better to beat to death through physcial means.
Get a pole(and i don't mean fishing pole). get someone with VR. go crazy. if you don't have someone around with VR(vampiric rage), go to the racetrack and shout that you want to buy VR for 20k(you are gonna make 10 x's more money so dont be a greedy fool-and if money doesnt work, offer a crafted leather or sumpin). cats/necros work well, cause the mobs are close together. lots of corners and you can fight mobs 2/4/8 at a time. oh yeah, if you fight the mobs 8 at a time you are going to use 8x less shots....win win win situation-unless a mob crits on you and puts you down.

Enjoy making xp 5x's as fast.......your welcome. oh yeah - make sure to get out of my room and leave me alone. get out of my room and leave me alone. get out of my room get out of my room. get out of my roooooommmm!!

True, forgot that zombie's are M. Resist, but skeletons aren't ;)
fishin pole is good too ^^
This is really helpful, thanks ^o^
Do you get XP or skill point bonuses for turning in quests? Or just items? Im level 9 and from my experience so far, I have only got items from the few quests ive done.
Only from some quests, far from all. L2 quests are nothing like WoW quests. -But class change quests always give xp/sp (except the third class change? I can't remember :o)

Have a look at Stratics Quest Guide (http://lineage2.stratics.com/content/library/quests/) - you can see the rewards for the various quests out to the right.
I'm still waiting for the 40-52 guide ;)
That depends a lot on the class, so just ask in the Player Questions forum. :D

Sohee's avatar rocks.

Looks too much like Foofoo.
Very NICE GUIDE!

I loved thsi guide, but as a super newbie i have one question: (well, lots more than one, but one one that's pressing. hehe :P)
how does a pesron get from one starter village to another?

Once you talk to the newbie guide in the town after leaving the start room, you are given 200 more shots and 12 newbie travel tokens. They look like gold coins in your bag and, using the town newbie guide, select the option to visit other starter towns. They are only usable until you make 20.
I've done this now for about 4 chars now to make it a decent track record, but from 1-20, let the newbie guide tell you what to do. You'll get to 20 in about half an hour to an hour. Skip the Pet quest until 20 to speed through it.

After that i just sat and did the 102ka quest for DE, then the Zombie soldiers till 26, then finally the Ol Hum where i am at lvl 27. Also, if you don't mind not upgrading your armor, you can buy the "common" version for alot cheaper and get the same stats, but no real bonuses. (such as for the Wizards armor, Knowledge Tunic. No bonuses for set, but stats stick.)

I just started about oh, 5 days ago and am an alt-aholic. But the 1-20 guides are no longer useful and first job change is at 20 (which is also helped by the newbie guides.)

hope this helps a little.

EDIT: From 20-25, the Ol Hum commander/captain at the Abandoned Camp (the first camp in from the tp road) will get you there, then 26-30, Turek Orcs Shamans and Overlords, they really did it for me. Plus alot of their drops were money makers.
30-35 i sat in the Necro of Sac, the best place for leveling due to the fact you can camp a room in there with Gatekeeper Gaurdians and Seers also with Lilith Witches and Scouts, now thats the way to garnish RSS and BSS for either lots of AA or cold hard Adena.
36-38: i did the class change quests but always fell short, so the Leto overlords and shaman helped.
38-40: This is where i found the most trouble, so i searched and found that Weird Drakes, Lakin, and Kroben Spiders were awsome for those few levels. Drops were good, Weird Drakes and Spiders aggro, but Lakin didn't (but did stun fyi). and at 38, you wanted to be near Hunters Village for the start of that quest.

Also, from lvl 20 on, you use D class items, just head over to Giran, get everything the highest D grade you can get from the Common set, and then you can save money later for your regular gear. Cause once you hit 40, that C class gear looks new and refreshing lol.

I'm just adding something that could help people who seem to be having trouble finding that "right spot"

Furthermore, i'm a Dark Elf Assassin-> Abyssal Walker, so maybe this small guide might help that small portion of players that went that route?

add and take out what you like, but thats what i did using this guide as a base. Might just put up for DE Fighters a guide specifically made for yall. We'll see if i can find motion after 40. (then a nice guide from 40+ might just come from it)

Leto Overlords and Shaman are found south of Oren in the Plains of the Lizardmen. the drakes and Lakin are found near Hunters Village just below where the "+" is to expand the view of Hunters Village on your map.

Hope that helps.
post 20 this is too long and complicated

i usualy just do the following (for fighter classes, including dwarves)

(my guide requires high level support and equipment so skip it if you're new to the server)

1. grab your brigantine +6 set and DHA/150 anything

2. take with you the shillen saint 78+ and optionally the Prophet 52+ (needed for haste lvl2 and berserker spirit lv2, you can do with haste2 pots instead but some higher RBs will be much harder to kill)

3. at 20 go to the low level raid boss, 20-21 will be good, need some experience to remember where they are though. usually you eaily find one aftr a few variants.

4. buff all the fighter buffs you got and most important the noble buff. at least buff prophecy of wind and dissolve party and kill the rb. if there are the guards, kill them first...

5. if you die, just rez and give noble and prophecy again and keep going. this is only problem if you are at level 20, in which case you might lose D grade expertise, so before going to RB do the xp quests. if you don't lose expertise, dieing does not matter as you'll get enough xp to cover the dieing xp losses.

6. rinse and repeat. kill blue or green raid bosses always. if any of the guards are dark blue then skip this rb, you'll get paralyzed... To find raid bosses appropriate for your level, use the World Map/World Guide tool, Raid tab and sort by the level. You can always see the location of nearby raids on the map.

and avoid healing or buffing by the high level support because they will get silence which you will have to remove at arena. unless you have 2 summoners at the raid and at the arena to remove quickly (and alot of money for summoning crystals) then you better just die and rez/buff, takes only a few sec anyway. and you will have to die when prophecy wears off, since weaker classes can't tank rb without prophecy of wind (which has built in vampiric and attack speed and patk bonuses)

you usually need about 6-7 raids to get to 40 from 20.

for other than fighter classes, you just party with subclassed destroyer level 40 with DHA/plated leather+6 and do the same stuff, but with 32+ raids. also you should get some high level pet on destro so that he would not gain xp too fast. or just cancel subclass to get back to level 40 but that rules out the tattoos...
;) Just a + on the guide (really good one BTW)

from 35 to 40-42 i'm used to get money + experience with the einhasad templar and dusk/dawn quests ...

Why ? those quest are pretty nice to get money : as far as i remember i earned around 1.5M with templars ones, wich is pretty nice at for a 40 -

adding them to the class quests and fact the 40- do not pay any gatekeeper anymore, it's pretty nice to have easy money with some good experience.

Starting them at vitality lvl 4, i'm not getting XP with grind anymore except for last half XP needed to get my 40 (i'm leveling most time buffers or healers)
This guide is obsolete on the basis that it was written 4 years ago and the game has had major changes to it's low end content. Please refrain from continuing this thread.
i run alty toons for the clan academy and after doing it for hundreds of times over i pretty much need to find the quickest way possible. what i find to work for me is poling down in the catacombs. the only problem i have is the vitality so it often takes me weeks to finish a toon but at least i'm not working as hard as i should.
