Tune in to MTV2 on Friday, August 26, at 10:30 PM Eastern time to see a music video unlike any other, starring characters from your favorite MMORPG, Lineage II!
Lineage II will be making its debut performance on MTV2's innovative show Video Mods (http://www.mtv2.com/#series/13696), which combines video games and popular songs from great artists to create a killer music video. Don't miss it!
Is there any chance the video will become downloadable from the webpage? I have no way to watch US TV, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who would want to see it nonetheless.
ETA: Two fools, and no more one thought between them...
I'm going to be moving in a billion different directions at the same time so bear with me sarge.
Is this CG supplied from NC to MTV2?
If so will it be offered as a download so the community can make their own videos?
If not can NC get the rights to offer it to the community?
In terms of the company CG video on the web site, can NC offer the CG files so the community can make a mini lineage movie?
If not can NC release some CG for the lineage community to make a movie?
I will be recording the Lineage MTV2 video coming up with the idea of letting people add their own music to the video. Who else is doing so?
I see a great opportunity for NC and the Community

Let me see if I can answer your questions.
Yes, the CG trailers were provided to MTV from NCsoft. This deal has been a while in the making and we're all very excited at its fruition.
I will have to ask if the video itself will be available for download on the L2 site, but I believe it will be on the MTV2 website in any case, so I don't see the difference there.
As far as making the CG source files available, I have to admit being a little out of my depth there, but I can ask. You bring up some interesting concepts. I might smell a contest brewing!

I watch MTV every once in a while. Its awesome what they can do with the characters(i wouldnt be surprised to see a dwarf do the moonwalk) if u ever seen one before you know its cool.
Yes, NC supplies most of the CG assets and MTV supplies the music. And, personally, I think the song is pretty cool, but musical taste varies wildly, or so I'm told. :)

I personally think the last 20 is the best ones my self, who cares for a T-shirt or the dvd collecters set!!
60 day free acc thats just awesome!! I.e. I start my new acc and p lvl a SE and a prophet for free for 60days.
MTV is doing what's been done by people on the 'net for YEARS. Hopefully no one actually thinks that this is original. AMVs have been around for a very long time. MTV just realized that they could make money off of it.
Which means it (the concept and entire community of AMV creators and lovers) will shortly be ruined. Thanks MTV.

I fail to see the similarities between an AMV and a video mod?
...an AMV is just clips from an anime with music added. A video mod is a bunch of new custom-made animations for the music in question. It's like if you'd take the characters from your favourite anime and then reanimated them by hand playing the bongos to fit the music... and atleast I haven't seen any AMVs that serious so far ;) (but I could be wrong)
That was pretty cool. Some nice exposure for the game, to be sure.
The song they chose was somewhat... ***-twitchingly awful. I'd kind of liked to have seen movements from the guitar and bass players that were better coordinated with the music like in other video mods offerings. They didn't look like they were getting into it. :D
Regardless, it was pretty cool to watch.
Was a disappointing video, thought it would have some in game video or something on it, was just made of the old demo videos I've downloaded and watched a while ago.
Thank so much splatter, I went on the Mtv2 site looking to see if they had the video yet in their archives, to no avail. Oh well, get this "mirroring" thing done quick, I'd loove to see this vid :D!
Is there a place to download this because it takes about 10 minute to buff it so i would just like to download it can anyone provide a link to where i can.
That's pretty cool. It's probably best that they used CG instead in ingame play. Usually the only ones that get benefit from watching ingame play are the players themselves. Though you never know.
"By combining some of our audience's biggest passions, we're extending the life of some of the most popular video games and characters through the world of music and is representative of the type of programming that we strive for at MTV2."
In your opinion, what music would have fit L2 properly AND been able to fit in with the MTV 2 audience?

I hate the song and band featured with a near passion, so I guess I'm a bit biased... it was overall ok. I would have liked to see any kind of dwarf, male or female T_T

Nightwish... Hands Down!
Nightwish indeed. I think Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, and Dragonforce all would have sufficed also. They are cool types of bands where you couldn't be sure if it's targeted at metal heads or dungeons and dragons players.

I don't think the LE guitarist was stuttering out of any creator's desire to imbue her character with withdrawal symptoms. Just craptastic animation. I was hoping for a little more original footage. I don't have speakers on the computer I used to watch the video, so I didn't even hear the music. It's probably for the best (http://www.youhavebadtasteinmusic.com).

Not only is CountZero (AKA Ash) a Simpson's fan but he used the word Craptastic (re: simpson's reference "craptacular")
Me thinks we will see more of the real "Ash" in the coming months...

I don't know. I think for the first attempt it was good. They used what they had on hand.
If you look close at the human that got killed in the E3 2005 - Cinematic video he's the same one as the singer in the video.
**Edit**
And on a side note.. I cann't believe ash just said that.
Hehehe, nice.. i was goin to the MT2 Video Mods webpage for like every 5 hours ever since this thing came out cause i was unable to watch it. (was playing L2 and forgot about it). Now that i saw it though, I believe they should of put all the races there dancin or doin stuff. Oh well.. maybe next time
Thats the thing most people don't understand that complained about the video. A person has to start some where when they do something. For the first shot at it i think they did a good job, cann't wait for the second MTV video mod from NC.
I liked the fight seens with the humin and the DE, very very cool.. I didn't understand what the deal was with the female in it tho, tring to figure out the meening to it.. some how she gets hurt by dusk wining the compation.
(hince the moon turning red with the eye)
It also leaves off at the end too, where she falls but no one wins. well what is cool is they fight and that turned out good.
I didn't like the humin singer I just did not like his danceing thought it was anioning!

The video you were talking about the blood red moon with the eye and the DE falling down... Is from L2 movie short, look under the movie section of the web site you want....
E3 2004 - Cinematic
The LE guitarist was very .... mechanic. But the Orc Basist is good. I really the like the MTV overall and can;t help to notice the armour piece for the singer that cover the most important part is so prominent.....
