Clan level 6

Add lvl 6 for clans, figure out the SP, Adena, quest
cost, but once a clan is lvl 6, the clan leader will have the option to transfer leadership of the clan to a different character in the clan, at which time, the clan is then deleveled to 4.
I like the idea
Hmmm... yeah I like it. Although I think this level 6 quest should be easier and limited to the leader and "soon-to-be-leader" only. That way, both the leader and the soon-to-be-leader have consent in the matter, and the quest isn't so hard that it requires the whole clan to take on.

Really like the Leader and Leader-To-Be part. You can see it as a way for the new leader to prove he is capable of leading a clan.
yes, I like the idea.
yea good idea, has been a problem for many clans when their leader has to quit and they are like lvl 4 clan or something. A quest to transfer leadership is a pretty good idea.
what happens when the to-be-leader
quits/leaves the clan ? back to lvl 5 ?

what happens when the to-be-leader
quits/leaves the clan ? back to lvl 5 ?

If the quest was to be taken by only the leader and the successor (which is a great idea), and then the successor quits/leaves clan, then the quest would be cancled - leaving the clan at lvl 5 - since both parties would need to accept and carry out the quest.
If the clan leader leaves the new guy has to level a new clan. Simple. Or! If the new guy wants the clan he has to fork out all the SP, all the Adena, and do both level four and five quests again!

Owning a clan is a defining action for a character, it shouldnt be allowed to just be tossed around.
oO please give me a break,, not delevel the clan back to 4.
I think the idea of a successor is a good idea, becuz alot of clans disapear for that reason only, the clan leader needs to leave is duties of clan leader.

But i dont think it should be restricted to a lvl6 quest or something, it should be an option in the Clan window, where you could just past on the flame to someone else.

The reason for this is that alot of clans wont even get to lvl 5. What i mean is that if a clan leader needs to leave/quit, and isnt lvl 5 then he looses the chance of passing on the flame to another member.

So make-it an option in the Clan window and thats it. Alot of kewl n fun lower then lvl 5 clans are outthere, and god knows how long it takes to get somewhere,so.....

cheers!!
I lot of money and SP goes into a clan, you shouldnt have ANY way to bypass that. Switching leadership without going through the EXACT same steps as the first leader is a no no.
That doesnt make sence to me, then make the quest change available at any lvl. My point is that not every clan will be lvl 5 when the clanleader decides to step out, then what? restart everything from the ground up..Why?? The clannies might still want to stay together, so im sure one of them will step up.

Think about all the players involve in this clan.. What if someone wants to assume leadership of the clan, let him do it. If its to save the clan from dispanding all together....

If he watns to do it, then make him do a quest, if its that important. The point is that it does cost alot of SP and adena, why make someone redo all of this. Aspecially if that clan is already up and running...

Cheers!!
Why make them redo it? Because it is supposed to be a sacrifice to level a clan! What would the new leader be sacrificing? If all the members want to stay together then elect a leader and get him to level a clan and everybody join it.
Ya ok!! but i dont see it as a sacrifice this time around. It s just to keep the clan together. And chances are the person interested in taking over might of hlp the clan leader do is thing, by forking alot of adena and hlping that person get SP. So he sacrificed himself to, by helping a friend aquire a clan maybe, who knows??

This is way more completed then it should have to be, this new leader will still have to keep this clan working and together. How big a sacrifice is that.. thats a big job.....

cheers!!
The sacrifice is skills. You LOSE SP, which means you LOSE SKILLS, which in turn means your character is not as effective as other people's. THAT is the sacrifice, not grouping with somebody to level. THAT is what it will take to be ANY form of clan leader.
I agree with you on that, but thats only short turn, once they reach the desired clan lvl, these guys will get the XP bck in no time.

But if you ask the question to any clan leader rght now, if they had to choose to past the tourch over to someone else to keep there clan going or dispand-it and loose everything they work so hard to get, that they would actually choose the later one...

In my experience, they would not choose to dispand, they would choose someone that they deam wordy of succession and thats it...

cheers!!
I am a 2x clan leader. Level 4 and level 3. My level 4 leader is level 70 now and still has skills he doesnt buy, and I die a LOT (<-- suicidal).
wow, impressive!!

I got the impression you where talking from that perspective...lol

Gratzz on your clans tho, it does take alot of sacrifice, hands down to you....

But in your place, i would not want to loose all of that, you acomplished alot, why not let someone carry the torch for you.. (Asuming you wanted to hand over the torch tho..lol) and keep your legacy from being extinguisted for ever...(lil dramatic but its just the idea i want to convay)

cheers!!
Because who says the person who would take over would deserve the clan? Unless they are willing to sacrifice the same as every other clan leader they do not deserve one.
Agree again with ya, but theres no way to know that..right?

But the option of doing so should be made available to the clan leader regardless.
Its a clan leader dicission:
1.To pass the torch to someone else
2.To disband the clan.

Whatever the decission, they should have access to number 1, if they want to.

cheers!!
With SP scrolls in game now, the loss of skills isn't really a viable argument anymore. One reason that we may want to hand the reigns over to another worthy clan member is that many people that play this game are in the military and must deploy for a certain long term, or a college student who must stop playing and focus on studies, but they want to be able to return in the future to the clan and friends they have made without penalizing the clan by not having an active leader.
The reason I would keep this to lvl 5 clans, is so that we don't get a lot of clan leaders, who are dissatisfied with the character class they originally chose, shifting the clan over to an alt.
The reason that I would delevel the clan to lvl 4, is to give the new clan leader the opportunity to prove him/herself as a leader, and to make the clan shift fairly costly.

Because who says the person who would take over would deserve the clan? Unless they are willing to sacrifice the same as every other clan leader they do not deserve one.

I don't think that anyone who has built up a clan to lvl 5 would just turn over the reigns of the clan to just anyone that happens through. Give the clan leader a little leeway to decide what is best for the clan that he has built up.
How about just a quest to transfer clan leadership. The trasnferee would have to sacrifice a certain amount of SP at the end of the quest depending on the clan level.
hey lloth u doing something wrong :) im level 65+ level 4 clan leader i got my last skill set all my skills and still had enough to level up to level 5 if i wanted :)

At 65+ SP isnt really an issue with clan leveling if your an Archer, Dorf, Dagger, or Tank.
Sacrifice, Sacrifice, Sacrifice.

Enough, that word ****** me off. You shouldn't have to sacrifice THAT MUCH just to lead a clan. I've always hated that a % of SP wasn't donated from all members in the clan toward the clan's level. A clan is not an individual; a clan is a GROUP. EVERYONE in the group should sacrifice for the clan, NOT just the leader.

I am all for a way to transfer leadership. I've seen too many good clans die because their leader just disappeared or decided to leave. There needs to be a way to claim a clan from an inactive leader, too, though.

I'm a buffer, I have more to upgrade than you. I have all my basic skills, like you, then I get to spend a few mil SP on a dance each time.
Before they shall change enything they shall inplant so clan leader can give rights to clan members so they can take out from clan wearhouse end then they shall inplat so clan leader can chose a second command leader why they not have done this from begning is a question its self

The clan can buy the leader SP scrolls when the clan wants to level. Leader doesn't need to be spending his hard-earned SP for the clan if his members are willing to back him.

I had actually figured that was the point, but it wouldn't be the first time I've overestimated clan cooperation.
1mil Adena for 100k SP? You really think it is worth it? If they wanted to spend that much I would rather they give me a check.
Maybe I'm weird but I don't think that's very expensive. If each member of a level 4 clan with average character levels farmed a day or two and gave the profit to the clan, you'd have enough to buy the SP scrolls for level 5.

If you want to try to convince them to just pay you...who knows, maybe your clan is just that generous?
100k SP is farmable in half an hour at upper levels, a mil Adena is not (without the manor system :P).

SP Scrolls are not in the spirit of the sacrificial nature of clan ownership that they were originally intended.

I Agree 10m =1m sp Really Crazy
I really like the OP idea.

Having had to do a reshuffle in our own clan, when our leader had to take a sabbatical, I know how much a headache it can be; but I also worked side by side with a clan leader who was seriously gimped throughout his L2 career. Having recently returned he is still catching up on skills that have been under-levelled and it will probably take to the cap before he can max them all.

An easy transfer would make light of the sacrifice he made to provide a group of players with their own community. Ofcourse we also need to honour that sacrifice and the OP's suggestion gives us the best of both worlds I believe.

Thank you for the kind words. I am glad (not happy... ha ha) to see that I am not the only one to experience this.
Excellent Ideas!
Any other thoughts about this?
Still a grand idea

Level 6 to transfer leader ok i can buy that. But it still should involve clan it is a clan quest. No one leader can do it himself.

But if your not out to change the clan leader have option to just expand clan size. and the quest would require you to kill say "Clan raid Raid Boss" that all memebrs must sign up for at least 2/3 of clan.

Other wise I think the transfer of power should also include some type of sacrifice as in lvl 4.

Trust were the leadership of the new clan leader depends on them completeing Quest together. Not some wimpy hand it over kinda thing.

If your active and want the already developed stats of the clan then you should work for it other wise create a new one wait the seven days and use same name.

No one will miss a beat . while your waiting farm the necrops for massive AA if your high lvl should not be a problem.

Then work your self back up to lvl 6 for that 2nd option that I mentioned say 50 peeps to expand the size and implement the suggestions that are being generated on this thread--> http://boards.lineage2.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=526009&page=0&view=collap sed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1#526009

I like the idea of a lvl 6 clan quest for either leader transfer or more members, both good idea's, i also like that clan goes back to lvl 4, Because it does allow for the new leader to prove himself, and it also allows em to still do sieges. I mean Yes Being a Clan leader does take sacrifice, in game and out of game sadly. So why shouldnt you be able to hand the torch over to a good friend that you can trust? I know of an Alliance leader who had to disband because of military, and that also has to suck.

There should definitly be more to the clan system alltogether personally
You should actually be able to assign people certain jobs! (clan crafter, 2nd/3rd command, recruit officers, spokesman etc...) Allow the 2nd and third commands to be able to get privelages to *give privelages and withdraw from WH* clan crafter can also withdraw from warehouse. Maybe allow spokesman to have another chat menu, to allow talk from other clan spokesman's to be visible, etc.

(Also maybe for kicks, give clan leaders some bonus' (2% extra hp, +5 to all stats) and the higher clan lvl the higher bonus.)
lvl 6 clan holding the alliance, allows up to 2 more alliances to make a full alliance...

perhaps....

Thnx for posting in my idea,
but your idea is great.

this is a very flawed thing because
1. they could take every last thing out of wh and leave with it. youll say its a trusted friend. in player guides section people who knew their friends in real life via tele phone, address etc. STILL got scammed.

2. it would allow instantaneous transportation of goods, youll say the monster track already does that, but guess what? u cant go to monster track from noob towns such as dwarf and orc land making someone w/ a clan warehouse have an advantage on soul ore and spirit ore then someone who doesnt and still has to pay for port costs.
like the idea, but the quest should be extremely hard, including some new quest-only boss that doesnt drop anything (so that the raid farmers dont always kill it) and at one point you need to have ALL of the members of your clan in the same place at the same time. i think its dumb that the lvl 4 quest can be done with 4 people, and when the other members log on you tell them "oh yea by the way, we got the clan to lvl 4". would be a great way to keep clan halls, i am still bitter about loosing the one we had before the leader of my current clan left to play another game and we reorganized.
PS: and make it a one-time quest.
this thread is kinda moot since in c5 they are adding clan lvls up to 8 i think...

and yes clan leadership will be transferable and you only have to talk to an npc. :)
