Item values for Sale?

Why isn't there a location to find an accurate price list of all items in this game? There are too many scammers in this game that are throwing the economy off balance by over charging. Developing a price list in the recipes section of this website might eleviate some of these problems.
Nearly everything you buy isn't anywhere near it's true value (eg. crystal or craft costs) and prices vary each server...players run the economy not the npcs so best you can hope for is to get friendly with people who are always up to date on item prices.

Stuff like top C weapons sold by everyone on Devianne for 12mil+ when thier "value" is more llike 6-7mil (though you'll never ever see that price).
Taxes and rare items are issues too, although there's no excuse for all the people selling items you can buy from the stores for above those store's prices.

Even if NCsoft added the npc values of all items to the site it would have no impact on the sell prices people use.
You are correct on this, however, If there was a location to list clear-cut item prices, it would protect against scammers and massive daily inflation.
I've been playing this game for about 8 months now, and have seen a 50%-200% increase on various items. The economy will soon force players to break the rule of purchasing adena, just to further play the game.

The price of weapons/armor is determined by what it costs to craft these item. Since base materials do not cost anywhere near what the NPCs in game think these materials are worth (since the players farming them want to earn money by selling these items and charge for their farming work, which is completely understandable any in no way a "scam"), the crafted items increase in price accordingly. Add to this stuff like e.g. A grade and B grade weapons/armor for which the recipe itself is a crafting material (i.e. it vanishes after one use) and that some of these recipes are RIDICULOUSLY hard to get (drop only at a very low rate), which causes the players who find one to charge accordingly for it, and you will see that there simply is no way a list of "official prices" would be anything more that a joke. Prices are determined by the market itself, not by NPC prices coded into the game. Just think e.g. what would happen if some alliance decided to buy up all animal bones found on the market. The next day, the price for freshly farmed animal bones would skyrocket, causing all items crafted using animal bones to increase in price, too.

We actually had a discussion like this a while ago when somebody found a list of the NPC selling prices for items on some other website and stated that items should not be allowed to be sold for more than twice this selling price (i.e. for what the game "thinks" these items are worth). That idea is simply out of touch with reality, since some materials, especially recipes, are so hard to get that the NPC prices are simply far too low - they do not figure in the time and money investment necessary to get them. E.g. the recipes for a grade gloves/boots/helmets are so hard to get because the quest is extremely stupid that many people would willingly pay ridiculous amounts of adena just to finally get them and craft their A grade set. And why should anybody then willingly sell at a lower price?

Your suggestion would just lead to frustration when e.g. somebody walked through Giran shouting "WTB Sword of Miracles 21m", just because that is what the NPCs think the item is worth - when in reality the blades alone cost over 40m to buy because they can only be earned as a random reward via a quest.

These players are idiots. They're lazy, and they've got no real commitment to the game. Just themselves, their uberness, their image.

A real player will realize that the economy has gone bonkers - and take advantage of it. A real player will contribute to the economy by at least having a dwarf alt or a manoring alt to help flood the market with high priced materials. This will not only bring prices down - but rack up a pretty profit for the player too.

Again - those who buy adena are weak -- and by purchasing adena to purchase materials and goods, they do nothing further then raise the prices up even higher for the next person. So adena buyers are not only weak - they're short-sighted, and they are the ROOT of this [self-censored] [self-censored] [self-censored]-ing [self-censored] problem.

Keep that in mind before rationalizing adena purchasing by blaming farmers or other players who have taken the time to use the economy to their advantage. I have created a dwarf alt, and am contributing about 1000 bones and animal skins to the market a day off spoils alone, and I price about 100a below farmers for both.

The economy is player driven. As soon as the players clean up their act. The economy will become cleaner as well.

Think about it.
I whole-heartedly agree that buying adena online is what is destoying this games economy, that is not the intention of this post. I'm trying to find a solution to the ridiculous inflation that happens everyday. Any Ideas?
The only thing I can think of off hand would be to ban people/adena sellers.

Then there is getting to know someone who knows market values on yer server as item values are as dynamic as the people playing this game. :D
I think that in addition to the adena sellers, there should be a ban on bots. Like the ones that i see everyday in NOS, HC, and Branded.

Totally agree. Manor system I can rake in 1000 iron ore a day easy and sell it for 800 and make an easy 800k, and thats at level 30 on my twinked alt. I'll have enough left over mats to craft an emi by the time I hit 40 and enough adena to buy my cgrade armor.
Glad ye agree Aen - but as the OP said - I've hi-jacked the thread. I think I got meself all excited about "people are going to have to cheat to keep up" statement. :D So - what's the solution?

How about an npc in town that lists the averages of player prices sold over a period of 7 days? This will give us a guage as to how overpriced or underpriced the item we're looking at now compared to the past week.

Of course the NPC should charge for his services of course. :D
I like that idea. Just an NPC that states the average prices for items (section out armor, weps, mats, etc...) over the respective servers.
Even setting up a town auction, with a feature item of various grade, wouldn't be a bad idea.
re-hijack
as much as ebayers push prices up its not them that creates high initial prices its the low drop rates
ebayers suck but who can blame a guy for chargeing 10+ mil for a recipie when it takes 3 months to farm it

there can never be an accurate price guide for lineage because the market is far too dynamic it would need to be updated at least once a day maybe more
Hi-jacking hi-jack!

But if we had an npc to give us the average sales for each item by player stores during the past 7 days, then we have at least something to go off by. And being that the averages are obtained from player run stores, then the averages are player driven.

Makes too much sense to me. :D

then me and 3 buddies start chargeing 50 mil for stem and the average is 500k :/

try looking at prices for a week write then down if you have too

try this...
sum of all items / number of items = average price of item

Wrong! :D

It's based off SALES - not sell price. If ye have 50 bajillion farmers selling bones at 5 billion each, the average will not be affected unless someone buys one.

Basing it off sales is the most logical way to go about this, and the further back the time frame goes in calculating the average, the better the average will be. :D
Sales driven averages are mainly modes not pure averages. There are too many factors that are at work here. The cost of base mats rise and fall every single day(hour sometimes). That in turn will raise the cost of the final product as everything C grade and above is mainly crafted (however mammon is getting alot of action too).

Also the ebb and flow of the market also must be taken into consideration. Look at the cost for a Sword of Damascus or a Bop. They are both 10 million more clean (+0 no SA) than and AOBA, etc. Because of their disarability.

You can only play the market if you have time, patience and knowledge. What if I told I bought a +3 Dama no SA for 32 mil. You would say im full of it. I say "HAHA I win you don't". There is also always a deal. Like my doom helmet. 3.4 mil on Bartz. when current going rate is about 5.7 or so. Heck the 100% rec is almost 3.5mil.

Also another thing that helps in the market is buying mats cheaplike and having a friendly crafter that will help you craft for cheap. Salamail FTW!

The market is controled by the knowledgeable and driven by the impatient. I can get all the mats for any craft in about 1 week using a buy store for slightly below market value. Then I can resell the crafted Item at going rate and make a hansome profit.

Cheers,
you know how smart ebayers buy adena?

ever see that guy sellin 1 stem for 500 mil adena theres a chance he is buying adena

also what about scams?

WTS 50000 stem 5a each
price: 50000
quantity: 5

:/
Good point nameless - that would throw off the sales thing entirely. >.<

Bah - ok. Scrap that idea. :D
i understand what you guys are saying it sucks when you need the price on something but we have to live with it

i cant count how many times alliance chat is filled with
PC bss its my first time buying
PC fp armor i want to sell it abit higher

realistically there is no way to get a price but to check shops for at least a week but even then some weeks can be dramatically different

nc has alot of other stuff they need to fix meanwhile we should all just fix our lazyness so they can get on with their job
Found a website, that does check averages and sales, and gives prices for various items.

L2WH.com (http://www.l2wh.com)
Not only ebayers. In certian areas of the game, buffers sit selling worthless items (ie a wooden arrow for 25K) for a buff round. These are being purchased almost constantly, unlike ebay purchased mats which I am hoping, would be a lot less used.
