There have been a lot of misconceptions on how you can get the greatest % of res. Because of that I decided to write a little guide.
There are 3 common misconceptions on how to get the most out of your res:
The only way to increase your res is to increase your wit. BSPS has no effect on how much % you get back from your res, only how fast you cast. Wit does not add a set amount of % onto your res. Commonly people say it is +3 each wit or +5. This is also false.
It is impossible to get a 93% res or 95% res or what ever other variation of such you have heard. There is a hard cap of a bonus of 20% added onto your res.
Now that, that is out of the way we can get onto the good stuff. You must understand that wit adds a % onto your res. So you must take your normal res level, for instant 20% and then add on the bonus by multiplying it in. 23 wit gives a 16% bonus, so you would take 20*1.16 to get how much your res is worth, 23.2.
Here is the % bonuses for wit:
<ul type="square"> 17 = -14%
18 = -9%
19 = -5%
20 = 0%
21 = 5%
22 = 10%
23 = 16%
24 = 22%
25 = 28%
26 = 34%
27 = 41%
28 = 48%
29 = 55%
30 = 63%
31 = 71%
I picked this range because if you have less then 17% wit perhaps you shouldn't be resurrecting people. And 31 is the max because thats what an Elven Elder with +5 wit and Blue Wolf should have.
You should now be able to calculate what ever your res % is. However just to make things easy, I will now list the res levels and what wit you need for max. I will also list the wit below it if its within % or so of the max.
Level 1 res, 0% back. Wit does not matter here.
Level 2 res, 20% back. 35 wit needed to get a 40% res, but this is impossible.
Level 3 res, 30% back. 31 wit needed to get a 50% res.
30 wit will get you a 48.9% res.
Level 4 res, 40% back. 29 wit needed to get a 60% res.
28 wit will give a 59.2% res
Level 5 res, 50% back. 27 wit needed to get a 70% res.
Level 6 res, 55% back. 27 wit needed to get a 75% res.
Level 7 res, 60% back. 26 wit needed to get a 80% res.
Level 8 res, 65% back. 26 wit needed to get a 85% res.
Level 9 res, 70% back. 26 wit needed to get a 90% res.
25 wit will give a 89.6% res
And thats about everything there is to know about maximizing the % given back from resurrection. Comments and Questions will be appreciated.
Here is a post to provide creditablity to my faqs. I wish I could ask Sarge to verify that my faq is correct, but I don't believe that she would not be allowed to say so.
I can confirm that rezzing someone in BW light, which has -1 WIT does weaken your rez.
I'm an EE with 4+ WIT tat. In my MJ robe set, my rezzies are 75% (20%) over base. (MJ robes have zero wit bonus/penalty.) In my bw light set, which is -1 WIT, my rez is 73.7%.
*Note: She has a 55% res and 27 wit with Majestic robes which gets her 75% res. When she switches to BW she has 26 wit and gets a 73.7% res. Right on target with my faqs :)
Actually, if that person is asking what I think they're asking - no, I don't think ressing someone with a WIT modifier so low (through tats or whatnot) that they would lose experience when you res them would actually cost them experience.
So from your example, lets say a level 5 rez which gets you 50% back, you stated you would need a WIT of 27 to get the full 20% bonus which would bring you to 70%. But then above that you have a wit of 24 will get you 22% bonus, so why couldn't I have a level 5 rez with a 24 WIT and get 72% (well max out at 20% and hit 70% rez)?
It is impossible to get a 93% res or 95% res or what ever other variation of such you have heard. There is a hard cap of a bonus of 20% added onto your res.
Here is the % bonuses for wit:
* 31 = 71%
And 31 is the max because thats what an Elven Elder with +5 wit and Blue Wolf should have.
At level 74, Elven Elders get Greater Resurrection 7: Resurrects party members and restores about 60% of their Exp.
So, 60%*1.71% = 102.6%...
Will someone please explain why this will not work.....

Because the bonus is capped at 20%, so it can be max 60% plus 20% = 80%
Like the first post says:

So, even though 31 wit would theoretically give you a 102.6% res (would be nice :) ), only 20% of the 42.6% bonus are actually used. That's why the original post says that 26 wit are enough to max out a 60% res.
I have a 65 bishop in my clan with a +5 wit tatt and she has a 75% rez with majestic robes on. If she had here bw robes on with +3 wit would her rez% go up another few % as 1 wit supposedly is nearly 5% rez added? or is the increase only attributed to the +5 not the robe bonus?
I havent bothered to do all the checking but u have more like a 80% ress with just your maj on. With your BW you definealty would but thats it. I myself have a 70% ress and im just 56. BW and +4 wit. Bishops > All. Too bad everyone thinks two SEs > All.
That is too bad. When I'm on my SE, I like to bring along an EE in groups. I'd take a bish instead of an EE, if it's an archer/melee group (either one works). Two different healers are mostly always better than two of the same. (Just too bad bishops are rare)
