I wanted to take some time to address my goals and thoughts on the future of Lineage II. As the Associate Producer, my focus is introducing new and diverse content tailored to our player base. The main delivery device for this content will be in-game and out of game events. As the head of the event team, I hope to ensure the quality, balance and consistency of events that reach the land of Aden. The recently completed Arrowhead Run Event is an example of what we are trying to accomplish. In essence, this event was also a test of our creative capabilities as well as player response. I enjoy reviewing constructive player feedback and will try to incorporate feasible ideas as often as possible, so keep posting. I actively read the boards, and will try to post information where I can. In my opinion, events should be fun, first and foremost. My plan is to run as many events as we can support. There should be something in the mix that everyone will enjoy. I can make this statement: our current plan is to have no less than 3 more in-game events this year, and plenty more in 2006. At this time I would also like to introduce the rest of the event team to the boards. Kragg and Kyleran have both been working on events for a while now and will also be here to address your questions and feedback about Lineage II events.
We may support the game, but the players create and define its personality. I would like to redirect our focus to our community itself. Our Online Community Relations department is planning to run more contests in the future that will highlight your in and out of game creativity. Be nice to Tisirin, Sarge, and Mistryl. Our community has a large pool of talented people as shown by the amazing fan art we have received so far. Keep it coming! ( http://www.lineage2.com/community/fanart.html )
Im also delighted by the recent slaying of Antharas on the Gustin server, congrats to the Heaven, LaCosaNostra, and Malevolence alliances. Massive cooperative game play is where Lineage II really shines, and we plan to run some events that will inspire more of this in the future. Player versus Player combat is another thing that we do really well. Our future strategies and efforts will be aimed at enticing a little more healthy competition.
Lineage II has changed and evolved a great deal in the past two years and will continue to do so. Chronicle 4 will be a massive update with plenty of new features to explore. We look forward to releasing more detailed information, assets, and schedules in the coming months.
The raindeer event - kill some that you can find anywhere in Aden and get some special cool drops. Things you can't get normally. The only addition would be to make the drops based on the level of the killer (so a sub 20 can't get an A grade weapon), and to make the deers the same level as the area mops (so an A grade player isn't on TI farming)...
Oh, and look at the famous Halloween even a few years ago. Special hidden pumpkin critters, needed a special helmet for so you lost your set pluses....
Other than that, welcome to the machine. Post more often.
I'm glad to see more and more posts like this to keep us updated. What NCNA needs is autonomy to fix the NA specific problems of the game, and to tailor the game better to the NA market. If that happens, I have no doubt L2 can be truly successful.
But do you have any opinions on, for example, the Seven Signs event? Is the Dusk Priestess finally going to call it a day and go home? I mean, she has the worst record of any coach in sports history, at least on Bartz (I think Dusk has won Once). Who the heck hired her? Steinbrenner needs a good tongue lashing.
Anyways, what I'm getting at is, fix the old before bringing in the new? Or will it be done simultaneously? Or do you not consider the old to be broken in the first place? Would love to hear some of your / NCNA's / NC Korea's thoughts on this.
Thanks for the post :) Good to hear theres more events coming up. Just get used to people complaining, no matter what ^^
To the previous post: The seven signs competition is not broken, its the playerbase that is broken. It consists mainly of opportunistic spineless greedballs who rather pay 50k and be done with it than to actually compete and risk defeat.
Edit: All my chars listed below that are not in a castle owning clan/ally are dusk where they belong.
Your heart is in the right place. Players are happy to have frequent events. BUT please try to put some more thought into how benefits of participation in those events are likely to be distributed.
The only "uninteressting" event in L2 for me was the arrowhead run, but all other events i remember where great ^^
I miss something like the "race-contest" long time ago as every race collected items which gave points to the race counter. the winner race got access to some cool items ...
However, 99% of all events i saw in l2 where great in my eyes :) Good that more are coming. A bit unsure iam about the ammount of adena which getting into the game ... sometimes it was a bit much in my eyes .. but i can be wrong

Hmm. If you follow through on this, I might even go back and reactivate my membership. ;)
'Tis my never humble opinion that there has been far too much competition and not near enough cooperation in this neighborhood. If NC can rig up some events that work to reverse the trend, then maybe Lineage II will get back to being a virtual community rather than an endless gankfest of griefers and "pwnage".
Yes events are cool. But I feel that in game problems should be fixed before we hop on the bandwaggon of Events. Put the drop rate back where it was in C2 then come see me. Get rid of third party programs that being used by botters. Then come see me.
We are not Koreans we do not play like them. Besides events do you have any other power over the game?

I hear she's now flipping burgers at McDonalds. Anyway, since NCSoft loves gambling and luck so much how about giving a 1/50 chance of winning a prize if you sign up with the losing side. It can vary from fireworks to enchants or even better things. So first roll, check to see if you win. If you win, it rolls to see what prize(s) you get. This would encourage signing up for the losing side if the prizes are good enough. Since you can only sign up one time, it can't be abused. Well, unless you have 7 toons on an account. Still it limits your signup to once per 2 weeks. Just my thoughts.

Pfft. Only two stars.
Well hell, at least he posted something constructive. You're just trying to up your post count. :p
How about fixing your end of the servers so we can all play? Thats a start. There are serious lag issues going on for a good percentage of your L2 population on servers 1-4.

There's a good number of threads about this over in the tech. section. Of course they all include the "It's not us, it must be you" speech. Oh and the ever helpful "Contact support" speech as well.

It's pretty clear that when a multi-digit percentage of the server is experiencing the same thing, it's not 'us'.
Please do not derail this thread. Also, contact support. CONTACT SUPPORT. Con-tact sup-port. They need your info to help diagnose this problem, whether it's us, you, or little green men from Mars.
Yes, indeed, this game needs more events with little green men from mars. :D
Myself, I like the events that are for regular players. Like this race thing, even tho I didn't get a chance to run it, regardless what you think of it, you have to know that it a profarmer-botter doesn't get the max benefit of the event.
The Independence day events were primarily for regular players.
Both events brought people to do something they wouldn't necessarily have done before.
In contrast, the medals event went best for people who could hunt 24-all-weekend (i.e. botters), and encouraged everyone to keep on grinding like usual.

Don't forget server 5 ERICA has the same proplem.
How about fixing the Lag zones, like the one in GoE.. and the one in giran, where you go from DP to the town and you lag for 1 minute!
The events are great :D
Do you want feed back on event that already happend? or do you want ideas for new ones?
I do like how events are relativly secretive untill they are about to be realesed.
I guess that I would encourage you to try new things and see how its goes, be original, creative, and keep the RP commin.
There are alot of good ideas for events on the game suggestions page,
How about for new years we can do a quest to get a "resolution" and if we fulfill it in X amount of time we get a prize based on the difficulty of the resolution.
