I've noticed some buzz around the starter villages. A lot more then it was a couple months ago.
I was leveling an alt a few months ago and the place was dead. Now there are at least 10 or 20 new players running around. Untwinked.
This is a good thing imo, but I'm also seeing a lot of PKers now going around killing the new players.
I don't know what has caused this new influx of people (C4?), but to those killing them for no reason other then to be annoying is not giving them a good impression of this game. You know you wouldn't be doing that in the normal towns cause there are a lot of high levels around.
PKers in the starter towns are just cowards cause they know there is no risk.
I wish people would grow up, but, meh, this is the internet. Kiddies will always be annoying.
i wouldnt worry about it too much. i mean it's nice seeing new people come into the game, but getting pked is just one of the things you have to undergo.otherwise we end up with these carebear people in their 60s asking why they got pked.
oh and on a side note some one tryed to pk my alt, so i came down there and set em right in their place.
There's a pretty big difference being 50+ and knowing how to play the game and being under 10 and just starting to learn.
Throw in the fact that some might not even have any high level friends or a clan/alliance to ask for help/protection.
Nothing can be done, but I hope it doesn't scare people off thinking they can't progress if they keep getting killed at level 1.
Reason I bring this up I guess is because I have a couple friends starting and one has been killed 3 times already. They are pretty frustrated. They know it's an open PvP game, but at their level they can't even hope to defend themselves. I can't protect them all the time.
well the way i look at it is there are two types of people. The people who just give up after getting pked and quit the game, or the people who get pked and make themselfs stronger to deal with it. yes i know 20-40 people have no chance agaisnt 52 or higher and that not everyone knows somebody, but usually just shouting pker will bring people to your aid.
I love the PKers that cry about you dropping them over and over again. Its even better when they drop thier B grade gear that they put on to try and fight you.
Oblivion go buy a corvette or a porsche to solve your lack of manliness ... thanks ;)
PK'n Noobs is just wrong on all levels. you know it and just want to be a rabblerouser :p
We all had to deal with being pk'd as a lvl 10 newb at some point, especially in the early days of beta/prelude. If people are gonna get ****** about it then, then they won't last too long in Lineage2. that's not to say it's pretty cruddy though.
I remember back in the days, was this LE running around named Cleopatra just pking people all day long around Elven Village.. that was scary back then. made it much more interesting and adventerous to play.. at least for me, it incouraged me to lvl up and kick their ***, instead of quitting :p

hmm? did i say something to ruin your perfect little world? pking noobs is part of the game. i myself got pked when i was a lowbie but i didnt cry about it. if people are gonna be little kids about it then mabye they should look into a new game.
I have 4 noobie pk alts that when I'm bored or a little lonely? I hop on and kill noobies over and over.
Why? Your sweet tears cried on your keyboard waters my delights.
would you like if someone PK'ed your main char or your alts over and over again?
it must be werry fun to play for hours just to get 1% and then loose 4% from being PK'ed...right? (for the high lvl)
I spend around 3 hours just to gain 1 lvl (yes I am an new player on the official server, but I have played litle in some other servers), and it isn't fun to have my game play ruined by some [cencored] trying to show how hugh [cencored] he/she is by killing defensless n00b's/rookies.
If you absolutly have to PK someone PK the **** bot's that is filling the server. I know what I'm gonna do with my alt char...make new karma record by killing bot's
Being pk'ed sucks. Especially if you are new to pvp..its sudden and pointless and for a moment you think why the [Censored] would I play this stupid game? Then you make one of two choices. You quit, or you find a way to get around or get even. The latter usually make it to high levels in this game, because believe it or not..it only gets worse. Only difference is somebody has a reason for killing you.
When I need a break or need to take out frustrations I go to starter villages hoping to find pker's. It's fun. Someday you'll be in that position too. For now, think of it like an initiation...and roll with it.
The concept of the PK'er isn't a bad thing. There has to always be the evil chaotic red, but it has no place in the starter villages. Once you get out beyond your starter towns, and to the bigger towns then i can see it.
I believe that if the pker and the victim are more than five levels apart, then it is unfair. The five level range allows for fighting back. If the pker is only a level above you, then what makes you think you have to cower in a corner and LET them kill you? In real life, if someone tries to kill you, no matter how strong, you fight back. Sure, they won't go red if you die, but if THEY die, you get a pvp mark. ^^
Actually--i think the folks who have generally said "this is no big deal" have it more right.
My poor fighter was pk'd 3 times in a couple hours one night...he's probably been killed 12 times before lvl 20. At first it's frustrating.
Eventually you write down the pker's name and deal with it. The last fool who pk'd him evidently didn't notice clan flag (lmao)....some very heavy hitting friends must have killed that guy's toon a dozen times over the next few days. It appears to me the pker isn't in game on my server anymore (: (hehe).
It all works out.
I even had that same knight back in TI for a quest and a lvl 10 was pking all the brand new players. He attacked my knight 5 times---and he got killed 5 times--before he disappeared (which may be my new definition of ignorance).
Anyway...pking is a substantial part of this game. I don't think it is that big of a deal anymore (although I was REALLY steamed a few times in the past).
Like someone here said....it can serve as incentive. I still have a list with 5 names on it that I hope to meet again someday in game.
getting pk is part of the game. Sucks when its around the noobie areas and from time to time I like to wonder around those areas to clear out any pkers that I come across. Usually tell them to go to gludio or gludin if they can't handle the action at dion to pk (then I usually end up around gludo/gludin killing them anyway hehe).
Just keep in mind that alot of the noob pker's are not new players themselves. Usually they have higher lvl mains and many times could turn out to be people you know. Had a couple ally mates getting ganked around gludin. So I went over that way looking for the pker. Looked around gludin then up to abondon camp and didnt see anyone. So broadcasted that it seem like the pkers took the day off figuring someone else would respond giving me info on where the pkers were last seen. I get messaged from the pker that recognized one of my char's names....turns out I knew the guy from his main way back even grouped with him a lot.
Told him I didnt want to ruin his fun, that getting pk is part of the game but asked him to lay off my ally. That if he keeps killing my ally then I will keep getting asked to come deal with it. He asked who was ally and I told him and he said no problem I will try not to target them anymore. I told him thanks and to have fun even told him that if someone from my ally attacked him then he was cleared to do whatever he needs to getaway or survive. Then got on ally chat made the announcement that an agreement was made with the gludin pker to leave our ally alone. That if anyone had any issues to contact me and I would head back over to deal with it. Then warned them that the pker will not actively hunt them but if they saw the pker and attacked him first then all bets where off and not to come whining to me if you get killed. Since then none from my ally have died to a pker around gludin.
Yes being pk sucks but it is almost a right of passage. I mean if you go to dion and don't die or get run off by HK then your missing a part of the game.

Haha, getting killed by HK was almost an enjoyable experience...He was always so cool about it rofl. Then I would lay there dying and someone would shoot him once or nuke him and he would BSOE away...only to come back like 5 minutes later.
Oh, also. When there is a pker about, the GK is your bestest friend.
