Anyway, today was my first time playing and I must say, the graphics and music of Lineage 2 has totally blown me away. The music even changes as you enter a shop... this game has such a polished and professional feel to it, im still like OMG! LOL.
Anyway, I just have one worry, the town I started in was so deserted, it almost felt as if I was playing an offline role playing game.
I'm an elf mystic for now, where can I go to find other players? Looking for a town with life in it, not the dead, sparse one I started in.
Looking to make friends, join a guild one day.

ya, there's a lack of new player nowadays,and most players are playing PTS for c4, so u wont find many ppl until PTS is over and players return to their normal chars. If u want to see ppl, the most appropiate place is Giran Castle Town, altho its a bit high for alvl 7, i suggest you get around lvl 15 and travel to gludio castle town, that is a good area for you and has some players in it.
Ignore the greifer.
you should stay in elven area for about 15 lvls, that doesn't take long at all to get, but then you can go down to Gludio or GLudin. Then in you're mid 20's head on up to Dion, you'll see a LOT more people there. And if you need help feel free to pm me in game, tho I'm spending most of my time on the PTS right now. Newbies towns are usually dead, but like FM was sayin' they're more so now due to the PTS. You came just in time for the next big update. The higher you get the more fun you'll have, so just stick with it. Or don't - whatev, it's all good.

Koreans love Elven Elder or so I heard, but ElliBellie is right, EE are not that wanted (though the yhave cool Party Recall). Perhaps go Spellsinger or Elemental Summoner, Im a summoner, its challenging but fun.
Elven Elder? No. Sorry, just try something else. Spellsinger or something if you like Elven Mages. But, an Elder ( I have a level 50) gets REALLY boring REALLY fast. You're a "secondary" healer or "battery" for recharging. If you hit 56, you're invited only for your super fast recall.
getting bored with any class is normal tho. I"m a Shiilen Knight and I'm get tired of being a back up tank or the tank when noone else is available. I got bored playing a high lvl Dark Avenger too..I can't imagine being a prophet unless you have a weapon..but you should be paying attention to your party's buffs and heals not killing.

Nah, dude, [censored]' SKs are pretty pimp, it's just they aren't that popular. With the right setup they make a fine tank / DD. I'm talkin' like NM set with a DLE (like +8 - love you kniv3s). Not to mention Lightening strike? You ever tried griefing people with that [censored]? It's sick.
If you want to tank and still be semi-effective in PvP I'd go SK, but you know it's all about what style you want to choose. Personally? I'd go Necromancer at this point - man they're so broken.

Yes, THIS game rocks. Very well done and the support has been gotten better than what was experienced in the past.
Elven elders are hard to level because most exp parties would prefer a shillien elder or a prophet because of the offensive buffs, however if a big party already has a prophet/se you could join in as a healer/extra recharger.
It's a lot of fun playing one and when you get shield buffs at a higher level mages and tanks will love you, not to mention party recall/res will save people a lot of exp loss.
