I think it would be neat if they did a way where Raid bosses interfered with Castle lords incomes.
Say Antharas is running amuck and as such either the giran lord must organize a Raid to slay him or receive no taxes for this two week period due to damage to the territory.
This would have to be a random thing say happens every couple months or so to one of the castle territories.
As of right now there is One major Raid boss for every castle territory.
Gludio-ant queen
Dion-Cruma Core
Giran -Antharas
Heine-Zaken
Oren-Ofhen
Aden-Baium
and in C4 the new territory will have valakas.
things will have to be considered such as a way that lower raid bosses like the core and ant queen can be attacked by a group of players 20+ levels above the mobs. Perhaps raising the raid mobs levels during these times would be workable. Or you couldhave a large scale army sent from these raid bosses raiding the land much like the Independance day event.
For example March the ant queen is running amuch around gludio territory and occasional waves of giant ants appear in the area and attack anyone around them or even spawn in or near the cities themselves. Would in a way be like a continious independance day event which everyone seemed to really enjoy. And with the success/failure of the towns to stop the mobs you could protect or lose the taxes for that period. say the % of the event mobs slain effects the % of the taxes they get to keep.
And there could be one fail safe where if the rid boss itself in this case the queen is slain during this period it automatically becomes a 100% success and the castle lord recieves all the normal taxes.
I think this could really encourage more massive raids and get more clans and allainces to work together. Right now clans help clans take castles and get shares or the castle loot but if they would lose that share due to a raid boss then they might all come together again to kill that boss.
ETA:
I would change one thing from the Independence Day event...
No special Raid Bosses. just hordes of regular mobs that can be found in given boss' lair (lots of ants in case of Ant Queen)
Nice idea but if I was the castle lord and fearing such a disaster, I'd jack the taxes to max as soon as I get the castle. Otherwise there needs to be a predictor (warning signs) of when the beast might attack so the castle lord can gather the forces necessary for defense. Example would be smoke rising from the lair when antharas begins to wake up, or rumblings in the ground with baium, or some other means. Otherwise if the mob just shows up in town and slaughters everyone then it would be no different than training mobs into town.
It could work but the zones where you have to fight these mobs would have to be peace zones. Server Politics are different from server to server and i dont think its far to make a clan/ally that has Aden fight against Baium and all their enemies at the same time. They struggled to capture the castle in the first place and to loose out because they didn't get a free shot at the boss because of outer alliances isnt fair in my book.
This would be done completely randomly like say one manor area effected per month. Now if an enemy of the castle lord what to exploit a natural disaster to weaken the lord then even better this will liven up the politics. And might force mannors run by small clans/alliances to form treaties with others.
so far it seems like 4/5 like the idea 80% not bad but seriously for have close to 130 views and only 6 replies whats the deal please peeps put your two cents in otherwise it won't ever go anywhere
I like the idea in general, but it should be normal mobs flooding the area and not any special raid bosses or the big bad boss himself leaving the spot he inhabits. So, if Antharas is on the loose, Giran territory is spawned with say, Lair of Antharas mobs, Dragon Valley mobs and so forth. By killing Antharas in his lair, the mobs will withraw but if he's not killed, then the penalty you suggested takes place. However, the mobs should go away from the region after a said time. 1month for a region might be too much. 2 weeks might be better since if the area is under attack by more aggro mobs, it makes it much harder for low lvl players to exp in those said areas.
Well no the actual boss mob would not be roaming the manor that would be insane the monions would yes. It would be best if done like the independance day event were a mob army spawns every day outside of town and depending on how successfully they are dealt with would determine success or failure for the manor. IT would not be a month long I would recommend a week maybe two at most yes my month recommendation was that this happened once every month but to only one manor at a time. For this month for this week Antharas can be causing trouble but 5 weeks from now next month it will be baium messing with Aden mannor.
To answer the concern about people interfering with raids to effect the mannor lord I did notice last night while my allaince was killing antharas that there is a cut off. Once people enter antharas's lair a timer starts and for the next 30 minutes no more people can come in and antharas won't attack. After those 30 minutes no one else can enter and then antharas will begin the attack. So perhaps its like this with all boss mobs. You have a period to organize and when enemies could come in and try to stop you before the raid starts but once it does start if no one else can get to you then there wouldn't be any concern about enemy interference
