Dang I was actually planning on doing that, but it looks like someone beat me! Good job and bringing the cometition back. I would have already done it, if my clan would have decided not to be so afraid, and actually go do it with me.
The irony of this is I signed up for Dusk last event period and of course lost. Then I signed up for this event period as Dawn and lost...lol! Dang...talk about bad luck.
Hmm... Well... I look at this a bit differently. With the problem of training mobs out of the cats/necros not solved (only 'punishable') someone winning for Dusk would make almost all of the AFK shops subject to this griefing tactic.
In the past, I've left my vending alt online while I was at work, but not now. I really don't want to depend on some petition to get my gear back if the Dusk win was a prelude to someone planning to grief the AFK shops of Kain.
I don't think the Dusk winning will prelude anything as mentioned above. I do think it will make more people focus more on the competition and not just assume one side will win. In all honesty to prevent said botting issues in the Cata/Necro, I think the server should flip flop from Dusk/Dawn on random intervals. This would keep the competition interesting and fix some our own internal problems. Why should we have to train non-players just to get a room in a hunting area anyways?
Mobs in the catacombs and necropolii will teleport any nearby player out of the dungeon if they are not supposed to be there (like if they logged there during a competition period and logged back in after their side lost the competion.)
The Players so teleported will appear at the top of the dungeon entrance pool.
Someone has been training these catacomb/necropolii mobs into towns, where many folks are not registered correctly for the catacombs/necropolii. Once there, the mobs will teleport these folks to the top of the entrance pool, even tho the folks start in the town.
Such teleported folks can then be trained with mobs to kill them, and they may drop stuff, which the griefers pick up.
With Dusk winning, all the folks registered for Dawn are not 'allowed' in the catacombs/necropolii. This is most of the folks on Kain, including most of the afk shops. The mobs would therefore teleport most of the afk shops to the top of the dungeon they came from.
NCSoft has now said this is an exploit, and is punishable, but they have not put in a fix to stop it. If it happens to you, I imagine you can petition to get gear you drop back, but that takes time. (It is unclear if you will get reimbursed if your shop sold out just before this happened, and your toon was not technically a 'shop' anymore.)
Even though I have been cursed for both of the last two validation periods, I am actually happy this is a competition again. Maybe people that don't own castles will actually go Dawn now...like it is supposed to be.
Oh and BTW...if I was a pro farmer, I would probally have two groups...one signed up for dawn and the other for dusk, so that no matter what you can still farm 24/7. I am sure we will hear about it soon enough if this is the case.
No problem with Dusk winning because half of my toons have signed for Dawn other for Dusk.
Also I dont hunt in Seven Signs dungeons the second weeks because there is no split between Gigant and Liths and I have other stuff to do^^.
But I am a bit worried about the AA cause it will be reset to zero when C4 will come up no? Not that I have so much money in it but I'd prefer keep it lol.
