I have the new Logitech G15 keyboard. Supposedly a gamer's keyboard. One of the reasons I paid so much for this keyboard was the extra macro keys on the left side. I can't get a macro to play out even though in Windows, I can replay the macro just fine. Does anyone here have this keyboard and if so, any hints as to why it doesn't work in Lin2?
I think I can help with this one...I have a G15 myself, and emailed support to verify gameguard was disabling it, and it seems intentional. Unfortunatly I was unable to see if they would ever open it up for use in the future, but I doubt it. Still, at least we have the windows key disabler and the LCD screen!
But ohhh what I would give for them to let us use the G-Keys...
Interesting. On the Logitech site, someone said they have one of those keyboard add-ons for gaming, basically a macro key keyboard and it works so who do we ask for help. Logitech said it was an NcSoft problem and since this is not "illegal", then it should be supported, or so it would seem.

Well, one of Gameguards purposes is to block outside macros. The G15 technically is an outside macro, (LGDCore.exe).
The difference is the G15 is a hardware product by an actual game hardware company. Not a client-built application. So, I still hold out hope they will eventually allow it, but im not holding my breath. At least I can use the keyboard for other games and applications.

This is really ticking me off, I have the G15 on pre-order as well. I'm sick of playing with my laptop keyboard. What kind of company is this that wants to tell me what keyboard I can use??
It's like gameguard is their holy cow, they'd never even consider it's a crappy piece of software that eats system resources, blocks legitimate and unrelated programs, e.g. GetRight. And even hardware.. I can't believe there is no official response to this.

I wouldn't hold my breath. I've been asking since GameGuard first came out for changes and none have been made.
Here again, has to be the most frustratiing about NcSoft. This is one of the issues that it would be so easy for a tech support person to come here and give us some definate answers: Is this keyboard or that other device shown here cheating. If so, the the other device should be made not to work, if it isn't then this keyboard should be allowed to work. Either way, a lack of communications on NcSoft's part seems to be the true roadblock to these issues.
That, and this upgrade of servers seems to be making the servers worse. I can tell you if I screwed up my upgrade of a server here at work, people would be all over my *** until it was fixed. There would be no passing Go and Collecting $200.00 until the first problem was solved.
Would like to report it also as G15 owner I would really like to use my keayboard. It comes fully programed for WOW but L2 disables my keayboard dosent make sense.
Still no word from anyone. The Logitech people are at a loss as to why their keyboard is being picked on. Is there something we don't know?

Makes no sence whatsoever from my point of veiw. I have the keyboard and as a new player am at a loss to why I cant even use the volume control.I can understand the gameguard or whatever its called but since it doesnt seem to have stopped the bot'ing whats the use of it. Waste or space as far as Im concerned.

Every Time I started Lineage II GameGuard Screwed up the media playback. My Friend Sugested to play lineage in a non Administrator Account and it solved the problem.

Since yesterday its freeking out again. Do I realy have to play lineage on a *virtual* emulated system to be able to work on the same time during i have a sell shop open?
I have it working in my setup.
AND NO I do not use 3rd party software to play Lineage2 and YES I have the GameGuard running too.
Keep in mind folks that computers run with services and legacy_drivers. Allso know that companies will more and more make process guarding software available to the general public. Same goes for programs that protect against rootkit virus attack and the like. As much as I love to think that the internet is a fun place to use I allso know that in todays world the Internet is nothing but a Jungle with preditors lucking around every corner.
I suggest you do a search on the web for Intrucion Detection Software (IDS)/Process Guarding Software (PGS) and exsperiment with them.

I am not vailating any of your rules as I use legit IDS/PGS which enables me to work normally with my L2NA game/GameGuard. I did not not in any alter or modify the software. Because I use this software I do not even exsperiance any problem anymore with ATI-CCC drivers and CLI.exe errors. I will be VERY disappointed if the info I wrote here is to be deemed cause to suppend my accounts. The Internet is nothing but information if you know what to look for.
Allso know I DETEST the use of 3rd party programs by scum that have "to play the next level" as it clearly creactes problems we have now for all the legit playing costumors.
In the program, are you telling it not to allow anything to remove the application that allows the macro's of the keyboard to work?
I found the site, and it looks like it keeps applications from changing how other applications are running. So, I see the keyboard application in my task manager, is that all I need to inform the process protector about or is there anything else the process protector needs to know about my system?
While I would love to elaborate on the settings I use I feel I may overstep the boundries of what may be called advise and that of the propaganda of software.
I can not do that since my trust in this game is not too great to begin with. It goes back to the time that we the players were asked by NCsoft if they should get a protecting system to begin with. Back on those old boards we voted not in favour of the protection system we have now.
Besides the info like I wrote before is available on the Internet if you do a search. I am just as novice as I think most of us are.
Well, here is my bottom line.
I installed and played with it all weekend. It didn't fix my issues with the macro at all, and more over, it tended to stop any swapping out of the game to websites completely.
I am afraid I am going with the add on gammers controller as seen elsewhere here.
ok i tried expeerementing with it so i got it to let me use the play and pause etc but the macros wont work ... goodie DAMIT NC you let a nostro work why wont you let the G15
I can't say for certain, but I believe the Nostromo works because it uses Kernel mode drivers (aka Device Drivers) at such a low level to inject kb input into the system that gameguard has no way of stopping it short of becoming a root kit.
There are numerous ways to inject simulated kb input into a system, from simple API calls (easily blocked by GG) to what I mentioned above (can't be blocked by GG). I bet this G15 isn't using a low level driver to inject virtual keystrokes.
Just taking a stab here. The Logitech people can confirm this or deny.
I am useing the logitech access wireless keyboard. and Gamegaurd kills the Itouch software everytime I run L2. to regain the functions of the Keyboard I have to reinstal Itouch. Ive tried Proccess protection / and other programs and gamegaurd wont let L2 run..
Does gamegaurd keep out the Bots.. debateable.. since Ive seen alot of them still ingame. sure it might, and I mean might block a few bots/etc.. but there is one program it dont block at all and everyone knows what it is. Its like how the AA:O game installed punkbuster. sure it works for some aimbots / etc, but there is allways few outthere it dont work for.
There responce to my ticket was to instal an older version of Itouch. but no mention of which version to search for, and ofcourse Logitech removes older versions of there software in favor of the newer versions.
All I can say based on what ive seen, shouldnt hold your breath about them acctually fixing Gamegaurd. its even pointless to contact the company that makes GG because they wont do nothing to change there software, and dont care. they just in it for the money.
