Ignore

Ignore doesn't block brodcast, trade, local. It just blocks private messages which is not enough. If some [censored] is spamming on brodcast i need to stop hearing him, he won't send me private messages so i can ignore him, he'll keep on spamming on brodcast.

You can make it so you dont hears shot by clicking that little a to the bottem left of the trade screen. A check list comes up and just uncheck shout.

Sorry, but that is not what Feline tries to accomplish. And not what I would also like to see as an option.

I do want to hear shout in general, but I would like to be able to block out the spammers.

Turning off the shout channel will block all shout messages obviously, which is not the intention of this suggestion.

Spammed Kitten
On the other hand, if I am getting fed up by one spammer, I just block shout and turn it back on at a later time. I can live without shout for a while.
When I block someone, the reason is that I don't want to hear what they have to say, regardless of what color the chat is.

I would fully support a /globalblock player command.
If spamming is the problem then NC just needs to ban mass spammers.
just take away the macro shouts ^_^
Most trade shouts are operated using third party programs (their length is above that of macros).

I fully agree with this. If I want to read the trade shout in Giran, it'll only bother me if the same person keeps giving their shouts over and over again.
I could go for something like that. But to since we are talking about the ignore functions shortcommings, I think it should give the message that the user is offline when a blocked person tries to pm them...not "X user is blocking you"/"X user is blocking everything"
/signed ffs. I want to be able to -ignore- someone when I block them, the idea being that reading their spam/grief/whatever is worsening my gaming experience.

OkaY what about thoses that are shouting for Recruiting new clanmates what about those are you going to ban them too

i think your first idea was good if you cannot stand spamm then turn of the shout option or choose that you can see it in trade slot you dont need to see it at the other slot available.

Has anyone been banned for it? I've only tried reporting it once, with entertaining results.
lol and cool you shoud see my screenshots! :)
poor you! :(

Probably. I once reportet a guy that was really really REALLY annoying with his obvious 3rd party program shouts all 3 min. over weeks, you heard him asap you approached Giran, no matter what time of day or night...

I reportet him, next day he was gone.

Might have been cooincidence, but he was there for weeks before that, so I credited it to NCSoft :D
I don't usually report it - I save my reports for in field bots. Of course, hitting the sellers hurts more. I'll give it a try soon, see if some of the persistant shouts disappear.
/allblock [name]
/allunblock [name]

these are the commands your looking for
Allblock does not have this function.

It simply blocks out all whispers.
I would love to have a /globalblock <name> function.
There are very few people I have blocked, but that's only because I can't block anyone from shout, without taking that whole channel away, which I don't wish to do.

This is what I would like as well. /globalblock

good idea EQ
