I just got the game, and I"m thinking about moving to sieghardt. What is a good class for a beginning player? I kinda like melee characters, but if casters are best i'm on that too.

My advice is that you read up on the classes and choose whatever you find interesting. Something that fits your player style and you think you might enjoy playing. IMO, picking a "beginner class" is a bad idea because if you choose the right class (for you) then you will most likely play that one for a long time, way beyond beginner level.
There really is no best class either. It all depends on what you want to be good at. PvP, PvE, Solo, Group, Sieges, etc

Good to have you with us. I tend to agree that the best class to start out with is the one you think suits your playstyle, whether it be an in your face brawler, a behind the lines healer, a long distance damage dealer, support buffer, etc.
Point-and-click tands to make it roughly the same basic learning curve for any class, really.
