Wonder if NC uses it will they pay royalties?? Anyway here is the first one. Aden needs a BANK!!! Let the clan that owns Aden control the Banks in every city. Let players store money in the bank and gain interest every week. Let the interest rate be set by the Aden castle Lord. Lets see make interest work like this. The castle Lord can set the rate between 2% and 8% for the people. The Lord gets the remainder of 10%. So if the Lord gives 2% to the people with money in the bank then he gets 8% of the total. If he gives the people 8% then he gets 2%. Why would the Lord ever set the rate off of 2% for the people you ask. Because he would like to keep the castle thats why. A greedy Lord will not last long. No big deal though. The players would still be making free money for having money in the bank. I have more detail to it but it is all optional.
Well, It is a game it does not HAVE to come from anywhere. Magic.. Poof... Or we could just say that the Dwarven mines do trading with Aden and that is where the money comes from. Whatever. For 15 bucks a month NC can poof up some adena for us.
The only way to make money from a bank (in the Li2 environment) is when the bank can loan the money to another party at an increased interest.
So player X can loan money from the bank to buy equipment Y. The bank gets it money from players that wants to make an interest.
And then it gets messy........ Players, quit, scam, give to alts, sell the item to third parties, lose their gear etc. No reliable way to enforce the player to return the money to the bank.
Yeah I think I udnerstand what you are saying, your saying like, everyone who buys an Item from an In game shop, that the lord gets 10% of the tax rate, and the players get 2-8% of that?
Oh By the way guys, adena doesnt just come from monsters, NC soft can just edit a little script, and give a player 1 billion adena if they wanted to.
So yes NC soft could make a banking script that would work along with the Lords castle, becuase you guys gotta remember, your Data for your characters is on their Server, Not your computer, so basically you cant change your stuff unless you **** their server, Or unless NC changes it, other than that even if you replace your Hard Disk Drive on your pc, your data will not be lost from your characters, all you would have to do is reinstall the game (:
Yeah NC soft could make a script for us that would allow this, but I doubt they will, I have been trying to get them to work on the ecnomic system too, but they dont care...
The only thing that is saved into your pc the graphics required to load the game, and to play it, ect, you know what I mean or should...
Mmmm, not exactly.. The player would deposit as much money as they want in to their account. They can take it out and put it in as much as they want to. Every week interest is calculated on whatever they have in there account. If the castle Lord has set the rate to 2% player 8% Lord and u had 100,000 adena in your account then 2,000a would go to you and 8,000a would go to the Lord.
You dont see a reason for it?? Hmmm, perhaps the massive amounts of players that complain about how long it takes to make money in this game. This system can be used by players of all lvls and help increase adena easily and appropriately fot their lvl.
I don't see any value in adding created adena to the economy.
Lin2 works pretty well in controlling inflation, particularly up thru c-grade. The health of the economy depends on removing wealth (gatekeepers, used shots and pots) at about the same rate the population earns wealth (from drops).
yea i understand what you ment :) but its to little cash to make a diferens and would benefit the highlvl much much more, even to a low level 2-8k extra for a week isnt much, and that would meen that they actualy had 100k in hard cash that they didnt need that week. i like the thought but im sorry, cant se how it would benefit lowlvl people.
Man, I would almost agree with you.. Except! The influx of money in to the economy does not damage its health. It inproves its health. Keep in mind that this game is all about the end game which is castle seiging and wars. They lose players that cant stand the grind to get the lvl and items to compete. Think also that the players would not need to turn to Ebay so much. Once they had a strong money base why buy from outside sources. Bye bye farmers.
It would be some strange way to get rid of farmbots though, as the top adena sellers would just put 100 Billion adena in the bank and make the adena sales (which would of course still happen) from the interest.
While I really would like to have more money, than I do have, I do not really fancy the idea of generating money from nothing.
Espcially with the Cops already complaining, that dwarves ruin the economy, this feature would be a way for rich Warsmiths to gain money without selling anything and without killing anything. Oh and of course, the faster adena is pumped into the system, the higher is the rate of inflation we got and the worse the game is for new players.

It is free money. Think of it when u get in to a good clan and you start to pool clan money... Money will start to grow quickly.
i think the kitten had some good points, if everyone suddenly would earn more money we would probably have an influation. why sell an item for the same price when everyone have more cash? and i realy dont think that the castel owners and endgame people need a way to earn money like that. as i se it it would be them who would benefit from it. i wouldnt want to lock up my cash for a week to get that little.. its not worth it for me.

Well its just an idea. NC can do what they want with that one . lol. I have more.
I have no problem with this idea. However, the people who know how to make money won't use it. Just like in real life, you're an idiot if you keep the bulk of your assets in a bank account.
not responding to SirE - he's just the last poster.
woodsman posted the way banks work IRL - and i doubt the dev team is inclined to generate money out of the blue. if they were to make a bank, i would prefer that they made it like real life banks. i like the idea, but it just wouldn't work.
timecop, you need to realise, that NCSoft *NA* does not have any say in what gets implemented and how it's done. it's not that they don't care, it's simply out of their hands. all they can do, is report to korea, what the north american/european clientel feel/our suggestions, IF NC NA think we're being realistic and/or innovative.

Adding more adena to the system simply creates inflation.
If the developers really want to bring prices down then they need to up the materials/item drop rates and leave the adena rates where they are. Currently the lynch pin of the entire economy is that the farmers pull in enough materials to support the bulk of the crafting needs of the community. The high prices is the result of lots of adena, relatively few items and the need for those items being shared by both the high levels and the low levels. The high levels need considerably more materials and have the additional money to offer higher prices then the low level players.
If you dont know how banks work in real world situations, please get yourself educated. You put money in your account and it accrues interest BECAUSE banks use YOUR money to invest and make money off of YOU. For using YOUR money, they give you interest. Thats the point of "interest" in the bank.
Your system here basically gives players free money for simply putting money in the bank? I dont see why a developer would ruin the game economy by creating more adena with a dead-end system? More and more adena on the server but nothing there to get rid of it = massive inflation. Unless theres a reason for putting money in the bank, where the bank itself benefits, there is no need for a banking system.
BlazerX has a little history of seeing what he wants to see. :)
I agree that generating money from nothing shouldn't be possible - there's already a system in game for that, and it will flourish (a little) more in C4: The Manor.
There is also the fishing crafting in C4, which increases the base worth of items by just using MP.
Basically you just need to incorporate some way for the castle owner to use the money to produce goods and make money. The money that comes in through this process is then paid back out to the people that have invested their money.
The process I'm describing would just be called a bank system and in actuality would more closely resemble corporate stock and dividends in how the process actually functioned.
Dont like any idea that involves another player to have any control over my adena. Hard enough to get in the first place let alone having it under someone elses control. I dont even put adena in WH. It stays on my toon at all times.
