The economic system in this game is absolutely terrible... It is terrible because it is not communist. Only a communist system works. Every person's drops/adena should go to a central bank. Once a week these drops should divided equally amoung all the players. It doesn't matter if you farm 1 hour or 100 hours. Everybody is equal in communist aden. This will solve all bot problems. This will solve all market problems. This will solve all gear problems. This will stop all the crying on the forums. GO COMMIES!!!!!111
/edit the suggestion is to make the game communist
While it is reasonable, that all money is pooled and then spread once per week, you forgot, that dwarves are not supposed to get an even share from it and that all the mats spoiled and items crafted need to go to the pool too, to prevent the evil dwarf race from once more controlling the market with their absolute awesome leet powah.
Hey, HIeverybody, you spelled it wrong !
It should read "terrible Line Age ecnomic system" ;)
(well, i can make fun of this guy but i still think that the economic & grind systems could be revamped a bit, it really is the weak point of the game imho, maybe not on all servers, maybe on just one "relaxed" server for casual players or something :p)
Im afraid dwarfs are gonna be the losers in this setup, crafting wepons in a gulag all day just to see them handed over to the rest of the proletarians.
Socialism has its pro's but ill go for good ol capitalism everyday.
I suppose you are kidding in your suggestion... but this game's economics are certainly no walk in the park... I am a relatively new player in fact. It depends a lot on the economics, whether I will ultimately stay in this game or leave. The player killing for me has not been much of a problem, it has been more of an occassional event where I have been the victim.
I can't say I have been griefed to the point of wanting to leave the game... but the economy can sometimes make me cry...
In all seriousness an economic system in wich most values are more or less stable (+ or _ 10-20 % because of taxes)
is pretty well designed. U will notice that only the rare (set completing) items are way off price, this is a matter of suply and demand tho.
I agree it is no walk in the park to earn your first millions but this game provides plenty of opportunity to make money.
U just have to find a balance between moneymaking and leveling.
The system in place now is very good, but is ruined by farmers, botters and ebayers. An entire aspect of the game is destroyed due to this.
It would be nice if they made it so selling adena and items wasn't possible. Maybe soul bind everything, then all we'd have to worry about is selling characters.
I do think that farmers cause inflation, because all that extra cash is being pumped in as if from nowhere. I could resolve my whining by buying adena for myself, then you will not hear me complaining... but if I am willing to pay 4 million for an item, there will always be someone willing to pay 5 million (commercially bought adena). For the average noob... that is an impossible amount to obtain.
the system isnt to bad really, i came back after about 1 year and its a lot better now then it used to be. By adding the manor system adena is a lot easier to come by although idiot castle lords can pose a problem (selling 100000 blue cobols and buying 2000 blue codas per day WHAAA?)
ALso once this commy system is implemented i want to be the financial coordinator  (1 for u, 4 for me)
i'll always be a commie at heart
but i know a system like that will never work
i beleave you americans have a saying "everyone is a democrat {spelling?} until they get money, and then they are a republican"
hope i didnt mix that up the australian political system is fairly different
"If you're under 30 and aren't a Democrat, you have no heart and that if you are over 30 and aren't a Republican, you have no brain ..."
and that is the heart of the issue in lineage as well
lately we have been getting alot of noobs saying how screwed the econemy is and to a certain extent i agree (being one myself at that lvl)
truth is there are ways around it, may not be what nc intended but at around 48ish you should have figured out something
if you havent you are doomed to ebay or quit simple as that

Now that is a real player experiencing a real problem. I think if you'll ask Sillena, there are lots of ways to overcome some of the economic hinderance for new players. Making friends fast and learning the manor system are probably the quickest and easiest. The rest involve hard work and continual grind. If you're on Gustin, pm me or email me sometime and I'll see if I can help.
