Wouldn't it be much more diverse and interesting if orc Temple Knight would have different stats than elven Temple Knight ? What I suggest is to separate base stats to race stats and class bonus. By subclassing you retain race stats and change only class bonus. Done like this subclassing will be much more enjoyable. I think I'm asking too much but hey - it is a suggestion forum :o
Weeell an Orc SpS will have....47 CON and 12 ! WIT-hardly a nuker eh?But this is cross class(fighter-->mage).There is a balance between classes thats made by the basic stats(SH has 19 WIT,Sorc got 20,SpS 23) they make the classes diff(the skills also). So i think this wont be a good idea(skill trading will be cool though-but it wont be balanced :()
Your CON and WIT bonuses are a little too much but basically yes, that will be orc SpS. There is no such thing as fighter<->mage problem - it works for humans, just look at stats difference of human fighter and mystic - it is class relevant.
Imagine Dark Elf Necromancer with much lower HP but better chance to land debuffs or orc Temple Knight which will have more HP and decent running speed.
There will be good choices and bad choices obviously, but this is a high-end content. High-lvl people know what they are doing (usually) and they will have some fun with testing new possible combinations.
Right now subclassing is just a way to reach noblesse, I'm a little disappointed with that.
