ok nc you guys have a dela wth prima and theay have given up on extracting data from the game so will you guys be handing them the data for a c4 prima guide or is the contract going to gather dust ? just figgured it was a smart move with the new marketing push to get a guide
OP: there is no Prima guide, there will be no Prima guide. IF there ever comes a day when they do compile an accurate one, it will be a year after Chronicle 12.
We've been asking forever, its out of NCNA's hands, and it seems to be out of Prima's as well. The universe is conspiring for you to communicate with your fellow players to learn this information.
you want a prima guide? get over 150 k subscribers for NA servers then maybe they will considered it because probably only 20% people buy a guide and for them to make it worthwhile you will need thousands of people buying it since we only have 80k subscriptions probably only 40k real players out of that (minus double/triple/quad accounts and farmers) 20% of 40k you get maybe 8k people going to buy one meaning at 10 dollars a pop
80,000 dollars tops they will make on it. It would cost more then that in man hours to produce it so its not worth even bothering for them.
Get 150 - 200k real people and 20% of that willing to buy is like 40k people give or take and thats almost 1/2 million dollars which is worth it for them to produce.
The problem with the prima guide is that it is out-of-date less than two months after it is printed. I still use my "Prelude" prima guide to look up certain stuff... like crystal value of an item or what not.. and my electronic copy of the C1 prima guide for some quest info and recipes. Other than that, there is nothing about this game that you can not find on the internet somewhere. No compiled guide is necessary.

The reliable drop rates from the C1 guide were nice to have around.
Granted printing those rates kind of affirmed the worst fears of many players and probably doesn't help to win them any new players when you tell them that high level drops rarely have better then a 1/12000 chance.
none of that changes the fact that prima has a contract with nc soft to release the guides. and if you even bothered to look in to it prima is haveing techimal difucultys retriveing the game data from the code so i was asking if nc would do any thing about this. so if you wanan rip on prima make your owne thread
as for l2wh has nc ever made a statement on the program? if not thats the next question i have for them.
Even if Prima were to surprise us with a C4 guide the very day the chronicle comes out, I wouldn't pick it up. I refuse to reward them for the shoddy handling of this contract, the mediocre quality of the first guide, and their outright lies to customers through their website and appearances.
NCsoft shares some of the blame for this mess too (it would take something going wrong on both sides for the situation to persist this long).
Well, between all the information the official site provides (go home team!) and what our fan sites have to offer, we don't need Prima. A physical reference book would be nice, but Prima has shown us that they are not going to make it happen. It's past time for another publisher.
yeah, we rip on Prima not because they have been so slow about getting a guide to us. if that was all they had done, we wouldn't care (as much).
the reason most of us joke on Prima so much is that they promised us, twice now, that they'd have a guide shortly after a new Chronicle was released, however they STILL haven't updated their guide from C1. worse, it wasn't until we spam flooded their forum after C3 went live demanding to know what was going on that they, EVER SO GRUDGINGLY, admitted they were having problems. and then they promised us updates on a semi-regular basis which we didn't get. they've completely mishandled the situation, and then tried to stonewall and, some would say, lie to cover up for it.
at this point, a Prima guide is pointless, anyway. L2 stratics has most of the information you'd need, even some drop data, and is updated in a timely manner. what they don't have can be found by poking around a few other L2 fan sites. for free.

Yes they have, That it's a third party app....
What he said. Yup, if you don't have the ability to do it - stop someone else from doing it ^^ makes perfect sence (if you are trying to take a castle)
Oh yeah, this has already bitten them in the ***, my wife wanted a guide for one of her games and there were two different ones - the Prima guide is still waiting for someone to buy it.
now if we can stop with the retarted comments i was asking NCSOFT if there was any plans to help prima becouse theay have admited theay cant get the info
