What do you think, going up, going down staying steady.
I personally see a decline, i know server full thats great, however that doesnt really mean anything.
I am going to be interested in C4 to see the spread of people, its hard enough now to find someone i mean 4-5 more hunting spots + catas + toi and dvc errr umm i dunno, seems like it may be a ghost town in soem areas unless highly sought after drops.
I think we have a much higher % of new players now than in the previous 2 chronicles. Every time i go play a low level alt i'm astounded by the number of ACTUAL newbs. I mean there' aren't hundreds of them swarming like in prelude but there's a decently steady influx of new blood.
I think we are seeing a new influx of players to Lionna. A few have come from other servers, but the bulk of them are genuine new players.
I've personally spoken with at least twenty that bought the game in the last month and a half. I'm hoping C4 will bring even more.
I do agree, though, that hunting spots need to be better utilized. Making areas desirable to genuine players means (in theory) that you have more people willing to do something to keep the bots out of those areas (i.e. remove the competition)

I actually think it's the same thing. Some old players are quitting the game etc, but if you go to low lvl towns, as physics said, you see many new players, it's just a matter of time until they get high lvl and start playing with us. It's going to be nice to see a new generation of players.
Seems like it's going down to me.
We lose more real players than we gain.
C4 looks like it'll bring fresh blood, but I don't see Lionna enjoying a decent chunk of the new players.
More than half those "newbs" in starter and lowb areas are old players pretending to be newbs, and "automated" characters-in-the-making.
Got a chance to horse around Bartz this weekend on a high lvl char, and I loved it. So many people still play support classes as their mains, that should tell you something.
PS: We need some seriously great events to put some fire in the game.
I still make regular visits to Border Outpost to see if a horde will come pouring down the steppes to invade Aden. ='( we need events that are fun, not crappy events that screw up the server's economy or gameplay. I know, I know, wishful thinking. :(

for every "new" player that starts on Lionna, many more legit, OB players quit. virtually ALL the support class players that i've known since OB have quit or rerolled. i only know 2 or 3 prophets that are actually played by real people. the server lack real players for support. i mean, why try to grind up a prophet or ES when you can just bot one up in 2 months and tag him/her into yoru clan and let a buddy play the account? it happens more and more every day.
but i'm NOT starting over on Bartz, that's for sure. i kinda wish i would have left sooner tho, with Adamant :(
I have been fighting same people for a longggg time now, to long imo. Its still fun sorta exciting, Im sorta blah that i have only stood on a castle wall 3-4 times in 2 years to defend in a siege. thats my downside in the game.
I think a really cool way to dispurse all the competition and pressure and the "need to stay to support your ally" would be a server merger.
I agree there are no support classes, our ally is 300+ people and we cant get a BD or SWS to save our life, and even lately SE's have become nonexistent........its rough to say the least, dualbox can only take you so far.
<3 how people say they need support classes.... NOW!!! Where was this attitude a year ago?!? :p
Actually, lots of support classes reroll because they find it hard to get parties. That's why I rerolled (I know EEs suck for PvE groups, but they are good in PvP so ya'd think people would want to help get them leveled.) I actually enjoy playing a healer in a party setting more than I do a SpS. I wish I could level my EE. But what can I do? Everyone wants an SE for xp groups. (My SE is high enough that I could make her my main, but I like my EE better.) About the only way I can figure out to level my EE is to get a third account (money!!! >.<) and level an SE to 52 for oop empower, then duo my SpS and EE. But I'm not paying for 3 accounts a month so I guess she'll just have to stay at the same level she's been at for the last year. Plus, it's kinda ironic that I'd need to make a support class just to level my support class.
As far as server population, I think it does feel smaller. Most of the people I've known or befriended have wound up quitting at some point. Most of the people around now are "new", to me at least. Seems like 95% of the old "gang" from Cruma back in C1 is gone. I feel like an old geezer! LOL

You just fried my brain.
Please tell me your SE is not on your main account. >.>
You could have just made an SE secondary account and just used your EE to hunt undead mobs with oop empower and regen. or duo with a Bishop or another EE.
Hell, you could have been far more useful to some archer in a duo. you + swift attack potion or prophet buffer.
You is noob <3
Well, I've been here since OB and I have 2 characters that I play most the time. Most the people in my clan have been around since OB or at least since C1. Somehow none of us are 75 yet, prolly spend too much time on alts, but w/e at least its keeping the game fun and interesting. I mean you can only play a bishop for so long before you feel the need to kill a mob instead of just standing there watching everyone else do the work.
As far as server population, I have seen quite a few new players in gludin and around gludio while I'm on my alts. Try to help them the best I can with information for quest and the like. But I think the majority of the server population are farmers. Yeah its great when a bot train gets banned, but its only a matter of weeks before they have made a whole new 9 man team and they are back to screwing up your hunting. Its pretty lame that game guard only keeps [censored] (and the other programs) out of commission for a day or 2 after a new patch. I mean...whats the friggin point of having the **** thing when it does'nt work?
Anyway... as far as new characters breakdown I'd say it's something like this
Legit New Players : 10%
Re-rolls or alts : 40%
Farmers or re-roll of farmers : 50%
and even lately SE's have become nonexistent........its rough to say the least, dualbox can only take you so far.
It's funny, because I've been trying to keep my SE as my main for the longest time. I've been around Lionna for a little over a year now (13 months or so) an I've loved playing Olorae more and more.
The two-boxed healers, in my opinion, do lessen the value of a true support class. It takes a special kind of person to endure the mind-numbing repetition that comes with being a support class.
I have a couple of warriors that I'm playing around with, and they're fun, but I enjoy being the healer so much more.
The problem is: we need more people that enjoy playing healers.

When did being a healer have anything to do with your gender? I just find I'm not a front-line fighter type, personally.
I enjoy playing a healer because I feel useful (even if it is to just throw Empower and VR and then sponge for 20 minutes while the rest of them kill mobs 10+ levels over my head).
I have this knack for dragging aggro, too, so there's still the cheap thrill that comes with combat.
You just fried my brain.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! You are SO funny!
Yes my SE is on my EE's account, because originally, I wanted to level either a SH or SpS to help my EE level (by being the DD) but then I realized how necessary empower is.
An EE's Might of Heaven does less damage (and costs more) than a SpS's Hydroblast. For comparison, the Hydroblast that a SpS gets at level 52 is power 72 and costs 48 mp. Compare that to an EE's Might of Heaven, and you have to go all the way up to level 62 to find a similar power (71) and it costs 58 mp. That's 10 levels and 10 more mp for the same damage. Plus, the range on the spell is incredibly short, making it very dangerous because a.) Many undead mobs stun and b.) most undead mobs are social. PLUS, an EE's ability to regen mana is even more gimped than that of a SpS, because they don't have Clear Mind, Mana Regeneration or Higher Mana Gain. PLUS you can't +++ an EE's INT like you can on real nukers. Enough plusses for you??? :p
Oh yeah, and I had several archer friends but they all did just fine soloing, or at the most all they "needed" was an oop prophet. I did level a few levels with FateofLife in the cemetary w/ oop prophet buffs - it was insanely fast leveling. But other than him, no one else seemed to think they needed an EE for soloing.
I would say the majority of the population are people from the beginning, and is on the decline. Who the hell in their right mind goes to the store and sees an old game for cheap, and says I gotta get that. The only reason the popluations are so high are the bot trains sponsored by well we all know who.... People that are new to the game will be short lived once they see that everything fun is controlled by 1 group of clans. No one else gets a chance to siege, to do RB's, or even have a valid competition for dusk or dawn. This game is only fun for the "select players", the rest are left to chew on the scraps. Soon it will only be the "select few" on the server. As for me I'm an addict and I come for more punishment despite the odds. I need to go to L2 rehab....
90% of new accounts are farmer rerols
5% are second, third, fourth, etc accounts
3% actually new
2% accident got L2 instead of WoW
No one else gets a chance to siege, to do RB's, or even have a valid competition for dusk or dawn.
I raid fairly regularly, and I'm not a part of that 'one group.' I siege every other week, and I'm not a part of that 'one group.'
But I do see your point. The competition is between two major groups now, from my point of view. I don't mind that, since they keep each other off my back, for the most part.
I enjoy where I am in game, and I have a goal that actually doesn't include having to directly compete with either of those factions. I'd like to see a bit more Dawn / Dusk competition, but that has to be fixed first.

fortunately for you, you seem to play the game the way developers probably envisioned.
However, others have choosen their style and only hate and lust can continue to drive it.
Dont get me wrong, we try and do upper lvl raid bosses every week, some times we get to do 1 or 2. Most of the times they are taken from right under our noses. Its not like I would get anything even if we did get them. Just sucks that I will NEVER know what it would be like to have a clan hall, or be a part of owning a castle, or even taking a castle and I beleive that is why most long time players quit, thats why I think about quitting all the time after playing since the game came out. It fun to be on top, but once everyone is gone then what?? I would love to be in one of the power alliances but I suck and PvP and I die enough on my own.
Well, I never thought I'd be a part of an alliance that owns a castle, but now my alliance does.
I never thought I'd be a clan leader, and now I run two. I saw raid bosses as I hunted and thought "Wow, I'd love to do one of those some day."
Now I hunt them fairly regularly.
You don't have to be part of the power alliances to partake of mid-high level content. You just have to know where to look. PM me in game some time, and I'll make you an offer.

I know a lot of long-time players who have quit and bots/raid bosses/farmers/power alliances have never been top of the list as to why they quit (or even on the list, most of the time.) The two main reasons people quit are either because they get bored (after all, this game really is just grinding) or because they have real life issues.
If you have such a problem with this stuff why don't you just join a different alliance, or at least get your clan/alliance stronger so that you can actually participate in stuff? There are lots of mid-60s raid bosses that are not farmed and are available for real players. And really, raid bosses aren't fun. You spend a long time gathering people together, a long time buffing, a long time moving from place to place, all to kill a mob (which usually takes less than 5 minutes.) You can also siege without being a part of Chaos or Invincible. There are lots of other alliances that siege, either with or against Inv/chaos or completely seperate from them.
Really, I don't think you should complain about stuff when you have the ability to change it.
