Do you drop more on death w/full inventory?

I may just be unlucky...but I've noticed that it seems I drop more often when I have a character that has a fairly full inventory. This would lead me to believe that there is a seperate roll for every item in your inventory and if you have more it would be logical you'd drop more often.

Have they ever confirmed how the drop rolls work?
They have not confirmed it.

As a programmer, the way I would do it is to pick a random number from 0 to 5 (weighted towards the 0 side) and this would be the number of items dropped. Then for each count, pick a random number from 1 to the number of items in the inventory and this would be the actual item dropped.

I wouldn't be suprised if this is similar to how it's actually done, as the code is short and simple and us programmers like short and simple code.
I always preferred spaghetti code that gives the instructor headaches. Then on request submit the near 3-4 line code that replaces the 150 lines of useless garbage.
Tested full inventory vs 5 items in inventory.Died 30times to mob.
Seems like you drop more if you have a full inventory
ok someone done a test for this
im too lazy to search for the post but what he done was he wanted to delvl his farmer alt so he took a few runs at some mobs

he tested it over like 100 deaths and the conclusion was... the more you have in inventory the higher cance to drop

basicly his thoery was when you die lineage does a check against every slot in your inventory saying it has a (e.g) 1% chance to drop an item it also checks your weapon and armor slots for (e.g) 0.1% chance to drop. once you have dropped 5 items you wont drop anything else
So the bigger inventory of dwarves is actually not a positive feature?

Cal
Well, I started wondering about this because my dwarf always dropped more... and I have a friend who is a dwarf and he always drops something on death.

So the bigger inventory of dwarves is actually not a positive feature?

right
me walking around constantly with 98 items in inventory is a bad thing
even though it doesnt guarantee that you will drop it definately raises the chance
Ahh, but if the example is correct, then I am going to drop 5 things, wouldn't it be better to have 5 pieces of junk in the inventory than to have nothing and drop something expensive.
You gonna wear garbage as armor as well? Be a hobo! :P

In my experience, equipped armor seems to drop more often than what's in your inventory..

You can't drop your EQUIPPED weapon unless you have 6 or more PK's AND karma, no matter what kills you.

Humm I have..

Basically you would fill the inventory with world maps. That way the theory was that if you drop anything changes would be that you would drop a map more often then a real item.
(if I recall correctly that is..)

Never tried it myself but today you can't buy world-maps anyway.
the map trick works sometimes, but I think that you must take notice to the char, i.e. 2 friends have OL and SK, both seem to drop armors often. what I mean is that the kind of char might have something to do with the drop rate...
I had never heard that you COULDN'T drop your equipped weapon, I thought the chance to drop it was extremely small, but there still was a chance.
Nope, my armor hasn't dropped on my OL or my SR but my PK and my summoner have both dropped their armor.

I ususally run around with a bunch of world maps and reciently all the xmas stuff since it does'nt count towards weight. When I die, then it is just crap that drops.
well like i said lineage performs a "CHECK" against every inventory and armor slot
it then uses a % to determine if something will drop from that slot
i used to run around with 10 maps in my inventory but unfortunately after 45 lvls without a death and a constantly full inventory i started removeing them

so to restate my point
if you have 100 slots and 80 are filled with maps
you die and drop 2 maps
some ppl would say "man that was lucky without those maps i would have dropped my brig helm +9"
other would say "man if i didnt have those maps i wouldnt have dropped anything"

hope its understandable, hard to get my point accross
but basically if you have alot of maps you have a high chance to drop a map
doesnt mean it lowers the chance to drop anything else (unless you drop 5 maps)
I have dropped my equipped weapons while white with 0-5PK count on 3 diffrent accasions (I got one back before someone else came along). I die alot. All of these deaths were in either prelude or Ch1. I had a clanmate leave the game because he dropped and lost his dualswords in Ch1 and couldnt come close to replacing it.

I have not dropped a weapon in Ch2,3 or 4. I have heard Ch3 made it impossible to drop your equipped weapon with less then 6 PK count and no karma.

I think equipped jewlery have a slightly less chance to drop, and equipped armor have a little less chance to drop then jewlery.

This is true. If you do drop your weapon, you should petition. Or rather contact support, considering the "large volume" of incoming petitions at the moment.
would suck if the bigger your inventory , the more you drop is really true. That means doing the fishing quest to increase inventory could be a bad thing aswell...
