i have been able to load the set of c4 cds on two of my pc's when i get to the updater ***'s starts downloading files again ---my question is why did i spend the money on update cds if it is going to go through a very long online update process --seems like waste of money to me ---should i do file check first?
i have the exact same question....im am absolutely furious about this....im on dialup so i spend 20$ on this stupid cd kit and then i STILL have to update?! dont' you ppl put consideration into selling ppl on dialup some false junk that still leads us to hours of downloading....honestly i want a refund.
There may be a few files to patch after you install from the CD, but it should go relatively quickly because it's only a small number of files rather than the entire client.
I dont use dial up but the down load only took 10 min after cd install lot better than hours and hours for 800 mb my disk 2 is messed up along with some other ppls so dont feel so bad we paid for disks and cant install them
fortunantly my disk 2 worked sorry for the flame guys but it's jsut really frustrating. 10 minutes on broadband = 2+ hours on dialup lol. it wouldn't really irritate me that bad if i couldn't read the file saying "downloading animations" i dont' care about animations i just wanna play the game.
True...unless the patch server is inundated with 200K people trying to update....or the update server is down...or the usual mirad of issues that make a monumental task of loading this game a huge pain. This IS supposed to be entertainment.....right? LOL
wow it's worse than i had imagined! 2 hours of updating done so far and ti's only 1/3 the way. lets start guessing on how long the last 2/3's will take :) i guess 3hours...bc i sure hope there's not as many missing files down the whole progress bar!
