My current computer is an AMD Athlon XP 2200. Yeah I know, its time for an upgrade.
Right now when I have L2 running on my computer, in an AFK shop or whatever, I find it almost impossible to run another program without waiting forever for every step along the way. And even before the game loads up, CPU is sitting at a constant 100%, and doesn't seem to waver below about 97%.
Just wondering what everyone else has for computer processors, and how other programs seem to run alongside L2. Would a dual processor use 1 of the processors for L2, and then allow the second processor to be free for anything else? Anyone notice a good jump going the 64 bit way?
Sure it would be nice to just get top of the line everything, but don't have that kind of budget, so wondering how life is somewhere near the middle of the pack.
Yes, I use a dual xeon system... duals or more is the way to go - or a dual core thingie... one cpu spins L2, in minimized shop mode I don't really notice that L2 is running at all... I can go on playing around with photoshop or my 3D package with normal response...
My computer is too weak overall to even have a bottleneck (don't laugh: 1.3 GHz, 512 MB RAM, old graphics card that was bad already when I bought it), and I run stuff OK with L2 in the background - or did as of C3.
I'm not sure what to do since all the new blingbling in C4 has pushed the game well past even its recommended specs. I assume I will have to upgrade.
I am running an AMD 3000+ with 1.2gb ram, some ati 9600 gt vid card. I can minimized out but it will drag a little. Its just the AMD chips that lack in multiple programs, they basiclly rule at a single game, but not 2 at once (i played l2 and warhammer 40k at same time). After about an hour my comp crashed although it wasnt a stable version of windows
