FilePlanet for alternate location to download

I am currently downloading C4 from the L2 web site not FilePlanet. I chose not to use fileplanet due to the fact they track you. If i want be babysat I would move back home AND sure as heck wouldn't PAY for it to happen.

I am on my 5th hour of downloading from the L2 site and I am on cable / high speed connection. The download window says i am at 171% and hasnt moved from 1.13G downloaded for 1.5 hours. Clearly since i can post my internet is connected.

I am not impressed by this being released to only one third party and you have to pay to access that third party.

I dont think you have to pay, you make an account and have to be in the waiting line for a public server first.

Yea you do have to pay . I tried there when I saw that L2 site was only downloading at 65.3 kb.

I Originaly began downloading from the website(L2), it got to 96% and wouldn't go any further saying something was corrupted.

Good times.

Now i'm doing reg L2 updater thing. Hope I'll have C4 sometime by next week. :eek:

Like i said, you CAN pay and you dont have to wait, get a dedicated server, but there are free public servers because I connected, but the waiting line was estimated at an hour so i said screw it

I understand how it works I just think it is not good business to make customers pay to download an update in under 5-7 hours.

We have only 2 choices...wait forever for L2 (who we pay to play already) or pay someother shmo who tracks you.

Restart...and i agree fileplanet is annoying me too. How devs dump it on t here...then expect users to pay for download it at high speed.

Why not just make the c4 download seperate...as in only c3-c4 upgrade files?

i think i should have bought the cd and just installed c4 :eek:...this is taking some time with several crashes...lol oh well i think it will eventually be worth it

I am new to lineage 2 server but i downloaded with speed of 200-250kb/s from main site GF ^^ :p

/thumbs down on FilePlanet but maybe the people that made that decision found them to be the most userfriendly and fastest in which case that person didn't have much time to research.

Went to FilePlanet and if you dont pay you are frequently reminded that you are sub standard by not paying - that's after you create an account that costantly tries to get you to pay as you create a 'free' account so that you can do a one time download. There are so many places to d/l that don't have constant reminders that you are getting something for free. I wonder if NCSoft paid FilePlanet to host the download?

But anyways, I to refuse to pay to down load and I do expect a better experience updating from C4 PTS to C4 Live than I had when I downloaded C4 PTS. I even went as far as updating my C4 PTS three days ago.

Went home for lunch to restart my update - I hope that it is completed or close to it in six hours when I get home to play.

And thank goodness my connection disconnected this morning - it seems that it was updating my C4 PTS to C3 Live.

Looks like FilePlanet is the ONLY friggin way to download the update. ><

Everying from official suite simply do NOT work and drops connection after a while. **** this is ******* me off.

I would not buy another game from them until they handle updates cleaner. I understand what they face, and the huge project it is. But that's why they call it work boys. Make the download of updates smoother and quicker or you will lose customers.
