Anyone else notice that Orc mages and to a lesser extent warriors are leaning back WAAYYY too much now? It's not a huge problem, just looks unnatural >_< .
Female destros look like they're chilling and waiting for someone to come pick them up lol :P It's such a ****** pose, I like it. Fits perfectly with my cat ears ^^
My male WC now stands like he has developed a serious hip injury. It looks ridiculous! What the hell is ncsoft thinking? Orcs should look tough. Not like prancing school boys. We don't lack muscle so we shouldn't have to overcompensate to look cool. Leave the weird poses to the elves.
Female LE's look like they are breaking their backs to stand. I checked my pictures from C1 and C2 and they stood at a bit of an angle but not nearly as severe as it is now.
I also would ask that they return us to our old stances. My orc destroyer lady ought to look like a badass warrior, not like a pole dancer. She looked so COOL before, now she's about to break her back and fall on her bum from poor balance.
Believe it or not, we actually cancelled our accounts last night over this. *sigh* My husband and I started playing L2 two months ago, for the first time since beta, because we loved the character models, especially the orcs. But this new ****-i-tude for my tough lass is so wrong that it's killed my enthusiasm.
Pleeease let it all be a big mistake. I was so looking forward to C4 and now I'm just...eww, no, i can't even log in. She embarasses me.
I don't think they meant to change it. If you get the chance stand a female orc mystic next to a male orc mystic and you can see that they stand with exactly the same pose. Personnaly I hate it but I can live with the battle stance that it gives.
This is just ridiculous. I'm an orc, not a ****** dark elf. This must be a terrible mistake!
If you look from the side at a WC/OL holding a one handed weapon you can see that the pose is totally unnatural. The character is pushing out his hip so much that i looks like he has developed a pot belly. Try standing like that yourself. You'll feel totally ridiculous. And that's not all, try wielding new Chrono Darbuka. Incredibly he pushes his hips even further!
Oh dear :eek: When people are cancelling their accounts over this, it must bebad. I haven't seen any orcs yet, in C4 actually. I'll keep an eye out for both mystics and fighters. Thisi have to see.
My WC friend said to me in game "look how funny my stance is" and I looked and I didn't see anything funny, looked exactly the same as before... did I not download the pose textures or something? lol

Anyway, the more i've been playing on my two orc characters the more and more these new stances are starting grate on me. My Orc shaman in combat stance looks like he's trying to attract fellow Orc males by thrusting his chest out giving the illusion of breasts. It'd be nice if we could get an official response on if this change was intentional or not.
most people who don't play orc can't tell the difference. But the people who played them and stare at orcs all the time can tell its a hugggee diff.. Return it plz
Indeed, its acctually slowly killing my will to play, I made an orc specificly to AVOID the gender confused manerisms of some of the other races. That and they look badass, or did anyway :(.
Oh and on the topic of anime avatars, Elfen Lied was one of the best animes ever in my opinion.
I know .. it's HORRIBLE! I thought I would be able to handle it, after creating a male bishop on the PTS. But I keep looking at my char on live and I can't handle it. PLEASE change it back or give us sex change pots so I can go to the female bishop. They don't look so bad now compared to my pot belly pouty bishop :confused:
lol yeah tbe battle stance is so-so kinda makes yu like like a crazy bastard, but the regular stance... come on. whats with this thrusting out your hips thing. its ridiculous, takes away the hardcore feel.
I looked closely at new DE stance both male and female, as well as their walk and run unarmed... then it struck me. They look like if they were holding fist weapons in all those cases! No idea about other races with fist weapons but maybe that's the case as well? (still no clue why they changed it)
woot, keep the posts coming, maybe we will be able to get a response on whether some of these are bugs that never got fixed or are in fact intentional.

I'm still in the process of patching myself back into the game in case i had the wrong orc models...But i never noticed any difference with the male orc melees.
The male orc melee changes are MUCH more subtle than the mage ones. They do the hip thrust a bit, but nowhere near as badly as the mages.
Have you not seen the video "ashingun ani download effect" there is a part where a orc mage is making eyes at a human male. And it's known that the mage is the male light elf of the race... :)

Orcs are the most taller of all races, they need to compensate his weight, looks totally natural to me. The new animations are more harder, more male than never. With that size you need to make balance weight :P
And i like the "master of universe" feeling than they have now. He can destroy you with a ***-smash! And they are mages, and orcs still have the worst animation for sit in the game.
Ok, If you think they look like they are trying to balance some perceived top heaviness then i need to show you some pics. I'll make some screenshots later today when i got off work and you can see what i mean.
As for standing like that being natural, yes its natural, for women with massive breasts that NEED to lean back more than other people. Last I checked males don't have massive breasts (not fit ones anyway /shudder )

"Compensate his weight"? I'm sorry but you don't know much about anatomy, muscular mass, or lifting heavy objects do you? You compensate for heavy muscular mass by keeping your back straight and your body as balanced as possible (Since you seem to like cartoons think of the Hulk). You don't overdo it by arching your back like a cat in heat, or pushing your hips forward like you want to show off your belly.
Always standing like my orc do I'm afraid you would end up with a serious back/hip problem.
And as for balancing weight, the picture of me holding the new Chrono Darbuka is impossible. The center of mass is way out of balance. I'm thrusting my hips forward so much that unless the Chrono is weightless, the center of mass would make me lose my balance and fall over.

Yea, I don't know if i can get used to it. And as for korean tastes, its true, asians in general are big fans of the effeminate pretty boy look. If you watch a decent amount of anime you'l notice characters in many of them that are soo effeminate that you acctually can't tell if they are guys or girls.
In one anime, the characters went so far as to get the popular effeminate pretty boy to wear a dress for a fundraiser, I think it was fruits basket.
Anyway I didn't make an orc so i could have an effeminate character who thrusts out his hips both when idle AND in combat.
It's amazing how powerful posture is in conveying attitude and character, isn't it? Kinda makes me want to remember to start sitting up better.
Personally, I blame the dark elves. They were bitter that we laughed at them for their silly run, so they hacked the code to make the rest of us look dorky too. :D
Oh well, if this does end up being an intentional change RFOnline is coming up real soon, another korean pvp mmo whose male characters don't act like women.
RFOnline looks like DAoC goes sci-fi in cartoon.
I'm curious how it plays. It seemed they only invited pre-orderers to beta.

I wonder if they made the changes to the orcs because before they were a little too stiff and static in their at-ease pose. I like the fighting stance they have now.
Well to be honest I haven't seen the combat stances for the orc mystic with all the weapons. The one I have seen is using an Atuba Hammer since my shaman is in D-grade still. Like I said earlier, i'll take some screenshots later, but holy crap it looks like he's TRYING to break his back.
On-topic bit out of the way, I acctually just got invited to the beta today, and I've played on a friends account a bit and I played in the chinese beta before that. The graphics are very nice, the character models, weapons, armour etc all are top notch. I've only gotten to level 15 so far so I haven't tested pvp, but it looks like it could be good. Will have to wait and see.

When I first saw human mystic male stance on PTS I thought "looks like they assigned female animation to male character" ... it really looks like so. Maybe it's intentional, in order to lower memory consumption and megabytes needed for every animations they reduced them and left only female animations :p

How about the poses of female elves? Especially with a staff. I often just stare and wonder a) wow that must give them a back ache b) she's about to fall any minute now c) wow the next slight breeze is gonna blow her over d) if I tap her on the shoulder she could fall over.
No seriously i've been hunting with imcheese since he was lvl 20 his standing and battle ready stances have changed. And his standing one matches the female elf almost exactly.
Thats the thing what i original did was to copy the C4 PTS over top my C3 install which gave me very little patching, but when people said there was this weird issue.
I remove all of the files within my lineage folder except for my patch32.dll and LineageII.exe file and did what i call a network download. Which is downloading every single file to rebuild my install.

I think you have things completely backwards. id like to see you stand with your hips thrusted outwards and back arched behind you. there would be nothing natural or relaxed about it.
This might be a bug afterall. I'm not sure yet, but it does appear that basic skeletons of characters have been screwed up a bit. I'm no expert in 3D or game modeling, but what if it was just the stance intructions that got confused, or something. (trying to help @.@)
There's gotta be something wrong. Human female mystics in robes such as avadon, you can see the front and back flaps poofed out about 5 inches away from their body, it looks all kinds of messed up.
And yeah my picture doesn't show just how bad the human male mystics are. It's bad, I really, really don't like it. If I had BW on the PTS it would have been easier to compare.
Are Male DE the only ones that didn't get screwed with? Yeah an about the female mystics what happend? I mean did they want them to be flashing everyone their undies? Also it looks like they are getting ready to choke a bish.
Does anyone PREFER the new stances? I'm just curious. I ran into another male human nuker the other day and asked what he thought about the new stance. He had a staff weapon and wants to make a sword just because they hold the staffs so ridiculous now.
They look like ... they play hockey with staves or so. And seem to me like they are going to fall backwards every second.
(They nneded to ballance fact that DEs are leaning way too forward while running? :p )
The changed appearances of player characters in Chronicle 4 is by design, and is not considered a bug at this time. We have passed along the feedback in this thread, and we welcome constructive comments about this change and other changes in Chronicle 4. Thanks!
