Change Buy Shops

I have been trying to craft a few items for my character, and have noticed 1 major flaw in the buy shops. They are designed for dwarves only, well kind of.

Why do you have to own something in order to be able to purchase another one??? Shouldn't the purpose of the buy shop be that you are interested in purchasing something, and are willing to pay a set price for it, if anyone wants to sell?

I think you should be able to pick form a list of all the items available in L2, and then set the price you would pay for such an item. This would be good for people needing Spellbooks, recipes, a new weapon/armour, anything. Usually if you already have something you don't need another unless you are equiping a small army, or are buying for the purposes of crushing. Please give us the chance to try to buy anything we want :)

I see your problem, but how exactly is it different for dwarves ?
Did I miss another hidden feature of my race, where we can pull up a list of items to create a buy-shop from ?
Dang. I already missed the "dwarves are overpowered" and "dwarves get items from thin air" and the real cool "dwarves are rich, just by existance" switches.
Is there a hidden keystroke to reveal these goodies ?

Sarcastic Kitten
WHy does it benefits dwarfs? exept for buing stuff for crashing? The dwarfs now have to keep 2 copies of b-s recipes, 1 in book, 1 in order to put uo a bu shop to buy more to craft something.

To rest of the idea /sighned
I remember thinking this, the first time I wanted to set up buy shop. We should be able to pick from a list.

The advantage dwarves have with buy shop, is that they often have loads of different parts, for routine crafts. But yeah, dwarves don't start out with one of every item, so this would obviously benefit them too.
Don't bestupid dwarves are not at the advantage here just cause they keep more mats then most players doesn't mean otehr players can't too!
While we're on the topic of buy shops...

The dropdown list of available purchase options would be nice.

For the person selling to the buy shop it would be nice to display how many of an item someone needs. I hate trying to unload all of my materials on someone only to find out that they only need 4 and then I have to go back and step through various quantities to find out how many it will allow.
Fact is that probably more WS keep spare mats for buy shop than non-WSs. And BHs probably also have a lot of stuff, since they spoil. I have a lot of stuff too, but I'm not a pro-crafter, so I don't have as much reason to.

And don't call me stupid, [self-cencored]. OF COURSE other players can keep spare parts (big duh). But I really think the percentage of playerswho DO are WSs. Jesus Christ. No, it's not an "automatic advantage", but I think you know what I mean.
YES, alt+f4 :D
I just re-read my first post, and am now doubting that you were actually talking to me... But in any case, don't go around calling people names. Makes you look like an ***.
i do agree that dwarved have no advantage in any way, and if you gonna need something, specially in mass, it aint hard to get a single copy to get another. specially if you got a clan for backup
I remember thinking this when I started too.. whaddya mean I gotta have one to buy one!!

What I'd like to see is sell/buy stores with premade titles.. that way i don't have to /findprivatestore sop.. then /findprivatestore puri then /findprivatestore stone then !WTB sop!
For all the upset dwarves out there (sheesh I have 2 myself) what I meant was, talking from my experiences only. I make a buy shop for certian types of equipment I have on me to set a price where I will buy to crush. If I get lucky and someone sells me something (so I have 2 of the same item) yipeee crystal supply.

Other races have no use for 5 Brig Tunics, or whatever. Which is where I am saying it is biased towards dwarves. As for Mats supply, all races are in same boat there, as it currently stands.

My suggestion would help dwarves as well. Instead of searching endlessly for that impossible to find recipe, why not set up a buy shop for it, if someone comes along while your afk, and like what your offering, ting you get back to your computer and its there.

This can only help everyone!!!
While they work on it you can resort to spamming in big cities.
I never understood this either. I remember when I first tried to make a sell shop I wanted to buy weapon that I couldn't find anywhere. To my suprise I had to have the weapon to by it. Finally dawned on me why so many people were spamming !WTB ?.

I think this is a great idea. Only problem I see with having everything in game available for a buy shop is it would take forever to find it in the available items window.

Unless when you hit the buy shop button a selection window came up where you picked weapon, armor, or 1 of the groups then a window would pop up for what grade u wanted then only showed those items then it wouldnt be so bad.
Well I was thinking along the lines of things being broken down in lists like they are now when you go to the library to find stats on a certian piece of equipment.

First break into groups of Armour, Weapons, Acc. and Misc.
Then a break down like Bows/Swords/Blunts etc. giving you a list of about 20-30 to pick from. Maybe throw a grade option in htere, and really limit the results.

It does tell you how many they are planning on buying. If you click on the item in their buy shop it will say "Quantity Purchased" and have a number by it. It has said that since Prelude...

On a side note, I agree. We do need a drop down menu of all available items to purchase in buy shops. Organized lists of Armor, Weapon, Consumable, General Craft, and other such lists with each item available for that category to use in our shop. It wouldn't actually GIVE us one of the item, just allow us to use that item as a template to set up shop.
