im currently lvling a cougar but i would like to know am i able to do a quest to turn it into an adult or am i wasteing my time and does it get any new skills or get stronger as i lvl it can u please answer this question. :(
but i know that you can get tamed pets which are the adult forms of the cougar buffalo and kukubura. i just wandered if i could lvl mine and change it to an adult with out haveing to tame a new pet
No, you can't. If you get the baby pet, it's always a baby. You can level it and the heal will be a bit better, but it's never good enough to replace a healer.
that sucks whats the point of havein a pet that heals 26hp when im a fighter in one hit i take as much damage as it heals i found that it heals 76 hp with blessed beast spirit shots but that is still not enough for a tank unless it gets boosted up to 10+ without bsps when ist a higher lvl there will be no point in havein it
The Kitten has it exactly right. I found when using the pet that they considerably reduced downtime for tank type classes. They won't eliminate it, and they won't save you in an emergency, but they can really help.
You have to be VERY good about agro though, cause one hit will kill them.
the fact that i cant buy blessed beast spirit shots kind of bums me out and the fact that it died like 5 times before i got the hang of things. i still havent got in to a good gro with another pet owner and dont have a clue what buffs to try and get him when i hunt :p
I took my cougar with me hunting Doom Knights last night. I like that it receives a % of my XP. However I don't like that it's pretty much dead if you sneeze on it. Armor for the little bugger would be nice. Or maybe special pet scrolls like the L2Day scrolls would be nice. With such low pdef, it probably wouldn't be worth the expense, but just a thought.
tell me about it i have to buy food, blessed rez scrolls!!! i am lucky nobody has tryed pk him yet. one other thing GREATER MAGIC HASTE pots the rule they speed his heals up :D

Windwalk is good... any buffs won't hurt but they honestly don't help. Even with max level buffs my pets on the PTS were killed in one hit. :)

why cant you buy beast sps? all of the pet managers sell the beast shots. As far as cost goes, they are by far the cheapest to lvl, if you figure they cost you 500k to get, and all you ever have to buy them is food and one food fill's them up completly, wolves food only replenishes about 8 on its food bar so its a much better deal then the raising costs of wolves or hatchlings.
Generally unless your one of the people who dosnt learn from mistakes once you get the hang of the new pets and figure out what mobs you can and cant hunt they will end up living much longer.
ive found that haveing my pet far away from the mobs as possible helped alot so no agro mobs can get close. he can even heal still he just runs close enough then backs off again ww or haste pots also greatly help out ive even found a great way to hunt out in open grounds with safety :D :) :D
come to think of it Zodac hasnt died since last night
p.s im a lvl 34 knight i also need ss and all types of pots and.. and im not in a clan so all the money i make is still not good enough for me and Zodac
I'm going to write up some of this for the guide forum but basically what I found was if you have a single mob you are usually safe. However if you agro two, the second one almost invariably kills the pet unless you gain agro right away.
the easiest way ive found to raise them quickly with least amount of deaths is to find a small (4 mob room) in cats that you can solo, park em in the hall where they dont have to move at all (even to heal you) and just go at it for a while in there.
Good point. I think if you can find a spot with mobs that are non social and non aggro and non AOE, you can probably level them ok. So far the only place that I can think of is Bandits Stronghold. Just park your pet on a hill and go kill some Oel Mahum Shamans and Gargoyle-types.
But to be safe, keep a Rez scroll in your inventory anyway.
if found the catas and necros are the best to lvl baby pets as u can go find a small room and keep it in the middle of a corridor while u go and lvl. once uve cleared the room of mobs check your pet and make sure hes still topped up with pots or buffsi found about 100 baby spice will last for a very long hunt. you should always make sure mobs are always agroed to u or when your pet heals it will get attacked i find being a tank with hate helps greatly as i can nearly always keep mobs on me another thing to watch out for is people who are trainin. (shouldnt be as common now)do this and he/she should lvl very well its still good to have about 5 blessed rez scrolls.
ive realised that help fighters mostly as they have to get in to the thick of things while mystics try to kill things before they get a chance to get close.
I am sure there will be a quet later (proabably c5) on to change your baby pet to a full grown pet. A healing pet that buffs as well as heals.
better be right after the quest for my wolfs class change
