Hey, I'm new to L2 (testing it out) and this is obviously my first chronicle update. Now, I ran L2 earlier, not realizing C4 was out yet and it started updating. It wasn't going to terribly fast and I noticed that they had it for download on fileplanet. So I decided to give fileplanet a try to see if they were faster but the download is over 2GB. I'm assuming it's just downloading the whole game again just with C4 since the C3 version of the game was about 1.9GB. Is all I need to download and install is the update that it's downloading from the L2 launcher?
What your downloading from fileplanet is exactly what the L2 loader is trying to download and update. Though C3 may only be 1.9gb, no most of what your downloading of the C4 patch is not just the game, they changed many of the animations and added several new mobs and opened up a whole new section of the map and thus unfortunatly its a HUGE patch :p...I suppose in a way you are mostly just downloading the game again but because they've changed so much i personally dont think it counts. If I were you I'd just let the L2 loader download and update the patch because its going to take about the same amount of time, and it is a little bit easier...so pull up a chair, get comfortable, have a few snacks at hand....you got a long wait in store of you :p...but trust me it's worth it!
