new baby pets

looking through this stuff, i see mention of pets healing or helping with mana, but which one does what? or do they all heal and help recharge? .. and if so .. how do i as the owner access those attributes? i'm getting lots of questions about this.

Baby pets all heal, no recharge.
They start with little wimpy heals until you get hurt bad in which case they hit you with less-wimpy heals.

Oh, and they be cute as the button :D

Quick question on the pet thing.

Now i wanna start leveling my hatchling but was curious on the SS. Do you need to use the SS that are sold by Pet Managers or will any NG SS work too?

You need to use pet ss. Which is expensive, especially for someone who is raising a pet and not using it for servitors, I'll admit. :cool:

New pets are Couger, Buffalo and a 2 Headed Dodo, right?

Are their functions all the same, ie they run around healing you and not even needing to hit the mob right?

Do they all run the same?

They are all exactly the same. The only difference is level. The bird starts as level 24, the buffalo 25 and the cougar 26.

hmmm...anyone know if they heal you if you are purple? or even red?

i have a few questions too about these new pets when they die i can not click on their names to rez them is this only my problem or r others having this problem now i am so nervous about them getting hit and dieing i do not want to take them out at all to lvl them but they r so **** cute it is hard to decide pleasse help

I saw two dwarfs outside dion last night each with 3 of these babies following them
needless to say they were taking all monsters in the area.

The heals go up, but they are always small heals compared to the number of HP you have at a higher level. So they won't ever replace your healer, only suppliment one or help with down time.

You can't have more than 1 Pet out at a time. If you were sure that each dwarf had 3 of these baby pets, then they were exploiting some kind of bug. If a player could have more than 1 baby pet out at a time, then people would just buy 9 of them and summon all of them so they wouldn't be forced to have health-downtime.

And Master I'm pretty sure you can shift-click your pet so that it targets it when it is dead. Worked for me on the PTS when my buffalo died at the IT.

And Sin I'm not sure they would help with PvP much ^.^-- their heals aren't that strong, and they die so easily I'd be afraid of letting my poor little yak-mate onto the siege grounds! :D

You need to target them and shift click their name when they die. I had mine die several times before I got the hang of how to avoid agro. Just make sure to have rez scrolls on you. And one really annoying thing... if something hits you when you are rezzing them or you get another popup box, you will lose the confirmation on their rez AND lose the scroll if you are using one.

Their little dead bodies will teleport with you if you are using an SoE. I never tried the Prophet/Elder Return or Party Return, but I imagine they will with that as well.

The other's are called "Help my son" for the bird and "Help my sister" for the cat.

:) but don't their heals get higher as they lvl? and seeing as how they dn't have to attack to get xp...they can be leveld really quick and thus having higher lvl heals faster
and even if it takes 1 shot to take them down in pvp...thats one less shot someone gets on you :)

The heals get higher, but the highest heals were somewhere around 120. I seriously doubt they will be useful in PvP.

I don't remember the exact amount but it's a good chunk. I thought it was around the same as other pets. I can test it later tonight and let you know for sure.

You need to hold the Shift key when you click on it.

My cougar died 2 times and it's with Shift-Click that I was able to raise him.

You have to SHIFT+click. Did you do that?

My stupid buffalo died 3 times last night (very quickly, I might add). It's down to 58%.

Edit: oh, and I don't remember shift+clicking to rez. I think I just clicked on its little window (you know, the same one you see with party members) and rezzed.

i only thought that was if u could at least highlight it in the first place thanks to everyone for their help it is most appreciated :)

Other people can rez the baby pets (and anyone other pet or PC for that matter), too, without even being in group.

I saw a dead pet in Dion and 20% rezzed it. The owner has the option to accept or decline the pet's rez (such as if they're getting a blessed rez instead.

I didn't actually see its owner, but got a whisper of thanks back on it.

Another technique that I think still works with pets is to log out and log back in RIGHT AWAY. When you log out, the pet gets an automatic 0% rez and all of its equipment go into your inventory.

But if you don't log back in within the 20 minutes they go in, delete the pet, and delete everything that previously had been in its inventory. So don't do this on the day your ISP is acting up.
