Idea for legitimate players

How about a reward system for petitioning illegal behavoir that results in a ban of players who infringe on the eula. EXAMPE:

Player A is hunting, and sees bots. Player then petitions. NCsoft investigates, finds out that they are bots and rewards player a with adena/item that shows up in players warehouse.

To prevent people from wrongfully trying to get revenge on another player.

Player B is killed by Player A. Player B petitions stating player A is infringing on the EULA. NCsoft investigates and finds nothing wrong. Player B gets nothing.

This would enable players to actively help NCsoft weed out people who infring on the eula more often and in turn make this game fair for those who play.
Yeah, problem-- NCSoft usually doesn't tell you whether or not (after they have investigated) the person you have petitioned about is in fact using 3rd party programs.

If they have and are discovered using them, then those bots are banned and that is the end of it. Of course, other times bots just aren't discovered as using 3rd party programs. You'll petition about someone, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the people who you petitioned about are actually going to get the punishment/reward that they deserve.

I'm fine not getting a reward for petitioning against a bot, I'd just like to see some bots actually get banned before we start giving out rewards...(for tattling :D)
well the thing is that I know alot of people who don't report bots, they just kill them. The problem with that is its not getting rid of the bots. This would allow us players to help NCsoft detect bots and get rid of them.
Providing a motivation for killing bots won't help as much as you'll expect it to. Because people are, more than often, going to report who they suspect is a bot, and then not get a reward (because the suspected bot receives no punishment) and then get ******. :p
You know why they just kill them now instead of petitioning them. Because nothing happens. In the year and 2 months I have played this game I have learned to spot the "cheaters" right away. I have petitioned "cheaters" many many many times. Only to come back later or the next day or a week later to see the same "cheaters" there in the same place doing the same thing.

So I just kill them now.

Been suggested before and it will never happen; and rightly so. They do not let you know the outcome of petitioning possible violators.

You're doing something wrong then because I have. I've seen entire groups disappear a few days after petitioning.
I definatley must be doing something wrong in my petition then.

Or there must be a new way to 9 box now.

I put char name location and what I saw in petition as plainly as I can with the limit on char petitions have.

Any helpfull suggestions would be appreciated

but hey i know a friend that is banned for bad words (#@|@""é&é) .
as for support this game SUX Big time thats for sure and BOTS .... are rulers of aden :/

Train/Grief/KS/Seed b()ts.. dont petiton - it helps not.. Free gear and stuff; some b0ts get banned and reinstalled back.

Lets see I believe this might be true, I reported over 6 bots on Talking Island before, and nothing was done for at least 1 week, or more... Maybe the bots knew I had reported them, and they made a new character, or maybe they were banned.

The reason we are not told the bots names is very simple, because what if that bot is Banned, and then another player takes that name, Example. Dark Angel, Lucifer, are one of the most common names used that I can think of, and if some new player takes that name, then people will think they are the same person who was cheating before...

However most people just kill bots, because they drop items, so people like to pk bots, so that they can get the good items they may drop, or if they are wearing B grade armor, they will pk them, untill they drop some of it, thats why they do it, and rather not report it to a GM, because the GM's will ban the person, if thats what they do, and all the items would be lost, so people would rather pk the bots, and take their items...

#1 NC soft owns this game, and they control everything...
#2 We actually take a part in owning this game too, because we all pay, and If we did not play this game, there would be no LineAge 2, What I mean by this statement, is we are the ones who set the Prices, not the GM's, we Set the prices on the stuff we sell, and we also decide should we report this bot? The answer is, you shouldn't have to get a reward to report a bot, because if you let them play, you are helping cheaters, that can afford all the best in game gear, and have an Unfair advantage over a lot of things, possibly help raise prices on items sold, and screw up the ecnomics a bit...

#3 Why get a reward for reporting bots? Bots are our problem, we are the ones who play this game, NC soft doesn't play this game for fun...

#4 NC soft owns this game, but...

#1 We set our own prices on the economy, GM's dont do it for us...

#2 Bot Reporting is not just NC's resposibillity...

#3 Reporting cheaters helps improve the game, and this is our job too...

#4 If you do not have the time to report a cheater please do not complain about cheaters/botters, because when I do a gm call, I just move the box out of my way, and continue to play, no big deal, Now if you got to go to work, or something, that is a different story....

Why should we be rewarded for catching bots? This is our game too, even tho NC soft owns it, I report bots for free, If anyone doesnt want to report bots, you do not have to, but It is just runing our part of the game, that we are borrowing from nc soft...

Yeah Rewards would be nice, But NC soft arent the ones who made the bots, Bots are players just like us who decide to cheat, Not NC soft, so It isn't NC softs fault that players decided to **** up their game, they own this game, but cannot stop all the cheaters, It is just as much our responsibillity to report them, as it is their's to ban them...

Even if you are behind a firewall, and antivirus not 100% of the virusus, and hackers will be stopped from screwing up your pc, the same thing with bots...

If a bot is banned, Bots most likely use routers, and IP spoof, so they will not stay banned forever, they will just make a new account, buy a new Cd, and come back, and will bot again another day...
Unless they are flat out lying to us (and if they wanted to lie, why would they have waited so long and have ****** off so many people with their silence), things do happen.
Who knows, NC soft could be behind it all, one day we will know for sure...

If they are lier's they would be doing it for they money, I posted a rumor here before, but I will not be alowed to post it again, because my post was removed, But the rumor said, that NC soft was behind all of it, helping bots, ect for more money, there is no way to prove this...
Actually, we won't.
Ok where to start

Don't care if they told the names or not I know who I reported. They are still there doing the same thing day in day out. I have gone through 6 lvl's in this area and these toons are still there doing the same thing. As a matter of fact since about a month before C4 went live there are 8 groups in this area instaed of 2. Hm im sure it has something to do with Sov being more popular now that it has acumen.

Most people dont pk bots. Alot of people train them or get them killed somehow. Most people wont waist a pk point on a bot.

If you think WE as in the no-professionals in this game sets the prices. You are greatley mistaken. There are people out there that get payed to play this game and they are the ones who regulate the economy and ensure that all prices are inflated so they can make more RL money from selling in game stuff. If the economy was based of NPC store prices I could get a draconic bow for about 60 mil. But since it is inflated for RL cash flow it will cost you 200mil or more.

Ok you got me I agree with this statement.

Very true but we should still report them. Buth this statement contradictes what you said before. Its like a reason not to report them.

WOW, This is what I have been trying to tell everyone, and everyone said, that Dwarf Bots were not the reason for inflation, Because Dwarf's are the ones with spol, they are also the ones who farm with other Bots like Healers, ect, so that they can spoil stuff, so that they can create high level items, and make 100mil + adena easy, and get more IRL money...

Dwarf Spoiler bots raise prices on all the crafting minerals, Legal Warsmiths buy the materials from Private stores, and they are bots, or bot mules, then The crafters spend a lot of money on the materals, because the prices have been raised, so the Crafters Charge more for the final product, am I wrong? Who would not charge more for an item when the price of the materials cost goes up? It is not the legal players fault, Its the bots, I know that Dwarf Bots are not the only ones who bot, that some healers, and others Bot too, but they do not have spoil...

Guess it is actually the reason after all...
Actually farmers LOWER the prices. If you had a even a rough concept of supply and demand you might realize that their excessive farming is what allows mats to be as cheap as they are. Last time NC did one of their mega bot bans prices shot up beyond belief because our economy depended on farmers to make prices low. If you eliminate dwarves, as you often suggest they would bot with other classes and the net result would just be an increase in mats prices.

Second your idea that dwarves are the flaw in the economy literally sickens me. I mean could you even just try to get past your idiot assumptions and reason through some of these issues? That's all i ask, that you take a look at these things and actually think about them, no more of your idiot rants, just actually think about how a real economy works and what would happen if you eliminated most of the supply end of it. The chronicle just came out. Give it a month or so and the crazy prices on new stuff will settle down.

Third, the game is Lineage not Line Age. the spell is Aura Flare not Aqua flare. Also you seem to have trouble distinguishing between spoilers and crafters. Do you understand that they are different classes? Because so far you've shown a lack of understanding of most classes in the game.

True the prices should go down... I do know the difference between a Dwarf Farmer, And a Dwarf Crafter. I did not sugguest that the Race dwarf be deleted from the game, But something needs to be done about Dwarf Bots... Dwarf Farmers may be the reason that material prices are lower, But did NC soft make this game for Bots to play character while people are afk? I do not think they did... What is crazy is allowing Bots to play this game, Something needs to be done about all Bots, Including Dwarf Farmers/Healers, and Tanks, ect... Even if the prices go up a bit on materials they still need to be taken care of, because they were not meant to be put in this game, If it is true that this game is not a Solo game, then it was meant for us to all work together on getting what we need, as a clan, ect, not from Bots, All Bot users need to be banned...

First
The gaming professionals dont play for fun its for profit. So it realy doesnt matter what toons they have most of them have the same basic toon. They will use any means to keep thier toons on 24/7 to aquire as many mats/items as possible.

Ok so now we know professionals have the bulk of materials in game. So they set the prices for selling these items.

Now us legit players bust our humps to aquire the adena or collect same items.

Example: Wanted to craft sov farmed blades at dev castle for 2 months and got 5 blades. So I ended up selling alot of overpriced stuff to purchase the sov for 20mil the price 1 month before C4. Same wep sells for 30mil now since it gets acumen now.

Now since they have inflated the prices everyone else is selling and bying for the same inflatd prices just to break even and in most cases loose adena.

Of course there are the other players who dont have the patients to grind and farm and save for what they need. So they bye it with real life money. Which drives the professionals to do what they do even more.

Unfortunatley this started in the begining so now everyone has payed way to much for everything they have. So when its time to move up they want the same or more for the already over priced stuff.

Its a visious cycle that will never end. The economy is driven by the influx of new player/chronicles.

New items = higher prices on raw materials to craft those items.

The harder it is to aquire and item = time spent to get it = more cost to professional gamer = more cost to you and me.

It wouldnt be so bad and there would be such a real life market for in game items if so many NA market players didnt have the mentality of having to have the best of everything all the time. Way to many players are willing to cheat (by adena) to stay at the top of the game.
When I read the first pos of Time Cop in this thread, I was rather surprised to not see any dwarf ranting in it. Actually I was confused, when I saw "edited by Time Cop" in the last line of the note as it did not read like a Time Cop post.

But the second post then made the universe right again. Of course, once again only Dwarves are cheaters and all dwarves are cheaters, yes, Mr. Time Cop. And all Elves can fly and are nice.

All Bot users need to be banned...

I actually agree with you in this statement. I seriously wonder, why you even mention Dwarves as the botting is not limited to dwarves, as was told to you multiple times already in the past. Bot trains of 3+ people got 1 dwarf and all the rest are non-dwarves.
(D)Elves and Orcs and Humans can bot just as easily as the dwarves.
Actually from my experience it is many times the case, that the dwarf farmer char is played actively, while the support train is botted. At least whenever I got a response of a bot train at all, when pestering them, it was the dwarf char speaking to me. The Healer buffer and DD were just standing there and look pretty.

Schmuse Katze
You obviously don't know the difference between bot dwarves and non-bot dwarves if you make the distinction at "crafters".

There aren't "plenty" of non-botted spoilers because people are selfish and won't accept them into party (and because spoil tables were weaksauce in C3 - how are they in C4 Schmuse?), but they still exist.

I'd wager there are more non-botted Bounty Hunters than Temple Knights or other rare classes on any given server.

(and because spoil tables were weaksauce in C3 - how are they in C4 Schmuse?)

Due to a bug in a Tier1 backbone, I was unable to connect to the game since Friday, so my testing on the spoil tables is a bit flawed.

So far it seems, that the spoil tables on the mobs that existed already, where only changed a bit. If anything, it seems, as if the spoil chances were reduced a bit more, which would further enhance manor and make spoilers more useless.

However, I got positive proof, that A grade recipes and key materials do spoil in the new areas, so the real high level Bounty Hunters got some enhancement on that part.

On a side note, it does seem to me, that there was a change to quest item mechanism.

Till C4, if a mob was viable for 2 different quests, you could get quest items for both quests from killing 1 mob. In C4 now, I am doing the fishing shot and the special bait quest simultaneously. The mobs for the special bait quest are also mobs for the FS quest and many times I got a FS-qitem from the mob, but no special bait. Many times it was vice versa. And not once did I get both questitems from one mob.

So as a net total, I'd wager, that the situation for Bounty Hunters did not turn for the better, as none of the A-grade-spoiling Mobs can be killed without a full party (running on spoil share).

Non_Sharing Kitten
Only reason I mentioned dwarfs in my posts way back, was because when I first started, I did these posts when my character was around 20, and I was leveling from 15-20 on talking island at spiders, and I saw only dwarfs there botting, and using healing potions, thats why I was so ****** off about dwarfs in the past, because I thought they were really the only ones really botting the game...

Anyways, Inflation works like this most of the time...

What I mean about Dwarf crafters, Is Crafters only exist to make things, basically they are not good farmers like spoilers, so a lot of crafters buy their items, and recipies to save time right?

The Bots are mostly Scavengers, these scavengers farm items like rare recipies, crafting materials, weapon designs, armor patterns ect, such as staff heads, Blade edges, ect... These bots that farm then after they finish botting, or with a second account go to town, such as giran, or dion, and they sell their items there, and they make the prices higher, and higher, known as inflation....

Then the crafters, that are not bots, and legal players buy these ingredients from these bots, which they do not know they are bots, because they are just on the ground selling the items, so after they buy the items, they begin crafter, Then the crafters charge the price of how much it costed to create it, + a fee for making the weapon, + if they have enchated it....

This means, that the Bot Scavengers actaully win anyway, because they are raising the prices, so the legal crafters raise their prices on items that they have crafted too, Am I right, or wrong?

Yes I have found out recently that Bots aren't just Dwarfs, because I have went different places, and seen lots of bots farming items, ect, and they had Healers, and Dwarfs...

#1 Dwarf Spoilers, that use Bot programs Farm the items, and Increase the item prices, as time goes along, and they set up a private store in town to do this, with a mule, or with their character after they have finsihed botting...

#2 The crafters buy the ingredients, and recipies from them, and the crafters have to raise the prices, as the bots do, otherwise they do not make a profit...

#3 The Bots win, because they ruin newbies, and make newbies buy adena, so the Bots profit more, am I wrong about this too?

The Basic Point Is All Bots Need To Be Banned !
Katze, yeah I know. ;_; I had that too. Got back in around Sunday noon.

TimeCop, bots don't use healing potions, most of the time. Once again, the majority of most bot trains consist of one scavenger, one or two healers, one swordsinger, one bladedancer and a few damage dealers. That doesn't mean any of those classes are 'bot' classes, just that they're suitable for running groups with. Grow up.

Your image of the market is completely wrong. Firstly, there is no 'steady inflation' of the kind you draw (varnish on Devianne went down from 1100a to 600a in the past few months) - the people with the most control over prices are all "real" players.

Sure, they may cheat and/or bot, but they're still definitely, 100% real players. I don't know of any farmer clan holding a castle.

Learn something about the market before you run off at the mouth about it. Such as: A farmer bot can't cause inflation, because it brings the same amount of money vs mats into the market as a regular player.

Then the crafters, that are not bots, and legal players buy these ingredients from these bots, which they do not know they are bots, because they are just on the ground selling the items,

What does that matter WHO sells the item, bot or player?

Price is what determines this.

If I see a known botter selling something cheap, and right next to him is a real, clanned, player who's selling the same thing but at a more expencive price, guess who I'm buying my stuff from.......

Also, however annoying as they are, Bots are part of L2's economy now.

Manor is screwed on most servers.
NCSoft will probably never raise Drop/Spoil rates.

When you need to craft your next weapon/armor, would you rather:
A) Go to an obvious botter and buy the mats you need in the Quantities you need

or

B) Go and farm mobs for Months for the same items yourself?

If you choose option B, good luck farming 10k Animal bones, or 3k Steel yourself.
Here are SOME of the items needed to create 1 Draconic Bow (100%)

Recipe:Draconic Bow(100%):
17 Draconic Bow Shafts
Animal Bone: 25,650
Varnish: 9,515
Mold Glue: 80
Mold Lubricant: 160
MOld Hardener: 160
Thread: 14,060
Iron Ore: 13,900

So with out the farmers farming and the botters botting, good luck getting all that, and again, that's just SOME of the items, NOT all, there are others that should be on that list I didn't post.

So either NCSoft Significantly boots Drop/Spoil rates, Bots are needed to get the insane amount of mats needed for the craft of gear.

Not that I'm defending the bots here though, merely pointing out that they are here to stay and even though no one likes bots, we all use their services.
Manor, manor, manor!

If they fixed the buyback it could provide for so much.

Manor, manor, manor!

If they fixed the buyback it could provide for so much.

A few problems with that.

1) Can't speak for your server, on mine, Manor Sucks. Plain and simple.

2) Not everyone uses Manor

3) Not everyone understands Manor

4) Not everyone has the time to Manor

5) 0 Possibility of any drops while manoring

6) Manor is boring

7) When you finaly have all your fruit, Good luck turning it to the manor manager thereby beating all the Bots and other Players wanting to do the same thing.

8) Did I mention Manor sucks and boring?

EDIT:

9) I forgot to add 1 more little detail about the manor and that is, it's a SOLO job. In groups, Good luck trying to find a group who'll let you Seed mobs.
admiral_ju00, could you please stop looing at a 100% recipe since you won't be blessed to have such on the live servers.

And 25k bones are a matter of few days (close to a week) clan job if you have a BH. (That's w/o manor)

When you need to craft your next weapon/armor, would you rather:
A) Go to an obvious botter and buy the mats you need in the Quantities you need

I'd

C) Set up a buy shop, of course.

Buy low, sell high. Most of the time, you have to be REALLY lucky to buy low from a sell shop (probably the only time you can to it is when you're searching for cheap crystalizable stuff) - so you don't.

Right, there is that.

Yes, doing that, lots of times, farmers can sell you lots of mats for lower prices just to get rid of it.

However, I was responding to TimeCops post which you seemed to have missed entirely.

Allow me to repost it, just for you:

I don't know what people get out of that, to me it sounds like:

If you bot, I will NOT buy any of your stuff.

Frankly, I have no idea what TimeCop tries to say. I don't think anyone besides him does, really. I do, however, know how to do business, and "players buy these ingredients from these bots [sitting] on the ground selling the items" is a lot of hogwash and mindless blather to me.

Without wanting to single you out in any way, I just used your post to make my point on that issue.
Ok timecop i will agree with everything you say if you can convincingly tell me how bots who have a huge number of mats raise the price when even a basic understanding of suppy and demand woudl dictate otherwise.

Also I know at least 2 people very well who play dwarf scavies for fun. I would bet there are many others. If you are too dim to seperate bots from scavvies then i think you need serious help and am surprised you can put together a post, albiet poorly thought out and badly written.

I hate to say it but without "professional players" alot of items in game would not be available. Because the drop rate is so poor.

But I also suspect the drop is so low and craft material quantities are so hi because there are "professional player".

IMO NCsoft lowered drop rate and raised recipe item quantities becaue there was to much items/raw material in game making it to easier to obtain high end items.

If all "professional players" were removed from the game (will never happen) then they would have to readjust all the drop rates and recipes to reflect the way the game is suppoes to be played.

In C2 drop rate wasn't the best but was far better than it is now. But with so many "professional players" in game there was way to many items in the market driving down the price. Making it easier to obtain the items you needed.

C3 drop rate goes down prices go up making it harder to obtain the items you need.

C4 IMO drop rate is even worse specialy on high end items B grade and above.

We are not suppose to have the new grade equipment as soon as a chronicle goes live. We are ment to struggle and work for it sometimes for months on end.

To many people in this game want everything right now and dont care how they get it. So the viscious cycle continues.

SO we all have to live with the economy we have and do the best you can with what you have. Or you cheat and incourage the "rofessional players" to continue what they are doing.

You can't win when RL money is involved. It will never change.
why does timecop still even post?
dont you realize nothing you have to wear is made/farmed by dwarfs?

all the way up to top c grade you can wear shop bought armor with a mammoned top c weapon
dwarfs have nothing to do with anything you want
I just crafted a DC Light Top Last night. about 95% of the mats were farmed by myself over the course of a few week of normal play. This including a little manoring, a little questing, and a large amount of just normal hunting.

It's not impossible...it's easier with w/ a BH, and people whine too much.

Thank you.
