First off, the game is gonna run real slow and unstable for the lot of ye, especially if ye try and run it right after ye download. Run a scandisk first - it'll speed things up and might even improve system stability.
Anyways... albeit a little glitchy (few crashes), I'm quite impressed with C4.
The first thing I noticed when logging on is me clothes. It sways, and it's ****. It's not the HEAVY ARMOR TEXTURES (zubei) I'm supposed to be wearing, but now that I've the swaying thing goin on... well... I don't mind so much. :D
Another nice thing is the prophet's battle and relaxed stance with duals. She holds the swords in such a way that they form a big "X". Which is great with overenchants because it makes it that much brighter.
Mobs are scratching themselves now, and are showing much more animation. Very nice. :D
But most of all, despite the lack of new skills, Mana is LOVING her new beast shots. For one, they're light, cheap, and she only uses two per charge. Together, running on pure prophet buffs (I miss Wish's VR... hopefully she logs on soon), we're a mob killing machine. Me green mobs can die almost instantly if both me and Mana crit. And even without VR, we can still hold a room in the catacombs. (joy!)
Now I wish I could show ye this - but the movie recorder isn't recording Mana. (DOH!) So I'll wait a bit before posting some wolf dancing videos, as I'm sure many of ye are curious to see how we hunt. Hehe - as it stands though - it's weird. :D Because we often split up and attack two seperate mobs (oh yeah, love the beast shots), the mob I am hitting, and the mob she is hitting sometimes die at the same time. And since she's "invisible" in the recording - it looks like I'm hitting two mobs at once with me duals. :D
Anyway, had a run in with the adventurer guide guy. Was real neat being able to see all the quests in one gigantic table. :D I'm discovering quests I never knew existed, and I'm tempted to try a few of them.
Also, I'm hearing news that pets no longer have to strike to gain exp? Can someone confirm this? I'd hate the idea that someone could powerlevel a pet this way. Before we know it, we'll see pets of all varieties being raised by bots, while the pets wait patiently outside the room. >.<
All in all - very nice. :D Now I'm going to sleep before I spend too much time on this game since I'm supposed to be sleeping by now. ;)

Greetings to Hawaii
As far as I know, only the baby pets level without hitting things and that is necessary, cause they cannot hit anything for any damage. They get a fixed % of the experience you get and thus they level automatically. I did not check for the wolf and dragon, but I doubt, that it is changed for them. Especially Hatchling raising would be far to easy that way.
I fear I need to inform you (as the Lady of Wolves), that I will never use my own Wolf again... as I got a Cougar now and I love him.
Though I love cats, I must admit that I've actually started the wrong quest and got the cougar by mistake. I originally wanted the mammoth, as it is SoOoOOOoOoOoO cute :)
Yes, the quests are marked as "one time only" in the quest log. So I guess you can get one of each of the new pets, and that's it. The new baby pets really do not have to hit the mobs themselves, they get exp just by tagging along. And the level difference (they are lvl 26) also does not seem to be really important - just for fun and giggles I had my new baby cougar out when I hunted in a party with my lvl 75 SE. Little kitty got ca. 1% per mob :)
Clan halls can buy this pets directy or rater the item to trade with the manager for a pet, just the very same item you got from the quest, so they can produce lots of em.
Nope dragon still have to fight the xp thier xp is seperate from yours <wish they were consider party member for xp ect > also they change my hatchling to a wind dragon no more tank :(
According to the boards, there are people, who "sold several baby pets already", so I doubt, it is one time.
One Kitten
It's not 1 time. I did the buffalo and cougar ones last night with the same toon. Ear quest, however, is one time only.
It is one time per pet. There are three quests and you can only get each one once. So if you lose your baby cougar on one character you cannot get another baby cougar with that quest on the same character. HOWEVER, I've been told you can purchase the pet tickets at clan halls, so my guess is you can get more that way.
It's also not a per-account quest to get a pet, but per-character. So even without deleting a character you can obtain 7 each of the 3 pets (or how many ever lvl 26+ characters you have).
As a recovering farm kid, I've fallen to bringing a few to market. :D
To me they're not as handy as a fighting pet, but their cuteness abounds.
I believe the error is when you are trying to record your own summon. If I recall correctly, you can record pets and summons, just not your own. So if you get someone else to do the recording, I think your pet/summon will show then.
it is still highly funny watching any one of my replays right now. mobs just seem to fall over for no reason, and I'll have these funny little pauses while I sit there and do nothing (healing my summon, just it doesn't show that).
I look like some uber melee god, or something, as my summon is using soulsshots, not me, so you just see me walk over to a mob, hit it 3 times wo any ss, and it just falls over dead. wonderful stuff.
I quested for a Baby Cougar & really like having it tag along throwing out those little 26 hp heals every few seconds. It does add up to a lot of help for me.
I wonder tho, it accumulates sp in the process of levelling, so does it gain other skills?

"In the wilderness you can find adult versions of the new baby pets, which can be temporarily tamed (players lose them on logging out or teleporting). These pets have buffs instead of heals. In the future, say Chronicle 5 or 6, players may be able to turn their tamed baby pets into adults but no promises!"
