They are killed pretty much instantly in one hit. They will not help you kill anything. The baby pets only heal. There is another kind of pet that is temporary, not like a wolf, strider or one of the baby pets that will buff and recharge as well, but those are much higher level and only temporary.
The wolf is a totally different kind of pet. It requires that it actually help fight to level, while the baby pets just take part of your xp while you level. The wolf is fragile in the beginning but gets much stronger as it levels. Our resident wolf expert can tell you more about them. ;)
You can't have more than one pet out at a time, but you can switch between all of them and you can trade them to others. If you are a summoner you can't have the pets out AND your summons.
I am trying to level a wolf :) with a same level human fighter. Its died a few times, so I would say it is costly at the beginning while you get the hang of it. The best for me has been to attack zombies, the wolf helps me kill them faster (wo my using ss) but I use stay and follow a lot and take any bats in the area b4 I have the wolf follow me. I try to avoid aggro for the wolf. Still its a long road to travel.
Rather than starting another topic, I got a question about new pets, does anyone know if they get to become ridable like the dragon? And if the new pets will become any helpful at the higher levels like the wolf.
Everyone that I have spoken to on that subject says the same thing:
"No, they just sit there and look cute, sorta like a teddy bear or a doll. Aside for the tiny heal or tiny recharge, they dont do anything."
And you cant ride them... at least not in this chronicle, and not to say that future chronicles will either. :p
