Ive played the game for about 2 weeks now and im starting to get anyoed when the -_- smiley comes up when i type certain words :P
Cant u input a profanity filter so you can select if you want to see the "naughty" words or not :)

Actually there is a way to get rid of the profanity filter.

First, you have to get 255 recs on your highest level toon. Next, you have to get 6 PKs without working off your karma. Then, sneak into Gludin, through the hole in the south wall, and go to the Chapel and overenchant your main weapon (don't worry, it won't break). Finally, shout "RANG RANG 923ers!" 3 times and your profanity filter will be disabled.

hmmm... some people just don't like censorship... and... there is no otherway to express certain emotions... It isn't imature... it isn't juvenile... the most etiquetely (that's a word) correct people I know sometimes let profanity slip through on unique occasions... and when u are feeling that way... -_- just doesn't cut it...

Well.. I think it depends on context. Truth of the matter is there are more eloquent ways to express oneself. And this is coming from a person (me) who worked in construction during High School in order to make some money for college.
I adopted one of the most filthy mouths you could ever have. Then one day I really "listened" to myself and thought "I turned into".
Since this game does not have a "mature" rating they need to have the filter. I'm sure the creators of the game know full well that many people swear worse than one could ever possibly imagine.
However.. once again.. we live in a society. Freedom of speech is not so cut and dried that one can say whatever one wants.
heck.. look at the recent problems that have come up because of so called freedom of speech.
With this freedom comes a great responsibility. Unfortunatley most people are not wise enough to know when to excercise that responsibility.
With maturation one starts to realize that there is a time and a place for everything. Sometimes it's ok not to be "Mr. I get to say anything I feel like" and that's ok.
Sometimes it is very appropriate to "swear like a sailor".
And this is not saying that some are more right than others but more to the point, saying that this world has so many different types of people that we need to start thinking before speaking/acting.
That's ok too. No one is any weaker for restraint.
Well I use to always space between letters and purposely mis spell the choice words. Then one day I was having a respectable cuss fight in Dion, when a GM pmed me and told me to stop using bad language. I wasn't punished or anything; just told to shut up, and I did.
I mean it really shocked me, because I had seen all sorts of flame wars involving mothers and sisters and the most terrible imaginable stuff. (stuff I wouldn't say)

I usually just try to make ppl feel ashamed of what they say.
Such as...."Great Job sucking at life", or after someone makes a stupid comment, kindly reply with "the sun breathes." then walk off

you can delete the filter file so you can see all the swearing you want
pretty sure its against the rules though so i wont tell you how
thats takeing it too far.
Because it's agenst the eula, I can't comment..but there is away around it.
funny tho, I cursed infront of mistryl,=GM=silver,kyleran, and kragg on the pts. but I did see one person who was told to watch there launage even on the pts.
