Fishing tips from the master...

Well folks, would you like to catch fish 98% of the time ?

Would you like to know what to do with all the crap you get ?

Ok, first off, you'll need to read up on how fishing works. I strongly suggest you read up on this guide. (http://boards.lineage2.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=spoiler&Number=513602) It pretty much covers the basics of fishing.

But I'm not here for some basics, I'm here for some pro tips. So here it goes :

Darkmotion fishing tip #1 : Get fishing shots. Do the quest, buy them, ask your grandma for some, just get some, if you want to fish with some interesting results.

Darkmotion fishing tip #2 : Don'T use fishing shot before you cast. You'll want to take one or two seconds to evaluate what state the fish is in, if the fish is pulling (gaining health) I'll quickly hit the SS button then reel.

Darkmotion fishing tip #3 : Keep an eye on the blue bar. You'll want to always look at the blue bar. If it's rising, reel. If it's idle, pull. It's basic fishing people, keep a lazy eye on the bobber, for transitions from reel to pull.

Darkmotion fishing tip #4 : Don'T be affraid to use high grade lures. The quality of your fishing experience depends on it, so pay the extra adena for high grade lures, you'll thank me in the long run.

Darkmotion fishing tip #5 : DON'T trade in all your fishing loot for POCF. That's just stupid if you want to sell for profit. The loot you get is used to craft common items, so for example, I could sell fish gems for 12K each, but could not sell a POCF for 1000, while fish gem gives 10 POCF. Turn the oils into POCF, and the other items you sell as is.

May you catch many lunkers. I will give out more information as time flies. I have detailed files.

I only fished on PTS for a little bit but I do know.

All the fishing skills need to be the same lvl so dont max 1 out and leave the other low.

You will catch 90% of the fish and catch them faster if you use fishing shots. If not your chances of landing a fish go down to about 50%. Shots are easy to get from a quest, you get them from killing mobs. So you can collect the quest item while grinding.

Well, that's another way to score BIG time.

If you're a good fisherman, you can use a baby duck rod and fish up just about anything.

Some areas are filled with mobs that drop fluids (hunt whites) and you can buy any grade fishing shots with your fluids.

I sold about 20 minutes worth of fluids for 20K adena.

no no no no, you can only get shots from my dwarf selling them in Giran; some long drawn out quest . . . who ever heard of such a thing? You can only get shots for a dwarf that was born with them. Everything else in this post is correct :D

Which NPC gives the fish shot quest (I need A grade fish shot)? Is it different for different grades of shot?

Read my guide, for the quest for fish shot any of the fismen learn this skill. Just go to them and start the quest "hunt for fishing shot" or what it's not called.

Increase ur POF reward by 20% ..

It takes 4 fishing oil (1 pof) to make a greater fishing oil (5 POF)

Since fishing doesnt require much mana u will have plenty of mana to produce greater fishing oils while fishing.

Or take it to the next level and produce 1 Premium Fish oil from 4 grater Fish Oil, even more POCF (25 :))
Recipes can be obtained at my shop ;) for a small fee of course :P

Hmmmm, No. With the premium oil, I got like 400 oils sitting around waiting to be processed.

Impressive, im think i have about an 85% succes rate, what i hate most though is when fish just don't bite.
I keep moving every 5 minutes or so in hoping that it will help but im not sure if it does, does anyone have any ideas on this?

Lvl 13 with baby duck rod, works 90% with fishing shots. ;) Gonna try with lvl 15 expertise tonite.

Do high grade lures only add for sped of fish biting? Or do they do anything else?

What i want to know is how does the pole relate to the skill?

From what i can see with each increase in skill you inflict more damage, but the HP of the fish also goes up. You have the nongrade rod then they have the d, c, b, a rods...

Whats the level limit of the nongrade rod?

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like the baby duck rod will last forever. With fishing lvl 22 the rod does 300 some dmg and barely scratches the fishies. I'll try moving up to a C or B grade rod and see what happens. Lets hope I don't need an S grade.

From what the guide says a lvl 22 fish is around 1400 to 1500 HP....What do you feel is the cut off limit of the baby duck rod?

I will test this out today Splatter.

I have over 600 instances of fishing piled up in data, from skill level 5 to skill lvl 15.

At skill lvl 15, I can gather up about 500K worth of stuff per hour of fishing.

How higher your skill expertise, how higher the fish grade.
How higher your rod grade, how more dmg you do to the fish

The difference of timer when you fish and the dmg you do, you can see on forehand what fish you gonna get.
