For what its worth, let it be known that at 12:15 am EST, I leveled my cougar to level 80 100%. If anyone has any insight to potential quest(s) to level this baby to a full grown cat, like the one on display at Rune, please let me know. I did take a screenshot, which I'll try and host somewhere so all can see.

From what I understand the new pets will never evolve into the grown-up version. But CONGRATS on your fine achievement!!!
Without any blessed pet spiritshot, over 90... not bad, considering it uses almost no MP of the 600+ it has at level 80 (1500 HP also). Throw in some shots, acumen and zerk, and it definitely can serve as a healer when XPing. However, I leveled it in hopes that it can one day grow to an adult and serve as a buffer.
There is a quest called "Raise It with Love" in the Beast Farm which yields a jewel of some type. Anyone know what the jewel is used for?
The three babies DO NOT have three stages.
Only tamable beast have three stages to make them follow u.
The babies stay babies untill NCSoft do something for them, maybe in C999 or so...
That one in town was a pet raised from the beast farm using special spice. Those pets, when raised to full adult, will heal and buff you while you stay on the beast farm. I have done this myself.
Regarding the quest, I did finish it. It gave me a jewel which when given to the quest NPC yielded like 65K adena. It is meant to introduce the process of growing pets on the farm and in no way will help baby pets grow. Also, the special spice for feeding pets on the beast farm will not work on your baby pet. Tried that too =) So, it seems the baby pet will remain a baby in C4.
On a related note, I did hear the baby bird heals MP. Can someone confirm this? The cougar heals HP.
Yeah, the trained pets from the beast farm are pretty cool, decent XP too. The annoying thing about the pets from the beast farm is that if you run too far away from them, SoE or log, they go poof.
I found that the buffs varied depending on what type of food you fed it.
how about I just shoot it a couple of times and see howmuch exp it gives me? I do that with most mobs, and I ussually don't take the time to feed it first ;)
Meh, I did the quest for my TnxGivingDinner birdy the day C4 came out, and I haven't lvled it past 29... got bored of looking for blessed pet rezzes in my inventory ^^ (I must admit I rezzed it to watch it die with an arrow in it a few times too though ;) doom knights are not your pet's friend!)
