I have a new character and before C4 came out my friend and I were playing around and I pk'd him by an accident b/c I must of hit him with top damage is there anyway I could get rid of that one pk count? If I pvp will it even it out and get rid of it at all? PLEASE HELP
The Sin Eater quest can reduce your PK count. But actually a PK count of 1 is no problem at all. 5/6 is the magic barrier. With 5 everything is alright, with 6, you got a problem.
If you have up to 5 PKs and die while having karma, the chance to drop your gear upon death does not increase. Hit the 6th PK though and that chance increases dramatically.
Thank you I actually want to use one of those free weapons but Ican't b/c I've got a pk count of oneand I want to get rid of it in order to use the weapon so if I do thats quest it will get ridof my one pk count?
You can't get the newb weapons with a PK count of 1? I don't remember reading that.
heh, unfortunately, NCSoft hasn't made a full database of directions for this game. I do remember that in yesterday's maintaince that dice would be working again - but they are not. If the OP is finding out that in C4 that with a PK count of 1 he cannot use the newbie weapon then it could be a bug - it's C4 and probally the bugiest release of a game that I have ever seen (and I've beta tested for Activision for a few years).
How to remove PKs. Go to the southern entrance of the wastelands, see the black judge just west of where you port in. The black judge will send you on a guest and at the end of it you will earn some manicles (sp). You double click on them and the sin eater appears then you go kill some mobs, you don't get the xp or sp from the mob - it all goes to the sin eater. When the sin eater levels up then take it back to the black judge and some PKs will be removed.
I've known people with 50+ PKs that have done the quest and had 1 PK removed and sometimes it will remove 10 PKs. Once you are back down to 0 PKs put the manicles away until you get another PK and then reuse them (I think that you may have to do a portion of the quest. gl

Sin Eater does seem to be the solution to the OP's concern. I don't think the OP is still red b/c a low level charater couldn't get past the guards in the first place. Unless there is another bug out there - could be.

It's the weapons you can get from the event he can't have, the cat only give them if you are a novice player and if you don't have any PK.
there's two different series of the quest. One is for over level 40 and one is for under level 40. On the under 40 I was able to complete it on a level 14 charater - not too difficult. Almost all of my charaters get a PK on farmers now before level 40 just so I can get the sin eater quest active. My play style (especially on alts that I use to work the manor on) usualy involves random PvP or PKing someone - just like the guy tring to train my Warsmith the other day in Branded; don't run from the mobs that he's traning you with - kill the trainer then run if you need to (it seems that fake death does not work if someone is actually attacking you). With my sin eater quest active, I don't have to worry about counting my PKs to see if I can defend myself or hunting area. I just kill the charater in question (or get killed) then work off the karma by grindig on mobs then level the sin eater (if I haven't already leveled it) and turn it in when I get 4 PKs on the charater - it only takes 30-45 minutes to level a sin eater.

But the OP is in no way able to fulfill the sin eater quest, as to do so, he needs to travel through lvl 40+ territory and spend more money than he has. If he had enough money to get a sin eater, he would not want to use a starter weapon.
Sorry, but the sin eater quest requires a couple artisan frames, which are expensive to get.
ya it says it on this webe site in events and it says it when you go to get the weapon that you can't have a pk count of 1 or more and I've got a count of only 1!

As a Character below Level 40 you do not need to go to the
Sea of Spores and collect Trisalim Spider Venom Sacs, you
have to go to the Orc Barracks and hunt down some of the
cute little dogs they got there and bring there pelts to some
guy near the barracks.
The only real expensive task is to create the Menacles.
