In a desperate attempt to make money I am making a scavy (after LostGraceII get to Artisan).
Now before you say anything, I cant work the manor, so do not redirect me to that please.
Anyways, I need to know the best place to spoil for d grade at level 20. I am think either windmill hill (bears spoil a.bone), or RoD (I heard someone here say their is a a.bone spoil their to).
And also, will spoil level 2 work more on the bears you think? Or will their be the same rate of spoils?
personally my favorite spot was always the hobgoblins and the bears outside of Dion, on the east side. Get lots of goodies from there that you can use in crafting or sell for adena.
My scav is perma lvl 20-40...I lvl up, making money by spoiling certain recipes and mats and then de lvl (lately I've been using the sin eater to stop my leveling completely, saves time :) ) Quick and easy money at lvl 20 is the ole mahum reserves at windawood manor, they spoil recipes for D-SS which I put up overnight at 25kish each and almost always sell out.
Increasing your spoil to lvl 2 will make the SPOIL land at a higher rate, but will not guarentee the creature turning blue. Thats a different chance altogether.
i have found a good deal of good places to hunt as a dwarf lvl 20 to 30 and back again.
spoiling and sweeping every mob means no using the stun unless its absolutely necessary. then again, you wont be sweeping often.
regarding good sweeps, try this strategy;
FIRSTLY and foremost, remember to return to town only after you level up. in town sell the crsp you get to npc's, sell the good stuff overnight.
Hunt the spiders and arachnids just north of Forgotten Temple from 20 to 22 lvl. after that they will trun blue and you wont get the optimal money returns.
from 22-26 take a try at the ol mahum camps around AC ROA and ROD. do ROD and ROA with caution as they really hurt if you dont either hunt twinked out or with many potions and antidotes. these spoil good mats that sell well to the store, and some mats that will sell very well to players including whole piece bone shirts and gaiters.
26-34 take the north road out of orc barracks and head to the area surrounding the dawn competition called Windy Hill (NOT WINDMILL HILL). here you hunt winds. giggling winds, singing winds, babbling winds and whispering winds. hunt them all and really grind them good, you have a chance at a really really good drop here, the Elven Bow. you wont get shafts, or recipes, but the bow will drop eventually. make sure you get some wicked ***** Mdef cos these winds like to sleep you and twister you.
34-40 you can hunt in catas or necros or my personal favourite in DeathPass, or fields of silence. exp isnt great but thats exactly why we go there. not to level, but grind out some drops. in DV, hunt the wyrms, spoil them for SoR blades with a 1/330 or so chance. pretty good. in the fields south of giran, hunt everything. remote chance at dropping whole top D items (1/2900 or so). i got a staff of life there once. off of alligators.
to maximise your money making, try and hunt without SS and use HP pots, antidotes, L2DAY scrolls if possible, alacrity, and haste pots. after lvl 30, you should look into greatr hp heal potions. more expesive, but much more effective against hp drops if youre solo pole-ing.
Outside Dion, the bears spoil Leather, and sometimes drop Leather or Animal skins. The Hobgoblins spoil Coal if i'm not mistaken. The really nice thing about this area, its right beside town (not much running) and its a relativley safe place. The bears have no aggro at all. The hobgoblins do social aggro, so make sure you don't attack one with another beside it and you will be ok. This is a small area though (the side of a hill) if you walk out of this area, there are some orcs that are aggro, so watch out.

I have nevered gotten SOR from wyrms when i spoil them. I hunted there alot with my spoiler, and the only ones i got that as a spoil was from Road Scavanger. :)
LostGrace if you have the time to lvl a wolf up I suggest you do that. They work great with a scavy because the scavy gets the aggro from spoiling and the wolf does damage to save you money on SoulShots. Since your intent is to make money not having to buy SS would be a boost. You can get a wolf to about lvl 35 in a week or two. I place my wolf on my low lvl scavy and seed and spoil and it's such fast killing that I wear robes on my scavy just so I have enough MP to keep going. I don't really get hit enough that I miss the heavy armor because the mob dies to fast to do any real damage.
Side note here if you decide to use a wolf. Spoil will work just fine even if your wolf is many lvls above the mob, but drops will be almost non existant because it would be like you hunting dark blue mobs. you dont get many drops from hunting dark blue mobs and neither will your wolf. Sine your wolf will do over 50% of the damage drops will suck, but I make up for it by seeding with the manor, which you are unable to do. So the wolf may not be for you, but it's an option if your okay with more spoils, but fewer drops.
I think you may recall my wolf, Vishao, biting at your [censored] a few days ago in the arena. :)
