New Super Hardcore Server?

Could you put up a superhardcore server?

Like 1/2 XP and 1/4 adena and 1/8 SP and 1/16 drops?

This would be infinitely more hardcore and would probably attract alot of new subscribers.

No. All servers should have the same rules.
Actually, I always thought that there should be a Hardcore server that allowed some pvp in town as well as some minor looting. Not for me but I believe that there are more hardcore pvp'ers who would enjoy this type of thing.

Since when? Teon has its own settings and it started well after the other servers with very different economic conditions.

This would be a server for the really hardcore players to play on so they could have undisputable bragging rights.

yes. and odd number servers and even numbered serves have seal competition/rewards on different weeks.

the exp/drop rates are identical.
Give me a server with identical xp, sp, item, and adena drop rates...but give 5x the material drop and 10x the spoils. :) Oh yeah, now that would be awesome...

That's not hardcore.

Add:
1. No "safe" zones anywhere.
2. Everyone permanently flagged.
3. After first class change, death is permanent.
4. Drop rules for PvP same as for PvE.
Gotta agree with the troll^^ Make one like that i am there.

Hardcore seems to be defined by how much time is invested by certain players that post on the forums.

But please... continue to add suggestions that would make for a more hardcore server since there are people that would want it.

So we're up to 1/2 rates.
No Safe Zones

PermaDeath After lvl 20 (might as well just have corpse looting then)
Well... how about PermaDeath without a rez... you can be brought back if another player will go through the trouble of bringing you back but no 'go back to town option'.
While you're dead your corpse can be at the very least be partially looted.
PVE drop rules at all times. Weapon drops are possible with 0 PK's and even while flagged.
Every character is considered pvp-ok and flagged at all times.
Then after that, they should make a super-mega-hardcore server, where you permadie the moment you log out or get disconnected.
Taken from D&D rule: AoE affects all (friend and foe)
Wonder if there would be healer type toon on that hardcore server of yours....

I don't think so.

Wow, what's with the hate? Judge my ideas on their merits, not my postcount. Or is that all you got?

Revised because of a better idea:
1. No "safe" zones anywhere.
2. Everyone permanently flagged.
3. AoE affects all.
4. Drop rules for PvP same as for PvE.

If there's a market, why not?

I'm basing this on the assumption that NCSoft is a corporation devoted to serving markets and making money.

This is also to satisfy people that state how hardcore the game is when in reality they're talking about the grind and not the actual game mechanics which don't promote combat.
Such a server already exist, its called "Counterstrike" :D

I wasn't really directing that comment at you. Sorry if you felt it was implied but you were not who I was talking about and I don't think you've ever implied that.

The original notion was to show that just making the grind longer doesn't really make it more hardcore. The suggestions that have been posted would actually make a far more hardcore pvp game then just making the grind unbelievably long.

I didn't realize that counterstrike was a point and click RPG with levels and swords and such. Their box art is really misleading.

you've obviously never played with the warcraft mod....
Hardcore = permadeath and corpse looting.

There should be safe zones though, like towns, as staging areas and refuges.

The first online multiplayer game had both permadeath and corpse looting: www.british-legends.com (http://www.british-legends.com)
I used to play Diablo][ a lot, hardcore mode of coarse. I would not mind that server but ... as an occasional fun, not home server to stay on all the time. Or maybe ... who knows :)

Idea is good, but instead of 1/16 drop rate 16x drop rade would match such type more :)
I played a game with perma death, provided you didn't buy favors from the gods (extra lives) ahead of time, and every time you died you dropped whatever was in your hands. Usually both sword and shield. If I cleric didn't "keep" your body (preserve spell) and rez you, you dropped everything. That was hard core, but people almost always gave you the stuff back. That wouldn't really fly in this game.
I would like to see;

Refuse to flag in pvp within ten levels and die partial corpse loot

Refuse to flag in pvp with five levels and die, full corpse loot

All pvp deaths one item loot

The higher your pk count/karma less likely to drop or be looted but all pks must be within ten levels

1/2 xp from pve but you get 10x xp from winning pvp

Public bounty system, get rewards for killing people with bounties on their head

Increased adena drop rate

Cats sell everything so you can equip (like pts)
