as many people know in c4 you can ally the orcs or silenos in the goddard region. As you do the quests and get further into them you get more and more rewards. You also need this quest to do the 3rd class change. This quest also takes forever to do.
Now, a couple of my clan member are lvl 2 in this quest and were collecting more badges to get to lvl 3 alliance with the orcs. We made a 9 man group and about 4 of the people in it were allied with the orcs and were working on the 3rd lvl for the alliance. These 9 people saw some war tags in the orc area, so they went in to kill the war tags. Knowing that they couldnt attack any of the orcs, or be punished in the quest, they had only the people who werent alliance with the orcs kill the orcs that got on them. None of the people who were allied hit any orc.
Well needless to say, they got punished cause some people in the party killed the orcs that were on them. They lost all the badges they had for the next level in the quest AND they got bumped back a lvl in the alliance. They are now lvl 1 and no badges. They were lvl 2 with about half the badges for lvl 3.
This seems like a bug in the game design cause they never broke the alliance. They never hit the orcs once.
anyone else think this is just a stupid design for the quest?
Actually.. if I am understanding you correctly.. it is brilliant (but sucky).
Essentially what the designers have done is to have the orcs "notice" that the people with some faction toward the orcs were allying themselves with people who attack the orcs.
It actually means that the quest designers worked in some depth to it!
Try to trick the game and suffer the consequences... [censored]. :p Take your alliances more serious next time. Be happy that the orcs haven't outright killed you and looted your corpse, because that's the least that I'd do when one of my mercenaries tried to cheat on me by killing my brothers.
I don't think theres any deepth in this...
It's just the same as all members of the party get quest items
nevertheless they did the last hit or not...
It's just a "Party Quest" and so are the Mons there "Party Sensitive"...
Actually that is what I wanted to know for a while now. I am still doing the alliance quests for 3rd class change, so I have not dared to go into orc country, because I did not want to risk losing the quest items. So here's the question: do the orcs still attack you even if you are "allied" with them? Let's say I am allied with them and go there alone, with nobody with me who is NOT allied. Will I get aggroed? Would be super stupid, I basically would have to bsoe out to avoid losing the faction bonus o.O
Once you have the first level in the alliance, the mobs of your faction will not aggro you. However, both outposts have aggro mobs that are not silenos or orcs that will still attack you even when you are level 1 or higher in the alliance.
It's an interesting quest. I think this allows people at war to do there quest safely if they happen to choose the opposite of their enemies. My alliance ran into the same problem attacking our enemies as they were doing their quest and one member in the party who didn't touch any mobs lost all his quests. Kinda harsh.

Cal
Try and trick the game? How? They knew they couldnt attack the orcs or something would happen, so they didnt attack any of the orcs. They took it serious, thus they didnt attack any orcs at all. I guess next time we should just let our clan members die, pick up their loot if any, and tell them to tap back for 4% right? They can always get the items again, but they did nothing and lost hours and for some, days worth of work for standing there.
That does seem rather badly implemented. Afterall, even if we say, the orcs are taking notice that you are allied with people who are fighting them, wouldn't you actually have to be fighting the orcs witrh these people in order for them to know you are together? Because the last time I checked, I could not tell which person belonged to which party, even tell that a person was partied unless I tried to invite them to my party. So unless these orcs are now using [censored], there is no logistical way for them to tell who is in the party and who is not. Now if this was an actual alliance where all the people had an alliance taf which was the same, I could almost accept the idea that the orcs are seeing thaty a person's allies are fighting them and they are not doing anything to stop this from happening, so these supposed allies who were questing for them must really be enemies. But I can only partially accept that as true if they are members of the same alliance.
However, because there are both jerks and idiots in this game, programming a quest in such as way that a member of your alliance can set you back from a week's work of quest grinding simply by killing a member of the faction you are questing for simply because they decided not to like you that day is not acceptible. And this goes with party members more fully. One also should not be penalized if you are in a party and someone else decides to go attack faction you are allied with in such a way that you don't know what they are doing until after they have done, such as when a party is forming and the group member's might be scattered in various places of the map until a grinding area is chosen. No person in this situation can really know what any one at any exact moment in time until after some action had occured. Now two people are grouped like this and had never once seen each other until just now, might be allied with different sides. One person could conceivably be hunting for this quest while the group is getting ready to go. Because the other person does not know that this hunting is going on, they cannot choose to lrave the group or warn the person to stop before the kill occurs. Suddenly they are down a week's worth of hunting, for an action that was commited which they could neither know about nor prevent if they did. Is it right for them to be penalized in this situation? The anwer is no, because some people do have to rely on random pick up groups, it is not right nor proper to force them to constantly monitor every party members actions and whereabouts nor limit the number of free people they are able to group with, if the number of people on at the time they play is very small, and this player has the choice of either joining this random group or not joining a group at all that evening.
