So I've been sitting on this Nirvana Axe for a year now. And FINALLY C4 arrives and I get to put an SA on it. And what are my options?
magic weakness
magic poison
magic power
This really makes me question who it was that made the decision to put those SAs on the Nirvana Axe.
Let's take a quick look at what classes might use this weapon. Warcryers, Overlords, and .... oh that's right, no one else. Warcryers and Overlords are the only classes who are casters and need a blunt to use their abilities. So what did we really get?
Magic Power - I have to admit, this is a fine SA. Great choice as orc casters tend to have poor m.atk. At least mine does.
The other two, poison and weakness though, are complete garbage. ORCS ALREADY HAVE CASTABLE POISON AND WEAKNESS HELLO.
Warcryers could really use mana up for buffs. Moreso with C4. Warcryers really aren't nukers, they need to be able to mix it up in combat so being forced to wear robes in order to be able to buff is not desirable. Robes and combat do not mix. Either class could use acumen since we cast so unbearably slowly. Or since both classes are combat classes, all of the decent or good combat SAs would be appropriate. NOT 2 subpar random debuffs that are already castable by the exact classes which are going to use this weapon.
The worst part about this is that Orcs have a long history of getting the short end of the stick in general and on SAs in particular.
On the Nirvana Axe note, where are the B and A grade 1h mage hammers? Why are high level Orc casters forced to try to overenchant a Nirvana Axe to +8 in order to get an A grade weapon?
And poor Tyrants, they have suffered the worst of any class in L2 in terms of SAs. Fist blade, which is middle C, has haste. That's a good SA. Moving up to Great Pata, all 3 of it's SAs are worthless. You cannot justify the expense of the SA with what you get. Low B, the Arthro Nail, same situation. Top B, the Bellion Cestus, again same situation. The SAs are total garbage, you cannot justify the expense of getting one it is more productive to enchant your jewelry to +3. And we all know how useful that is to get +1 m.def per 350k scroll.
It is very frustrating to see so few choices. My Tyrant still has no SA, and given the cost of low A grade may never get a weapon with an SA. And my Warcryer now has 1 option after a year of waiting. I wish that someone who had actually PLAYED an Orc had made the decision of what SAs to have available on a Nirvana Axe, and I wish that after all this time someone at NCSoft would grow a sack and change Tyrant weapon SAs to actually be worth the cost of putting them on the weapon.
