Seriously is this what the game designers intended, to have you lose such a large paportion of your catch by failing to convert them into mats? The Success rate is pityful, before I posted this thread I was just in-game and had caught 8 fish for the bloody hell of it and NOT ONE OF THEM turned into anything! Every one of them failed, and that I find is just stupid. Is there some secret or skill that increases the success rate of converting fish into mats? I'd really like to see more than half the fish I catch not go boom.
the overall success rate from my experience is about 50%, so i would advise u to gather greater piles of fish, so a loosing streak doesn't feel so bad ;)
When I get three in a row to go poof... I move my location and wait for 15 seconds, then try again, just in case the RNG is fixed on a bad number. Superstitious, I suppose, but I figure, what is the loss if it doesn't help?

Still I am making real good profit from the fishes, that do turn out as giving mats. Just one fish that will bring 2 Premium fish oil, would give 50 fishing proof... which is really not bad.
Yes I to have been making a nice profit from my catches that do indeed turn into mats. Lucky for me I'm a pretty good fisher. My problem is, why all the effort then so much loss? I can live with the thought that not all the fish turn into mats but **** did they really have to make it 50/50?
I've made about 3.5mil maybe a little more from selling my proof of fish. So fishing hasn't been a losing thing for me, but I see it being better for the effort we put into it.

Yeah, I did a big fishing trip so I had a lot of fish to go through so it "wouldn't feel so bad" when I had some fail. 15 failures in a row had me reaching for the KY. That's in addition to the many other failures mixed in with that bunch.
It takes me 2 hours to use up 100 High grade lures. I usually get between 2500-3000 POCF in that time frame plus atleast 3 of each different type of accessories. I would agree that conversion success rate is about 50%.
POCF sell pretty fast and at 500 apiece minus the cost of lures it a pretty dam good profit.
