Liar liar pants on fire ! So many lies, you people are akin to fishermen. Your stories are sweet and delightfull, but what really happens is HELL (hence when the Devil steps in).
Lie #1 : C4 hardware upgrade to bear with server loads. Muahahahahhahahaha ! That's CRAP. Hindemith now shows FULL ! And I sometimes get kicked by the server to make way for new players (Kick the friggin shops you idiots !).
Lie #2 : Fishermen guides. What a joke. These guys are fishermen without a doubt, they lie more than they tell the truth. First of all, they speak of different types of lures attracting different types of fish. BULL CRAP ! I've tested this over several levels of fishing, and always using 10 lures of each type per sample. The type of fish you catch with a certain lure is PURELY RANDOM, not related in any way as all those idiots guides claim.
Lie #3 : They also speak of different fishing spots... What a crap attempt at trying to get bots not to fish. Like they can't move and fish different spots automatically... Sweet fishing spots should be there... Get some excitement in fishing. Right now it's only related to fishing skill, so basically there are no variables. How can you be so static in a fast moving world ?
I'd suggest you make fishing gear that would actually make a difference (lures, rods). Rods should affect loot, so this way you could still get fish gems and thin bones even if you a high level fisherman. Or make reverse crafting recipes, wich make 1 shiny fish gem into two regular fish gem, or something of the likes.
Make more common recipes available to the general public. Come on, fishing is for everybody, why should have to have a clan hall to have recipies ?
Make some fishing gear. A fishing hat that would make extra damage, or how about a pair of gloves that incrase conversion rate.
As it is now, I will make myself a few "target" fishermen, for goodness sake a lvl 12 fisherman can pull a 50K adena fish if he lands a 2 fish gems (Big Yellow nimble are good).
Oh, and lastly, the fishing greifing... LOL, that was hilarious. Fishing is a highly social activity. You meet the weirdest people in that context...
Some peeps were trying to greif fisherpeople by trying to bite on their lures. They also tried to distract fisherpeople as they had fish on their lines...
I said fisherpeople because when they realized I could still catch fish, they just moved to another fisherperson... Just gives a new meaning to the term "baiter" doesn't it ?
Yeah it would be nice to get recipes somewhere else. Someone was (and most likely still is) trying to sell a recipe for +4wit/-4men tattoo for 1 mil. Say what? You need a recipe for each tattoo you craft. Why hassle with crafting when you can buy the tattoo outright for 400K from players or get it from mammon even cheaper.
yeah I like it, as Im all for things that aren't grind. But I do think it has many failings. The main one being, I was excited that I could craft my own swift attack and fast cast potions, farming all my own fish mats. But my fishing is too high to get any of the junk that goes into them. I think that instead of having a 50% item conversion, they could have a 50% chance that you get items = to your fishing level, and a 50% chance you get items lower if not much lower than your fishing level.
Also I'd say DM is right. They said in that tutorial video that different locations gave different results. But From my extensive fishing travels I can say that is definently untrue.

only thing I noticed from diff locations is you get more or less bites. inside aden town I lose my baits very often cuz no fish will bite. and outside aden, in the rover, it like 99% chanse I get a fich on the hook.. was I just unlucky this time inside aden town or did someone else experiance that to?
Actually just yesterday, I lost 5 baits in a row, cause there was no more fish to bite. Then I moved (actually I turned a bit to the right) and it was going all easy again.
What I fail to understand though, is why the bait is lost, if there is no fish biting. I never knew, that fish could be clever enough to fiddle the bait off the hook without biting. Such cleverness should be reserved for Cats.
I got my hands on a bunch of recipes yesterday and guess what... I will never be able to craft any of them. All the potions require materials, that I cannot fish anymore. I get purple fishes at the least and if they do not just vanish (for which the probability is WAY to high), they give Shiny Fish Gem, Thick Bones, Premium Oil, Shiny Fish Scales or key material.
Unfortunately for the potions like GHP, GHaste, GMHaste you need Greater Fish Oil and Fish scales (without shiny!).
About the opening of fishes, I would love to see more diversity.
Right now, I can get 2-4 Premium Oil... or no oil.
Why is it impossible to get a couple Greater Oil or just regular Fish Oil ?
The loot tables for fishes could be so much better. They would crowd our inventories like mad, but hey, that's what fishing is for. At least that way a professional fishercat could gather all ressources, not only the big ones, which aren't even needed for most of the consumable crafts.
This is kinda as if Animal Bones would not drop or spoil beyond level 20 and be unavailable in Manor at higher levels too.
Seriously, what did I get for raising my fishing levels ? I cannot gather the materials, that I wanted to get any more. Fishing Proofs for yourself will easily be enough after a few days, so why keep fishing ?

I really really was looking forward on getting myself a healing/haste/swift potion recipie for my common crafting but the only CH owner rule is just idiotic.

Yes, the biting rate in Aden is much lower than outside Aden. I lose around 40% of my lures there. In the lake south of Aden, I only lose 10% of the lures.
I opened the item creation window in our clan hall (after I got fully buffed and a massage) and I was stunned to see all the recipes... some selling for a pittance.
Then I took my uber mage self to Rune and lvled for 2 hours with only one brief rest and then logged so I could see southpark...

Well, some peeps didn't think it was funny. I got a PM from a Core clan officer, telling me their members had been warned about this "greifing".
To tell you the truth, it was hardly greifing. I think these peeps (as well as many others) just went nuts when they saw me and tried to do something funny so I'd talk about them...
There are ways to REALLY greif fisherpeople, and trying to bite on their lures is NOT one of them. I won't speak directly of these greifing techniques, because I don't want them to spread.

Either sleep them or root them...unlike normal mobs, they disappear after a short while. (Tested this a couple times with my SE who takes a beating too)

Yes, this is true. They go away after 30 seconds, so all you have to do is survive a short while.
Now how stupid is that ? Why is this feature designed this way ? This only helps bots.
If you fish up a mob and don't react, you should be killed.
Never managed to root not even sleep them.
My root and run tactic is reduced to "run and battleheal" ... I FEEL NERFED!
But when they disappear you loose chance they drop 3 A fishing shots on death! (And you loose a chance to drop BW tunic on your death :D )

Make the stupid mobs be less magic resistant, since they spawn in your face. Furthermore, change the **** loot tables on these things, because you guys are just being stupid.
Give rewards like special lures when you kill the mobs (**** I use high grade lure, I kill the **** mob, and he drops a medium grade lure. Get bent, fish). Give the quest item baits, to attract treasure chests. And how about giving shots of relevant level.
A fishing map for a treasure, a piece of a fishing hat, make these mobs interesting... I know you can do it...
