looking for plain fish gems

now that i have all the recipes in my book for the pretties and patches, i need to find an inexpensive, reliable source for those plain fish gems (need 300 for each item). such as which lure (color/lvl) and which location is better suited for collecting gems. been looking through the boards and not getting any specific information about this. I'm on bartz, btw.
Any assist is greatly appreciated.

Yes, EVERYBODY will be looking for those.

For best fish gem, open these kinds of fish :

Yellow nimble
Big Yellow nimble
Small orange nimble

These fish will yeild 2 plain fish gems. Lvl 13-14 fishing skill.

I'm actually thinking of just selling the fish. Selling nimble fish, test your luck to get fish gems !

I think it just depends on your lvl expertise not your regular level.

ya, I know, but if you are looking to train fishing up to lvl 12 or 13, the toon doing it HAS to be lvl 36 (or was that 38?) at a minimum. if you have a higher toon you haven't trained fishing for, great. if you have an alt that is lower, not so great, you have some leveling to do :P

I'm finding, as darkmotion has, that fishing lvl right around the 12 lvl is best for getting fish gems instead of shiny fish gems, and thin fish bones vs thick.

Just raise it carefully. The level where you stop getting small yellow fish is the one to go for.

All the blue nimble fish yeld plain fish gems. Skill mastery 8. They're rare, though, at this level. But possible to get.

Every time? No fish oil, no junk? And do you mean plain blue or any blue?

only the nimble fish give fish gems. And you are always going to get a bunch of junk when you fish :P

Yeah, that's pretty much what I meant.
All the nimble blue fish have a CHANCE to yield fish gems. As we all know, nothing in L2 is certain. I think I also said that it was rare.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering. All the yellow and the smallest orange nimble fish yield gems too, in stacks of 2 - so fishing for those is preferable. ;)
