AOE attacks and debuffs do not work on unflagged players in mutual clanwars. All other debuffs and attacks work on white players in mutual clan wars, but I have tried constanly and never got an overlord seal to affect an unflagged mutual war tagged player.
I.E I stand right next to the player and cast my attack, say silence, I recieve no message that the player was unaffected by the seal and no blue crown appears above the charecter.
alll I have to say is that sucks =/ Now I am going to have to wait until they flag on my party members before running in with seals...hope they fix this =(
How is this a feature instead of a bug in a 'mutual' clan war (ya know like the c3 declared clan wars)? In a mutual clan war you are supposed to be in a constant state of flag. Otherwise the new system is 100% worthless since it means that several classes can't even use their bread and butter skills in a 'mutually declared' war. I thought NCSoft wanted this to be more pvp oriented, not with the new clan war system making some skills useless.
next you will say that the way melee can run behind a walking nuker and have to keep clicking to attack (no constant like in PVE or old clan wars) and they can't use skills because it says "Target is too far" even though you are right next to them.
If it was designed that way then why the heck can all other classes use Debuffs apart from Overlords and anyone can use normal nukes, but not AOE's?
But you see, no debuffs work. Its the same as regular pvp. Gotta wait for people to flag, and yes, its fair because melee can actually do what they're suppose to do.
LOL, in mutual war you can hold CTRL and use ANY skill on an unflagged player, this however is not the same with AOE attacks.
I can run up and sleep somebody and use my lvl 35 one person dots on them, but NONE of my AOE attacks will work such as silence, slow, dots and so on. However any nuker class can use their single prson silence, slow, dots, cancel and so on on unflagged mututal warred players.
Ok, it's supposed to be a MUTUAL war, meaning both sides have declared. With the old system (a system that worked) you were in a constant flagged state to the enemy clan. It made sense, you're at WAR you're supposed to do harm to one another. Now however it's a carebear war system, you declare war and the ONLY thing to change is you lose 1/4th the experience? You still need to use control to attack and aoe is useless in clan wars which to me doesn't make sense. Why do we have FORCE an attack against an enemy that we're at a MUTUAL war with? You don't have to force attack in sieges and that's supposed to be the same idea, warfare on a short term basis with the castle being the ultimate goal. Wtf kind of 'improvement' is this?
IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT!!!!
The old war system worked fine and made sense, this new system is total carebear rubish. So what's the point of declaring war other then reduced exp loss?
If you don't think it was broken, you apparently never had a war with support classes moved to an unwarred clan.
That is of course not to say that the current system is perfect, but it fixed some inherent flaws, while, NCSoft style, adding a bunch of new ones.
Still, at present time - it's a feature, not a bug. Like so many other things that NCKR will never admit could not POSSIBLY have been intended the way they wound up working out.
Actually yes I did have wars with out of clan healers on the enemy. Was it annoying? Yes. Was it worse then the current system? Hell no. On gustin if the enemy had an out of clan healer they got dropped reguardless for 'interfering'. After awhile ppl either stopped doing it or just had them tagged to save some exp on them cause one way or another they were gonna get dropped.
But that was something that ppl tried to cheat the system, right now the system itself doesn't work.
Why can't it stay the same as it was mechanically (I.E. constantly flagged to each other) apart from launching an attack on an enemy will make you flag. Makes perfect sense to me.
But you see, no debuffs work. Its the same as regular pvp. Gotta wait for people to flag, and yes, its fair because melee can actually do what they're suppose to do.
Now it takes skill and planning.
Sorry but you can initiate combat with Gloom/Weakness/Slow/Sleep/Root I believe. I am unsure about Silence, but most other Debuffs/DoT's will work even if the warred target has not flagged.
All AoE debuffs, do not work unless the target is flagged.
It's a severe disadvantage for AoE debuffing characters, even if it were enabled it wouldn't make much difference to the outcome of balance so I can't see why it isn't.
This is just another reason why they should remove the need to force (control) attack in clan wars. It's just a royal pain in the butt for everyone and worked perfectly in C3.
I agree!!! Also, in C4 clanwar, you turn purple when you attack an enemy engaged in clanwar. Would this allow someone who is outside of clanwar to drop you without going red?

Yes the new griefing tactic now it to detag damage dealers so that you flag on people you are at war with but get dropped by the untagged DDs for a 4% loss. Anther tactic pioneered by Thor on Bartz was to detag enough people from one of the pledges in your alliance so that war cannot be declared on them (less then 15 members) so they cannot be killed without going red and they can kill you for a 4% loss. Also that pledge can benefit from overlord buffs and alliance chat.
The turning purple when attacking a warred player isn't a bad idea imo, the holding of control and AOE debuffs not working IS. It makes the pvp system unbearably clumsy and even more broken now.
I think C4 just has it in for OL's as a whole...
Zerk got nerfed, their only half decent buff. They nerfed crowd control in PVE (was needed in pvp, not pve), now to control mass crowsds of mobs I have to wait till the initial root wears off and the whorde comes at me untill I can cast again (and probably get interrupted), oh plus the new areas with mobs that spawn 7 minions when they die.
They nerfed AOE attacks in PVE, now they also seem to have nerfed them in PVP too..... A necro can come up to me while I'm fighting and silence, debuff, gloom and anchor me without having to be attacked. To silence or debuff a warred player I must wait for them to start hitting me.
ctrl is bs. though I like the idea that you should be able to accidentally kill your mates... server lag causees probably half those incidents rather then newb stupidity.
war should like a siege, but im fond of the new system flagging people in a war, that nails the out of party healers.
btw with all these clan halls .5% is nothing... I would also like to see wars doubled to 2% xp loss, but that might just be me.

Lol, that wasn't pioneered anywhere, I saw that exploit reading the patch notes and was doing it on the PTS. But it is an issue, not as much as the clumsy controls and bufgged AOE's though.

If you didnt see this coming or even think of it you must be blind. How about kill the non war tags so they take 4%?

Unless you like to lose you do not attack DDs first, you go for healers. They also do not flag early in the fight so if you want to drop them you must go red which means possibly ++++ gear to the enemy. They just sit back wait for someone to take significant damage and then try to get last hit.
NC, change attacking war tags back to what it was in C3!!
no one likes having to force attack in this game, and it's obvious that certain classes are now gimped because of this, and clans are abusing the system!!!! WAKE UP NCSOFT!!!!
Maybe if you input system wasn't so inflexible this change wouldnt be s bad, but having to hold down control and flipping hotbars and hitting certain F-keys at the same time is impossible for some of us, especially those with limited motor skills.
Give us some GUI and keyboard customization or at least bring back the force-attack toggle button feature you removed from the game. But at least make it easier to use. A simple toggle skill for force attack on/off will do nicely.
