It's not impossible. But ok, I've had the help of guides and friends who have done the quest before. You just need to know exactly where to look, and use ww1 or 2 pots to run to the three places he appear. I agree that this quest is very hard/annoying, even more so than any of the other class changes (except maybe the nuker ones), and it could be made easier.
Side note: I wonder if you can port directly to at least the two different mines using noblesse port, which is avalable to all untill sometime early next month. I think so. And at least regular port to the northern part of dwarven land, where the island is.
ive been looking for himfor the last 5 hours and stil ahve not found him..ive been between ALL 3 locations....
u look at the RIGHT 3 locations?
1st spiral staircase in coal mines (last i ch3ecked it was after some goblins, dont go up first ramp, it is on same floor as the ramp)
Island at end of river (leading up from coal mine i think)
North entrance to mithril mines
make an alt dwarf and walk it to one of the places toma spawns. now log back to ur other dwarf and park him in another spot where he should spot. ever 10 minutes log back and forth while watching tv.
Don't worry. We dwarves are required to do the absolute hardest and most costy job change quests (you need to find toma again at lvl 40 change), but we get a real cool reward for it...
Once that we made this cleverly designed quests, we are blessed with the absolute best assortment of fighting skills. We can solo all the way to lvl 75 aquring insane ammounts of money on the way and we become a most feared PvP and siege class.
*and then she woke up*
actually, just finished my dwarf's last class change quest to become a WS.

had to fight one quest mob that was white, several normal mobs that ranged from light blue to dark blue, and find Toma twice (not so bad, he was i nthe same spot both times, and the event GK's really helped.) total time spent about 15-20 minutes.
