Hi, I would like to suggest to put the possibility to transfer characters from a NCsoft account to another. I'm playing on my brother account since a long time and since we have a new computer, we thought we could play together, but we can't do that on the same account at the same time. So I would create my own account and play with my brother. The thing is that I really don't want to restart completely my character from level 1 to 70 once again... I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks that would be great.
We could put that possibility with a simple icon which we can read "transfer a character" in the character selection area. Then we could write the account name and its password to transfer the character to it. It would be secure so no worries about that.

Sorry but you may have to make a new one and start leveling up and if he want to have the name in the new account he have to delete the other one so he can use it.
it would be a nice idea but it goes with the server transfer idea and is not going to happen in the near future.
Server transfer will most likely not happen, but if it does, not for a while.
The dangers of a server transfer are many. One of the more obvious dangers is server overpopulation and underpopulation. What would happen if more people joined Bartz? The place would explode :p
Or if whole alliances switched servers. Take two large alliances of your server and switch em'-- NM (Gustin) vs. Legion (Hindemith) Rofl :p
I'm not saying changing servers, that for sure, we must not change that, I would just want to put my character on another account, because we can't play 2 people at the same time on the same account, as you know. All I want to do is to "divide my account in 2 parts". All i want to do is to "copy and paste it" on another account and remove it from the old one. And from a $ view, it would be a good thing for NcSoft, because if do that, i would need to pay for another account so it could work...
As interesting as this would be, it would open doors to a whole new kind of ebaying. Instead of selling accounts, farmers could raise and sell characters. Or for other reasons, I could transfer my character so someone elses account for whichever reason I wanted, and at that point, my clan and all of my online friends would not know who is behind the name.
In anycase, a server transfer is little more than transferring a set of information from one database into another. Account are practically the same. I doubt they will do such a thing if they already decided to not allow server transfers.
Who knows. Maybe you'll get lucky, you never know what NCsoft is up to and that's what this forum is for. I'm just saying that it's very unlikely. Well, Good Luck!
It might work if the 2nd account is placed under the master account of the 1st. Also there could be an option for this and have it as a one time only event for both accounts.
Wasn't there something like 'not legal' about sharing accounts?
I don't mind if there are 2 people playing 2 different chars on
2 different servers or completely on their own, but still NC doesn't
like it if there are 2 people or even more using the same account...
Well if it would be like:
Master Acc A - L2 Acc 1 transfering to Master Acc A - L2 Acc 2
I would love the idea (same owner, two accounts) but I don't
like the idea of transfering chars to "a friends account" and he
playing them legit and then maybe transfering them back...
In the End it's just the same account sharing again...
There is alot of dangerous things with character transfers. Theft is one, think if you just steal a whole load of gear and adena from ppl and then just move to another server rich as a troll :P
What I do think would be good (this has been discussed to death before) is that europen players who started on US servers before Teon, should have a chance to move to Teon to get a more decent playing time. (one time ever move)
Everquest did it for years. You paid a 50$ fee and they moved your character to another account that you owned. Its not that difficult, and doesn't pose any problems that we don't already face.
Personally, I'm all for this. And as I recall, this was originally intended, or at least hinted at, by the powers that be three years ago.
Yeah, thats a good point, maybe we could pay a little to transfer a character. Still, i don't think there would be problems of stealing and unknown stuff. If you pay for two accounts and you know both passwords, i dont think you can cheat if NcSoft find a good way to put that possibility. :)
