I don't know if this was brought up before, too tired (2am) to check, so I'll just post. :eek:
While standing in the cursed village near Rune, waiting for night time to arrive for a quest, several people massed there for a raidboss.
When night hit the vampires and the vampire raid group spawned, the villagers vanished, chests spawned ... and every player in the area got severe lag. Really bad, bloody extreme kind of lag.
Our small party had an EE, who PRed out after about 2 minutes of not being able to do a lot. Once we spawned in Rune, everything was fine. A PM to one of the raid party revealed that the lag was still the same for those in the village, for quite some time, too.
Also, the entire vampire raid group sort of.... jumped/bobbed/warped weirdly every few seconds for just a second, then stood there. Chatting,(walking, casting, opening inventory or whatever else took in between 5 to 20 seconds to actually carry out.
Anyone can add similar expiriences?
Or had the exact same happen at that location?
I havent had that issue personally. I've been right outside the village when it turns from day to night and back again a couple times, nothing detrimental happened.
Oh, and why are you waiting for nighttime to do the vampire quest? Theres plenty there during the day.
The problem is caused by the Vampire Magisters that spawn. They are an aggro mob that teleports to the person they aggro. The mob ends up stuck in a teleport loop, teleporting to every person in the area without attacking. If you can manage to target and kill the magister, the lag goes away... until another one spawns...
I did the Quest as prophet, im not sure when that point of visiting the village was confirmed.
I ported in, hit 1 mob and pressed return. it was enough to continue to next quest part.
still off topic but i done the quest with 2 toons so ill tell ya what happened
the dude says (doubt most ppl read it but heres the gist) "when i wake up i have cuts and bruises on me"
so you go down at night and lo and behold he's a raid fighter!!!
if you walk up close to the guy the cross he gave you will break (vampire crusifix thing)
actually pretty **** cool.....
unless some farmers kill the raid boss like what happened to a friend of mine
anyone know what the respawn rate is could make that quest pretty hard
