I am a new dwarf on Gustin. After reading the forums i'm not sure dwarf was a good choice for a first character but I am going with it anyway. I guess I have three questions. Which will get into more groups an artisan or bounty hunter? And second, will a bounty hunter or an artisan be more valuable to a clan? And third, which is played more bounty hunter or atrisan?
Just trying to get a feel for which one I should play. Right now i'm still pretty neutral to both, leaning slightly to bounty hunter though.
dwarves are required to be charismatic and friendly, it's the only way you'll get groups as either class. People HAVE to like you... a LOT.
Artisan is in higher demand for clans. But that doesnt mean they'll level you!
I have seen many dwarves come and go, the most hardcore dwarves have quit. NCSoft really failed at designing them to be fun for the player. I highly recommend changing class before its too late.
Doh! Thanks for the heads up. So I got my guy past level 6. If I delete him do I get the new character bonus on my next character? Or do I need to try a new server all together?
I believe if you delete him and wait until he's gone, you'll get the benefits.
My clan tends to party the "neglected" classes quite a bit, but as was said above, it's a tough life as a dwarf of either specialization. You can be rather useful to a party as a spoiler, but they'd expect you to share your spoils. As a WS you'd be great for keeping SS in stock while a party hunts.
Honestly, look at all the classes you can play and think about what would be fun in the long haul. If your play style tends to be group oriented, go with a support class, such as BD, SWS, or a healer -- you could make a battle prophet (heavy armor and weapons). If you want to solo I'd recommend a nuker (like an SH, for example) or summoner. Archers are also good soloers I believe.
Ya, kinda sucks. I like the look of dwarves. Atrisans seem like they might be ok over the long haul thanks to the mechanical summon. But scavengers seem to not get much at all to help them out.
We get Fake Death, never underestimate that. Take the following scenario.
*see's bot train*
*uses greater haste pot*
*runs round like a nutter and pulls every agro mob in the area*
"Hello bots how are you today"
*uses Fake Death*
"Ooops I've fallen"
Bots automatically use spoil festival.
"bye bye bots, oo nice jewels are they for me?"
Then of course theres the hp... Following quotes from the derby.
"so how many hp you got left?"
"7.2k"
"-_-"
"-_- your too expensive to -_-ing kill"
"did I even break your cp?"
"you really want to know?"
"die already"
Also i never really have problems getting groups (except now with this **** spoil bug but still in a party every night).
I'm a dwarf and proud of it.
Sincerely Trixiebell (that evil and nasty perma-broke Solidarity/AncientWisdom tinpot dictator and hardcore por.. i mean dwarven spoiler)
p.s. Soon will be the age of the dwarves, we shall arise and no knee cap will be safe, i have me step ladders ready.
I wont recomend it now.
Really bein a dwarf is much different now then it was in prelude or c1.
With a working manor and a lvl 20 char u can make easy cash in 2 hours up to 1 mil or more. It just depends how fast u kill. The only hard thing is to buy the good seed and sell crop back later.
A low lvl spoiler now has not much to offer then getting a few mats and useless Key mats u wont use for crafting i guess.
I admit you can sell the materials for good prices in giran and get some equip faster anyway manor is more efficent.
Same with recipes in prelude and c1 u could make some money with em now expect mostly the NPC as custumer thanks to share spoil, spoil only recipes everyone gets plus there are no need for much D and C grade recipes anymore Beside the ss Bsps ones and the top Grade or set items.
Recipe selling to more ppl starts at B grade and even there is not that much money in it because i can take you days before u get the recipe you looking for and even then someone other in party could get.
Artisan wont be much better you will stick to ss craft most time and spent more time in town selling then hunting outside to make cash.
Later when your high lvl dont expect the huge profits from crafts. For friends u will craft cheap and other ppl wont use you much when u craft to expensive.
If i where u i would do a melee class and do quests and manor plus try to get good equip and later have the Spoiler/crafter using your equip too through the freight system or let a good friend hold your stuff.
I play a Dwarf BH as my main, and I'm in my mid 60's.
If I could do it over again, I'd choose another class. The reason is simple, at higher levels, PvP becomes more fun and important, and Dwarves (especially BH's) suck for PvP.
On the plus side, I am a very group oriented player, being a clan leader helps, so I group almost every night. Over my 60 some levels, the spoils have added to the wealth of the clan over all.
Still though, spoil is just not enough to offset the lack of PvP skills.
I would suggest - make some other character you like to play, and when you feel you need some adena and stuff - like make C grade and above and need to gather some materials via manor or spoiling - make dwarf then.
You will know market a bit, know where and what to hunt etc., it will ease it for you.
After looking at the new players page I saw it is impossible for me to get another "new character" bonus on Gustin. So I did what any rational person would do an leveled my dwarf up to 19.
Now for the big decision, scavenger or artisan. I'm leaning twards scavenger right now. But making a seige golem would be soo cool! ;)
I will see how the 20s and 30s go as a dwarf, if I get bored I can either just liquidate and use the cash to start anew. Or switch servers and get the new character bonus all over again.
I have both a bh and an arty. WS are better in the long run. They great additions to clans, and there better at making adena than a BH. I luv playing my BH to train etc. But if you want it to be your main class go with arty in the long run its the better of the two. Also WS's get big booms which can be somewhat effective in pvp(granted ull never realli use it out of the arena for the most part but atleast u got lots of hp)
ignore big boom its not effective in pvp or pve
ws better in the long long long run
they are harder to lvl than scavs and will make considerable less adena and xp until really high lvls
when i first started playing l2 my main was a Human Fighter, but aside from him i made a dwarf alt. dwarfs have advantages, my dwarf is my wallet, any money or mats or etc items i have i keep on this character. also if i ever wana sell/buy anything, thats the character i use. dwarfs get 4 sell slots/5 buy slots, vrs the norm player 3sell/4buy.
dwarfs are also a decent way to make money with little money. if you become a scavenger you can farm monsters that drop expensive mats to help afford better armor for your main, or when your selling drops or other misc items from your main char(this is wat i do), craft D-SS at the same time and sell that for extra profit. (buy dcrys at 600a, and soul ore at less than 300, sell for 10-11a for pretty nice profit)
cool, if I met him I would never wash my hands again
Really? I'd scrub my hands to the bone. But that probably comes from working in a hospital and seeing so much ***** come in for treatment. You'd be surprised what the girl/guy at your average fast food place is infected with. I am scared to think what the man in your avatar comes in contact with.
