Who are the people with random, capital letters? They can't all possibly be the bots I've heard of, really it can't be because they are EVERYWHERE. I'm not kidding I wrote names down because a few were KSing I had a list of 24 different names after half an hour this is ridiculous.
Maybe I'm just mistaken, maybe this is just a L2 fad I wasn't aware of? I'm just a few days old to L2 so I mean I could be wrong. I don't know they could be people but most didn't respond to tells when I asked them to stop taking my kill. Some of them said "33where are you from" or "what level are you" and I'd respond with an answer but then they'd say "heh" and repeat the question.
I know this seems oblvious but I'm not one to lash out and judge, that and I'm having a hard time believing all these people are money farmers.
If the characters you're seeing are in a starter town, then prob'ly they're there to farm money for selling on ebay. Normal players quickly level out of the starter towns, and also most normal players don't have random unpronouncable names on their characters.
If they talked to you they probably aren't bots. the thing to remember is that L2 has very loose naming guidelines. Also since you are low level, a majority of the playerbase is mid to high levels meaning that bots are pretty free to roam in those areas without being harrassed.
Another thing is that since L2 has no instanced dungeons bots hunt with everyone else so they are much more obvious than they woudl be in in say WoW or DAOC.
Thanks for the response, it all makes sense now. Today I saw some of the same people being repeatedly killed by guards, I just figured people had a weird sense of humor.
The game's still been fun and everyone else seems to live well with it so I won't let it get to me then.
