Level 20 Can't afford Brigandine helmet.

Since i can't afford a Brigandine helmet (to complete the brig set),how much of an impact will it be to wear /mithril D grade(full set). Keep in mind still only pve at this level. I understand the numbers as far as bonus w/each set. Just lookin to see if anyone really notices an impact in the diff. sets.

if you aren't going with a two handed weapon get mithril... my dwarf is equiped with mithril (not an aoe dwarf)

I love the mithril set.... the pdef isn't that much different... the hp isn't that big of a difference... there should be a lot more mithril users imo...

get the mithril set and don't think twice about it... you wont be in d grade for long, so there is no point spending all your money on brig....

I'd not mess with the brig helmet. Absolutely you don't need it for pve, unless you play stoned-stupid.

My palus knight has successfully tanked many raid bosses, and doesn't have the brig helm.

You will be OK. Don't expect to have a full set, not to mention a full set of top gear, when you hit your next grade.

Toons who are well equipped are usually the alt characters of a high-level player. Those high level players seem rich from the perspective of a D-grader. However, the B or A grade gear that they are trying to buy is just as hard for them to get as the Brig is for you. In fact, sometimes the high players reroll new toons just to avoid facing the high end equipping problems!

Still, that is how L2 is supposed to work, I think. This is a challenging game, when you accomplish something you really feel a sense of accomplishment. I love that, it is a great design.

So don't feel bad being in a mixed set until you are lvl 30, it is Noble to pull yourself up by your bootstraps.

I agree with the others, don't bother with Brig due to the helmet prices.

Go with Mithril. You'll be fine and, if you have a LE female, it will look very pretty as well. :)

Get a few friends and hunt the bugbears south of HV, they drop the Brig helm and shield parts and also the full helm/shield. I know because our dorfs hunted there and got a full Helmet and Shield drop (not spoil) and lots of the mats. I'm pretty sure they still drop them in C4. There are other mobs that drop them too, check L2.stratics.com

Just get Mithril!

With the Shield it is practically equivalent to Brig.

Not to mention you won't be wearing what 90% of D grade fighters are wearing or trying to wear.

You also have to keep in mind resale value later when you've outgrown the armor. Brig is easier to move cause 90% of d-grade fighters do wear it.

At 1.5 million it's a beast to buy, even at level 40 :(

Why buy it??? Craft it, dosnt cost more then 200k or so.

agree, i am juz lvl 23, still half way there getting brigd gear, still sticking with bronze armour :(

only b grade ive owned is full bw heavy set which i got massive amounts of help on. C grade? mid c, top c weapons, karmian, divine, theca (all set completers too). D grade? 2 top weapons, brig, elven mithril, +4 demon fangs, +4 salamander, +4 sages rag. jewelry? 1 complete c grade, bo ring, 2 more c piecees, 2 d pieces, +4 elven necklace, mithril ring, 3 elven pieces.

closest ive ever come to owning a b grade weapon was when i was hoping a *cough*bot*cough* friend of mine would forget he lent me his "spare" damascus >.<

Yeah brig helmet is just too high. If you start saving adena, don't buy that helmet, because you will need Full plate helmet much more at 40. It's just as high. (and yeah you can sell brig helmet at 40, but sometimes D grade takes a while to sell. It's easy to get stuck with D grade stuff, at least on my server.)

On C4 PTS before the boost I hunted the spiders in cruma swamps they dropped the brig helm mats very often for me. Not sure how hard they would be to get on live server. But It is definatley not worth bying for the price people are charging for it now days. If you get 1 as a drop sell it and save up for C grade. IMO going top end isnt really worth paying for tell you get in to B grade.

IM 60+ right now and im still in C grade. With a nuker demon is the best there is until you get to A grade. I'm still trying to get enough adena for an A grade helm. Can you say 75mil for a helm ouch.
