i think never.. :/
nope it'll always be english
there are other forums though i cant name them here
It's in your own best interest to localize this game for France, dear Devs, English with French accent over teamspeak sounds almost as strange as us Germans. ;)

I mean... I read complaints every other day from people who quit because of this or don't even start, you're losing customers by the minute!

Cal :)
its much too expensive to translate the whole thing - GuildWars has it but that game isn't as extensive as Lineage

I wanted to play in French too, but decided that the game is worth playing even if in English :D
We had a German C1, fansite-translated and legalized by NC.
Then they changed the encryption of the text-files and illegalized
the 'patch'...

Oh well, I like bulgarians on TS they got a **** accent ;)
LOL! Is english that hard for ya?

LOL! Is english that hard for ya?

I can't speak Chinese, yet the largest % of people in this world do. I can speak Dutch, English, French and German because everyone in my country gets all those languages at school. Don't really see the 'lol' in not being able to speak English; still have other options.

Though I do agree for this game you will have to. The EULA is in English. Kind of hard to agree on having READ something which you can't read!

English is a very beautiful and difficult language. Unfortunately noone really speaks it, but some lousy accent and common speech which most people in all western countries got used to.

Sure, you can expect to be able to use your native language in almost any place you go, but at which cost! English is GIMP!

And I pity your for your narrow-mindedness.

Sry to inform u but english in not my "native language".
And i really hate to see ppls whine about something on this boards without even using english for their request.
You don't see me running around asking "Pe cand o interfata a jocului in franceza etc.?"---that's the translation of the thread in my language btw... u got my point?
<3 Alex.
this game (l2) was original only released in the US..

they only made a "european" server because so many europeans plays it etc.

if u want a dutch/french or whatever server.. go play WoW
they released the game in US and Europe and its alot bigger success than L2 evr gonna be on this side of the earth
Still man i got to tell u 1 thing:
I LOVE BLIZZARD... but i only play L2...
I wouldnt want the game in my own language, swedish. So much stuff would sound incredibly cheesy :)

Kritisk träff!
Du har slagit Elpy för 14 skada.
Noooo...I would really hate L2 in my native language. The names of places really sound much better in english...

Tower of Insolence or "Torre de la Insolencia"?

Either way, making a post in french really doesn´t get you very far...
Heh, got ninja'd. :)

I admit defeat.

I'd gather the guy asks for french because he can't or hardly can speak english, so, yeah, expect him to ask stuff in english
Try to talk LATIN...it's a difficult language..

Tu rêves mon ami...

Jeeze. It's like you French have a different word for everything!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I have to admit that even if there was a french version of the game, I would still play with the english version. I like to play my games in their original versions. An example, I played a lot of Guild Wars, and always in english. GW is a game wers you can change the language with only one click, but I prefered to keep it in english.

An other thing that was mention here is that everyone would have a different version of any place names, something that I hated in GW, "We meet at Lion's Arch" "Where?... Ah... Arche du lion", eurk.

Lastly, now I'm almost bilingual (funny, I'm not sure if I can say it like that) and it's all thanks to video games and TV. So I think that if even if someone isn't very good in english, that person should read everything and try to understand, because I think it's one good way to learn the language.
Totally agree Esmera. Learned more English from video games than in 7 years English at school. ;)

And I think it's nice to meet people from around the world. Which is hardly possible on the German DAoC servers for example.

lol.. very clever.
U got my 5 stars rating!
One thing i definately envy you european types for is the exceptional language education you recieve. Here in the US its abysmal. After several years of high school spanish (which was a decade ago I'll admit), I figured spanish would be a good way to meet the foriegn language requirements of my anthropology degree.
I flunked the class....brutally flunked it. Cause truth be told i should have been taught additional languages when i was 6, not 15 or 27.
And the really sad part is my grandmother's from Puerto Rico lol :(
Chinese is not the largest language, English is.

For everyone one native speaker of English there are at lest 4 non natives.
Look at it this way. It takes NCSoft 3 months to localize Lineage to one language. Imagine what it'd take to localize it to every european language!

I thought having 1/3 of the world's population automatically made your language the most popular.

PS: Not only in China they speak chinese...

IMO I think this would be the top 5 in the "language ranking"

1. Chinese
2. Indu
3. Spanish
4. English
5. French

1. Chinese
2. Hindu
3. Spanish
4. English
5. French

Fixed. :)

I see that you figured out that English is not my native language...hehehe
:D
When i left school last year we had the following system... one foreign language from 5th grade, then another from 7th and one from 9th, which is already a bit late to start something.

Now it was changed so kids start with english in 3rd grade (to get a feel for the language) and then proper classes from 5th. 2nd language from 7th and the last from 8th grade on.

This is for "grammar school" or whatever you might call it.

Now one might assume that's a good start to have everyone well educated in foreign languages... ehm... not quite. :p

Practise always looks a bit less bright than theory.

When you see German tourists near you in a restaurant or whatever... I bet a noticable percentage would "like to become steak."

Still takes more than a good system to make things work... teachers and schools need upgrades as well.
